So I am going to be w... Wed, 15 Feb 2012 19:06:28 EST Emotional Eating Assignment http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3819505 I'm not frequently an emotional eater. Emotionally, I'm a non-eater. Not to be confused with anything close to being anorexic. But when things are hard, or I'm in "the zone" for a task at hand, I frequently skip eating, or only eat whatever the most handy snack is (usually cheese)

Does that count? I can't think of a time when I've told myself that I need ________ based on my emotional status. Food definitely appeals to me on its own basis, but not as an answer for emotions. If I'm... Thu, 2 Dec 2010 13:07:13 EST Biggest Challenge http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3802585 Soooooo, my Action Step says to blog about my biggest challenge.

Mine is: Getting up early enough to eat breakfast. Sleep is just... so... nice... especially in the mornings. I'd soooo much rather get up, dressed and out the door in 15 minutes than make myself get up. This is compounded by the fact that I'm honestly never hungry until I've been awake for an hour, so it's hard to tell my sleepy self that I need to get out of bed and eat.

Action plan- just do it? Maybe. O... Tue, 23 Nov 2010 21:03:39 EST Starting over... kind of http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3772931 Yesterday I did day one of Couch-2-5K again. I've not been consistent with exercise since last entry, but I made myself get back out there again. The nice thing is that I DON'T feel like I'm starting over. I have better endurance and ability since I started from scratch 2 months ago. I am walking with a friend tonight, and then I'll do day #2 tomorrow. If only it weren't dark so early, and so cold in the mornings! But I'm doing it anyway. *sticks chest out* Tue, 9 Nov 2010 13:13:55 EST 1/2 mile! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3712852 I ran for 1/2 a mile before walking yesterday evening! 7/8 of a mile overall in 15 minutes. Woohoo! Wed, 13 Oct 2010 13:02:09 EST Water weight http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3709015 It's funny that I never feel "bloated" at the end of my cycle, but apparently I retain quite a bit of water, because the weigh-in after my new cycle starts is always quite dramatic compared to the rest of the month. It's ok, I'll take it!

I ran today, and did strength at lunch. Woohoo! Mon, 11 Oct 2010 22:25:33 EST Waiting... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3699418 I'm just waiting for the pain to start. If it doesn't maybe I'll run for 15 min, but if I'm confined to bed this afternoon, I will not be doing anything else!

But I do plan to start again tomorrow. Thu, 7 Oct 2010 13:31:19 EST Perserverence http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3697597 Today I didn't really want to exercise, but I did anyway. Now I'm feeling good, and glad I did. It also helped a lot that DH came and exercised with me. He's a big encouragement. Aaaaaand, now he's so pumped up that he's playing the "Speed Racer" theme over and over again while jogging and shadowboxing around the living room.

20 Wed, 6 Oct 2010 20:04:16 EST Cold front times 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3691558 I definitely didn't get out of bed this morning, not because I was tired, but because I was cold! Hubby got me a blanket (bless him!), but not before I'd woken up hourly from midnight to 5. I'm thinking that I'd like to do my cardio later anyway, because running in cold air hurts.

Cold is bad for my sleep pattern. Remedy- blankets!

I did do my strength stuff over lunch break at work though. Mon, 4 Oct 2010 13:21:09 EST Happy birthday to my husband! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3686650 Happy Birthday baby!

We ran and did strength together this morning (well, I call it running, but really, I can't run very far before having to stop and powerwalk instead, but he was a good sport), yeah for quality time!

Now off to make eggs and whole-wheat biscuits for breakfast.... mmmmm..... Sat, 2 Oct 2010 10:37:12 EST Cold Front http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3676640 15 min walk/jog this morning. I took an alternate rout because SP wants me to exercise in different places this week. It was kind of fun, but my shoes got soaked going through grass. Maybe tomorrow I'll take the path to the back 40. Even after 15 minutes my fingers were still chilly! I wonder what the temperature was. Tue, 28 Sep 2010 11:20:18 EST Reality Check http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3674126 Down to 132.5, I was excited about it until I looked at the SP projection of where I should be. I'm doing well with eating healthy, balanced, serving-size appropriate foods and with exercising, but they think I should have lost a few more pounds by now. :-( Either twisting my ankle set me back a LOT farther than I thought, or I just hang onto weight more than other people.

I changed my settings to get 15 min of cardio in every day but Sunday, rather than 30 min 3x a week. May that... Mon, 27 Sep 2010 13:09:25 EST I got up, but... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3667400 DH got up with me and we got, uh, distracted. Can I add cardio for this morning instead?

Anyway, I'll do strength training this afternoon, I promise!

Oh, and 1 piece of veggie pizza is only 240 calories. Not bad huh? So I'll find some high-fiber side to go with it and go ahead and join in Academic Reward Day with the students. Yeah! Fri, 24 Sep 2010 11:47:28 EST The beginning http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3664903 I'm not really good at blogging, so this will basically just be a rundown of what I'm doing with the program/ exercise routine and how it's affecting me. I really just want the 3 spark points per day! ;-)

Today I woke up a bit late so I walked for 25 minutes instead of 30. My shoes (backless) are rubbing the bottoms of my heel. I need new shoes that fit my feet and lace up. Goal: get some on Saturday.

Plan for the rest of the day: knock out 50 calories on Wii fit later ... Thu, 23 Sep 2010 11:59:08 EST
