Tue, 30 Oct 2012 15:16:22 EST Family exercise day Went to the park with my parents and our dogs today. While they walked the dogs around to "read the doggie news" I ran around the park. It was the first time I've ran this park in a few yrs and I swear it used to seem impossible to run the whole thing but today i did it in 10 minutes...I guess its only a mile haha but it was a good warm up for some disc golf. Running outside is so different than inside on a track. my lungs have a hard time getting used to it. Then I got to order of the kids menu at panda, usually all I want is child size portions but restaurants are so picky if you don't have a kid with you. The first two days were great, but then I caught a stomach bug and bed was my after work sanctuary. Thankfully I was feeling better by Today just in time for the Walk for the Cure 5k. This was the first time I've ran a 5k outside and I felt it! It was a lot of uphill and my lungs were hurting, but knowing that cancer is a grueling battle pushed me to suck it up and keep going. I did legs yesterday and it felt awesome. Ive been helping my Mom at the gym as well and trying to include her in my workouts. Its been challenging however to keep patient since she's out of shape. I felt a bit awkward not knowing exactly how to do the exercises properly but thankfully a fellow gym member showed me how. <BR> I ended up hitting a nerve in my elbow or something so my right arm got a better workout than my left. =( <BR> In the end i felt like i didnt get much of a workout because i wasnt covered in sweat like I'm used to after my usual cardio workouts.
