Fri, 27 Sep 2013 11:12:15 EST After Dinner Walks http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5495464 Yesterday I added after dinner walks to my routine. I take the dogs. They really like it. Last night was so wonderful. The sky was dark and so many stars were visible. A nearby farmer must have plowed down a corn field or "knocked" some almond trees because the smell of some fresh harvest was thick and delicious in the air. And it wasn't a lawn being mowed. A wonderful walk. Tonight was very nice too. I am glad I added after dinner walks. We go about a mile.

<img src="http://photo... Wed, 25 Sep 2013 00:07:48 EST This might be TMI - just warning you http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5491565 I planned to run 4 miles this morning. Last night I mapped out the route. I got up at 5:00 so I would have enough time. It was dark and cold, and I was determined to do the full four miles. About 2 miles out I began to get GI cramps. For me, GI cramps means trouble ahead. I cut my run short. Luckily I was able to cut through my route and jog a half mile home. And just in time too.

I have had Crohn's Disease since I was a teenager. I had a chunk of my intestines removed about 17 ye... Fri, 20 Sep 2013 23:21:58 EST A Day of the Dogs http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5490437 I did not run today. Today was for the dogs.

We have an empty field where I can let the dogs run. I tie their leashes together because they don't always come when I call them. When I have the dogs with me, I walk and sprint. I do this to work on my speed and to burn more calories then just walking. We usually do about 2 miles.

Developers are starting to build houses in our little corner of paradise. Bu... Thu, 19 Sep 2013 17:38:36 EST Why I run http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5489329 I started running in Junior High. So I'm talking about the 1970s! We were running 220s, 440s, 660s, 880s thinking we were long distance runners. This was a sport I could be good at. I was never graceful enough for gymnastics, or coordinated enough for basketball or softball. I played all the sports, but found my niche in track.

In my 20s I discovered 10ks. I ran a lot. I have to get up super early in the morning because It is too hard to run that far with the dogs. They decide they don't want to run, or they want to go a different way. So I get up extra early, do my run, then comeback and take them for a mile or so walk.

200 To be fair to the dogs, Loki, is overweight because he has a thyroid p...
