I would have a good day - keeping my calories down and then come dinner time I would be really hungry and then eat more than I should and sometimes even have a snack. Ending the day with a 1500 - 1700+ calorie range instead of the 1200 range.

I have talked with a friend who ... Thu, 26 Jan 2012 10:32:43 EST Complete! 2 week challenge finished http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4691771 Well I ended off my two week challenge with 1.8 lbs of weight lost, however that was just lost during the second week as at the end of the first week I lost it and had a bit of a binge during the weekend. Still felt good though.

I meant to start another 2 week challenge on Tuesday of this week, however I ended up with Vertigo on Monday. It is now day 4 with vertigo and it is finally showing signs of stopping, hope to start my challenge tomorrow now that i can start exercising a... Thu, 19 Jan 2012 17:26:45 EST Weigh scales can be addictive ... 2 week challenge continues http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4676910 I didn`t realize how addicting the weigh scale was... I had told myself that i wasn`t going to weigh myself again until my 2 week challenge had ended. but then i couldn`t get it out of my head... What if I`ve lost... I really want to know... I caved! I weighed myself, thankfully things had moved in the proper direction and didn`t change my mood for the day. Seriously though, how sad is it that i couldn`t even make it one day without stepping on the scale!! I have 4 days left to my chall... Thu, 12 Jan 2012 19:42:26 EST 1200 calories! yahoo! 2 week challenge - Day 8 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4672652 Did way better today and felt really in control and not hungry. I managed to eat just over 1200 calories and then enjoyed an hour long boxercise class this evening. It was great to go and do some punching and skipping, which I hadn't done in quite a while.

Going to take things one day at a time and avoid stepping on the scale for a little while. I feel really good tonight and positive and I want a repeat! Tue, 10 Jan 2012 22:52:18 EST walking - 2 week challenge Day 7 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4671036 Monday, Jan 9th - Did better today I was more conscious of my food intake, however I went above my recommended calorie count. Now just need to be conscious enough not to put the food in my mouth. 20

Exercise was great though, at least I felt good about it. I did 20 minutes on my elliptical trainer in the morning and then went for a 60 minute walk at night time. 224 Tue, 10 Jan 2012 10:51:11 EST Sabotage! - 2 week challenge day 6 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4671017 Sunday (jan 8) Day 6 - i think the attitude from yesterday crept in again. Started off great - made a fruit/protein shake for breakfast, but for whatever reason it congealed ( i think because I made it with too green of a banana?) so then I couldn't drink it. I had some veggies instead but was hungry and then we had a potluck lunch at our church and everything was so delicious and really how could i track things on Sparkpeople with everything being casseroles right?. Good excuses, yah righ... Tue, 10 Jan 2012 10:44:31 EST 2 week challenge - day 5 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4670994 It's Saturday - having felt pretty good about my week i decided to weigh in... Should not have as I hadn't lost anything, not even .2 of a pound!!! talk about frustrating. I then hopped into the shower and tried to talk myself out of the pre-slump feelings. I know that it doesn't always show up on the scale, and I am feeling better, but I REALLY Want that scale number to move!!!

Today I had planned a date night with my husband so had planned on a certain items at the restaurant,... Tue, 10 Jan 2012 10:33:00 EST 2 Week Challenge - Day 4 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4662876 Day 4 - Did not do too badly on food, however did go over my maximum calorie count of 1500 and ended the day with 1640 calories eaten. I caved in the evening and had a hot chocolate. I felt hungry most of the day and still was tired this afternoon with a headache.

I had plans on doing a workout tonight, but I think I'm going to jump in the hot tub to relax a bit and then get to bed early. I will get up early tomorrow morning for a work out and then work out on my scheduled day... Fri, 6 Jan 2012 21:18:39 EST 2 Week challenge - Day 3 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4660904 Day 3 - Ate well today ~ 1540 calories, which I feel good about, and more of those calories came from salads. I had a salad for lunch and dinner. I did feel rather sluggish in the afternoon though and it was really hard not to fall into the habit of snacking. However, I made myself my tea and went out shopping with my kids and managed to get through the day.

Also, have managed to reduce the gluten intake, only having 1/8 of a piece of quiche with crust. Hoping the reduction wil... Thu, 5 Jan 2012 23:25:20 EST 2 week challenge - days 1 and 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4658064 Day 1 - ate well and controlled throughout the day, but by the end of the day I caved! Ate a box of smarties and a caramilk choclate bar! Ah, thankfully it still didn't make things go crazy calories wise as I had aimed for the 1200 calorie mark. So it ended up being 1600 calories for day 1.
Also did 30 minutes pilotes DVD - which ended up replacing my cardio, but still good.

Day 2 - Have felt really good and controlled today! yahoo only 1360 calories ate today. Tue, 3 Jan 2012 14:23:51 EST I'm Back.... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4632014 This is the first entry in a very long time... Kind of lost my way. I'm really trying to find it again. It's been hard! I had done so well, but just can't seem to repeat the efforts. No more! I have got access to a computer right by the kitchen and am starting to track my food through Sparkpeople, which I never did before. I mean I've tracked my food, but just in a book and you can easily fudge the numbers when you are writing it down. With it being spit back at you by the computer, yo... Mon, 19 Dec 2011 21:11:28 EST Frustration!!!!! I need a kick in the butt!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3530412 Wow, the last blog I wrote was about me running 5Km. What a difference a couple of months can make!

I have completely lost motivation and energy to keep fighting the weight-loss battle. I know that it is the right thing to do. I know that I enjoy running, walking and exercising in general. But I also know I enjoy very much the wrong kinds of foods. Unfortunately for me the third knowledge statement seems to be the strongest!

I have managed to maintain my 30 pound weigh... Thu, 12 Aug 2010 15:36:48 EST I ran my first 5km race!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3318135 I completed a goal!! I ran my first 5km race and completed it in 38 minutes and 16 seconds. I was aiming for 40 minutes so I was happy with my time. It was a tough race, with some VERY big hills, that I did not train for, but I pushed through. It was helpful that my husband met me at the bottom of the last one and ran up it and to the finish line with me. (My children were also waiting at the top of this hill, and I could hear them yelling "go mommy go!" over and over. My 2 year old sure ... Wed, 9 Jun 2010 16:16:14 EST The path I went for a walk on made me feel guilty! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3255493 I went for a walk today and I felt guilty! It was crazy, I was walking and the entire time I was walking I was thinking "I should be running". It felt like I was doing the path an injustice for moving so. A few months ago that would have sounded insane, but you see the path that I was walking was now the path that I've been running during my training for my 5K. So it felt wrong, somehow to only be walking it. My how things have changed!! I guess I can now add the "road I take" to my lis... Fri, 21 May 2010 22:57:14 EST Me and My Jelly Belly ran 5KM!!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3137115 What a feeling! I have been doing the couch 2 5K group challenge and am in Week 7 of the program. Week 7 is 5 min. warm-ups and 25 min. runs. So D1 I head outside to do mine, but this time I had figured out a 5km loop around my house, so I thought i would do the route and then walk the rest of the distance as part of my cool-down. When I reached my 25 minute run time I realized how close I was too home and decided that I would go for it. I did it! I ran for 5km! I ran into the house and... Mon, 19 Apr 2010 14:49:32 EST 30 lbs gone! Woohoo! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3086381 I'm back! It's great to know that feeling of motivation and success again. I have reached my 30 pounds lost mark and that feels GREAT! It kind of snuck up on me, I've been so focused on the one day at a time, and then one day I realized, 'hey, I've lost 30lbs!' With reaching this goal, my husband is treating me to a Cirque de Soleil show, which I am totally looking forward to. I am now working on running a 5k run, and am looking towards a run on June 5th in Burlington. I am struggling at r... Tue, 6 Apr 2010 10:39:34 EST Why are down days always SO down? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3034194 Where do I begin....? I have just recently celebrated my 33rd birthday, and had goals of being a good 5 pounds less by that date than I am. A week before my birthday I seemed to unconsciously decide to take the week off of tracking food and enjoy myself. Looking back though I'm not sure if I really did enjoy it. I still did my regular workouts, which I'm sure helped to counteract the indulgence, other than that though I seemed to not really care. What happened to my motivation? I was o... Tue, 23 Mar 2010 13:45:46 EST I had a picnic in March!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3007168 It is gorgeous outside! The sun is out and the snow is almost gone. My kids and I decided to have a picnic on our deck in the sunshine. It was awesome! My three year old, was thanking me for the lovely picnic, and saying how nice and warm she was. I don't think i've had a picnic outside in March before. 67

Yesterday, I finished my week 2 of the learn-to-run program and it felt great! Yeah! I can't wait until it's warm enough at 7a.m. to go outside and run. My shins... Tue, 16 Mar 2010 14:20:12 EST children fitness trainers http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2998028 Ahhh.... what a night. All three of my kids where up with the flu, fever, up-chucking I felt like i was out of bed more than I was in it. Then the time change was on top of that. I woke up at 8:30 a.m. after getting a half hour more sleep and tried to see if they wanted to try any thing to eat, - crackers, toast? My oldest was curled up under a blanket on the couch - she just wanted to know if I was going for my walk? Uh, No, I was barely functioning. 10 minutes later my 3 year old gets u... Sun, 14 Mar 2010 13:22:35 EST Need to pull myself back up again!!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2992973 I have completed day 4 of the learn to run program, felt pretty good, but I am definitely staying at this level for a few more days, as it did push me by the end of the 20 minutes. It still felt great to have said I accomplished it though. I loved the feeling of having muscles working and I even felt as though everyone else should be able to see them working as well. I made the mistake of looking in the mirror and realizing that in fact you couldn't see any muscles on my body, even when fl... Fri, 12 Mar 2010 20:34:12 EST "mommy run?" ha, ha, ha http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2961530 I did it!! This morning I just finished day 2 of the learn-to-run 5k program. Even better than just doing it, is that it felt really good and I felt like I could have even kept going! When I started a learn-to-run program in 2009, I could barely make it through a 30 second run and now I can do a minute no problem. Yeah! Day number 3 is still 1 min. run/ 1.5 min. walk, so it is breaking me into things gently. Definitely feeling energized.

Although, Wednesday, when I did day 1... Fri, 5 Mar 2010 10:10:02 EST Spring is in the air... time to start running. Any help? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2949397 So I didn't reach my challenge weight by the end of February. I was 1.6 pounds away. So close. My husband says that I can re-negotiate for the cirque de soleil tickets, so hopefully I can still get them. I know I've got to get them before July because that is when the show is. So that was a bummer, but I looked at things a bit closer and I still lost 2 pounds last week making it a total of 10 pounds lost since the start of January, with an over-all grand total of 22 pounds lost since st... Tue, 2 Mar 2010 16:47:08 EST Numbers are not the only indication of success!!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2936130 Thank you to those that have replied to my blog. I've never done one before, and it certainly made my day! It's great to get such encouraging feedback! Thanks!

Yesterday, I stepped onto the scale to see how I was doing and I had gone up! I've been doing good with both food and exercise so I was disappointed, especially since this Sunday is a goal target, with entertainment tickets on the line. Normally this would have probably got the better of me, but instead I hopped into the ... Sat, 27 Feb 2010 20:40:41 EST Can you run, mom? Fitness challenge from my 5 year old. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2928801 I've been working hard, or I think i've been working hard. yet today I was issued a challenge that I couldn't/can't ignore. The challenge came from my 5 year old daughter. The conversation went like this.
D - mom, can you even run?
M - yes, (disbelief in my voice)
D - I don't know, I've never seen you run
M - I just don't like to do it that much
D - prove it, you have to show me real soon

So now I have a challenge to show my daughter that yes, I can act... Thu, 25 Feb 2010 21:27:34 EST Lessons for life, learned from my toddler http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2926288 You think you have things figured out and that life is good, safe ... and then it takes a 20 month old to show you that there will always be hiccups around, and lessons that can be learned.

my son has discovered a new way to get around two different baby gates in order to get up the stairs that are off limits to him.
