Usually I get quite sick at least twice during the school year but I was doing so well and I remember thinking to myself that maybe I keeping myself healthy enough that I'll make it to spring without getting sick again. I thought too soon! A nasty cold hit me Wednesday evening. After I was finished with parent teacher interviews today I came home and slept most of the day. My lack of motivation has hit an all time low. I haven't even stepped on a scale because too scared what I'm going to see for numbers! I finally got out of the house and went snowshoeing yesterday and today. It felt great to be out, however the weather doesn't want to cooperate and we are expecting once again another cold spell. I have never never been a morning person. I'm the one who could sleep until 10 am on a Saturday. I have always wanted to quit this habit and start getting up earlier to workout before going to work. I tried a few days but I didn't make 2 days in a row. Now I have been up early 2 weeks in a row and the benefits are huge!! I have to say going with a buddy has helped my motivation to go. Motivation is what keeps everyone going. But what do you do when you have lost it? I have tried all sorts of things to remotivate myself - reading daily motivational sayings, reading health related materials, pinned fitness and health articles and ideas, tried setting the alarm to get up early, take the time to create healthy meals, tried exercising with a buddy (unfortunately they have the same feelings as me so that's not too motivating). I did not take care of myself - lack of sleep, not eating healthy and preparing proper meals ahead of time, drinking too much coffee and not enough water, not getting to the gym on a regular basis, lack of energy. I Think Not... Well, a new school year has come which usually means for me to abandon any good eating and exercise habits that I have developed over the summer. Not this year.
