I have been struggling with my sugar. I have seen a special doctor that helped with that about a month ago. She gave me a goal for the number of carbs to eat and my sugar levels have improved. I am eating along the lines of a paleo diet with some alterations. I do eat some beans for the good protein and slower acting carbs. My cholesterol went down 45 points in a month and my A1C went down from 7.0 to 5.7!! I am so happy with the results and I will... Needless to say I have not been walking like I was. Since I am not getting the exercise I was before I needed to cut back on my calories, so I have started having a protein fruit smoothie for breakfast and I am having more fruits and veggies for my other two meals along with some lean protein. I was writing a blog at least 2-3 times a week but haven't had a chance lately. I have been doing quite well with my eating and exercise. I have lost a total of 50 pounds as of a couple weeks ago. I haven't been on the scales since then though. I did measure myself a couple days ago though. I was very pleased to find that I have lost a half inch more from my waist as well as a half inch from my upper arm and from my neck. I know I am losing inches and I am curious about my weight. Sun, 7 Jul 2013 20:18:41 EST TGIF Well I have been working on getting 10K steps a day and actually hit 70,500 yesterday for the past 7 days! :) I am noticing that it is getting easier to get those steps and still be able to have energy for other things. Fri, 7 Jun 2013 12:20:34 EST Happy Wednesday Progress I measured myself this morning and I have lost at least 2 inches in some areas on myself in the last year. I know this has been slow but it also took me a long time to gain all this weight. I was happy this morning when I put a shirt on that I haven't worn in a long time because it was too tight. Wed, 5 Jun 2013 09:30:33 EST Waiting to feel better.. Well I finished last week well and started this week on a low note. I was exhausted but I did get my steps in on Sunday along with lots of laundry and cleaning. Monday was not a good day for me. My allergies have kicked in and I have had such a headache since Monday morning. I didn't get my steps in on Monday or on Tuesday. I am hoping to get them in today. I have been working on getting 10,000 steps a day this week. I actually did over 10,000 steps 5 of the 7 days in the last week. :) It hasn't always been easy but I am finding it easier every day. I have not been on SP as much as I would like in the last week but I have been sticking to my program for the most part. I lost another 2 pounds so that I am at a total of 48 lost so far. I can hardly believe it.... I was called last week and told that the dr wanted to see me after my blood work was received by him. I was worried and thinking the worst. I went into the office today and he said he had me come in because he wanted to congratulate me!! My numbers were so improved that he wanted to see me. Thu, 9 May 2013 15:52:46 EST Shopping spree! I had a very fun weekend! I went away with my mom and we went shopping this last weekend. We went to country stores, craft stores, and clothing stores. I have actually been in the 80's and 90's more and my high recently was 133 (this morning) I am loving my fitbit and the extra movement. I am feeling great and have so much more energy. I have been working on eating healthy foods and exercising according to the fitbit program. I have also joined a 10,000 steps per day challenge. I have been getting more steps than I used to but I have not gotten 10,000 steps every day. I did reach it today though! It is really hard work when you work in a small space that doesn't require much walking. Hopefully it will get easier to do the exercise as I loose weight. It just came yesterday and I am already doing soooo much better with exercise. I actually did 10,355 steps today and 11 flights of stairs. Since the weather is improving I have started walking outside. I used to only be able to walk for about 45 minutes. I actually walked for 1 1/2 hrs just a couple days ago. I had a good breakfast and was full before done eating. I was surprised with a light muffin from DD's for break time. Well it was good and bad all in one. Several months ago I found out I had a medical issue that caused the doctor to suggest that I stop my walking routine for a short time (about an hour every night). I took a break from Thanksgiving to the New Year and let me tell you, it was a big mistake. I had lost 50 pounds then I gained back 15 not realizing it at all.
