We had a nice New Year Day visiting my husband's sister and family in Maine. They recently moved so it was a first look at the house/yard. It was lovely. I wish that I had taken some photos. Their property is 3 acres and abuts 300 acres of protected land. My SIL said that there are many trails in the woods and invited us back for some snowshoeing.

Today we are taking down our tree and putting the house back into order. Mon, 2 Jan 2017 06:35:33 EST There is strength in numbers and they don't lie http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6287810 I have been struggling with my weight and choices the last year (mostly). Sat, 31 Dec 2016 06:41:42 EST It Starts Anew http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6285410 Christmas was a nice day. I had low expectations for the day. Since my cousin died last June, our family has been a little off. Christmas was with his family, at his house 40 . I offered to host but his son wanted things to remain the same this year.
Dinner was running behind due to an unexpected visitor for my nephew but that turned out to be a good thing as we all pitched in and got it done.
There were some tears during grace and later as some photos were gifted, but a... Mon, 26 Dec 2016 06:23:55 EST Wellness Coach, Trainer, Etc. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6283918 Today I met with the wellness coach. I really like this woman. Right off the bat she always asks what my energy level is and depending on my answer, then asks what keeps it from being higher or lower. She always makes me think and look at the bright side of things.

Today we talked about last session's goals. Of which, I did only one. But it is one and that's more than none.
My big success was that I created my spreadsheet so I can crunch the numbers and get the hard cold facts... Sat, 17 Dec 2016 08:58:50 EST Doing What Works for Me http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6278240 I have mentioned that I am working with a wellness coach at work. I see her every other week. We've talked about looking at things in the positive - which can be hard for a realistic such as I. But I am trying and do find that I am mostly stress free lately. Maybe because work has been somewhat quiet and things with my elderly aunt and uncle have calmed.
I have been sporadically tracking three things that went well each day. That does help. Even doing the exercise helps, even if I never... My friend is so helpful picking out gifts. We've been making this yearly excursion for about ten years now. It's great to have the entire day together. Lots of chatter and laughs.

I am getting over a sinus infection and starting to feel better now, which is great because there is a lot to get done this time of year. Sat, 3 Dec 2016 05:41:23 EST Trying Something New http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6271228 I have started a new workout program that incorporates cardio and strength. It's not a formal program although I am doing pieces of a program called Body Chisel. 24 Yesterday I did 15 minutes of the 20 min video. It was pretty tough. It was 5 ST exercises that you repeat for a minute. You add on another exercise, etc. Then you do it again this time starting at 5 reps and going to 1. She is teaching me that a part of the process is accentuating the positives and letting the negatives go. Sounds easy, right? It’s not, really. We are surrounded by negatives. From early on our parents have framed things negatively - such as look both ways before crossing or ..... You’ll get hit by a car (negative). A little breezy but that was okay.

We had no specific plans other than to get out of the house and go to a place with beaches and the ocean. We started in Gloucester but saw some signs for the Essex Scenic Coastal Byway and started following them.

We made a few stops along the way.

<img src="http://photo... Sun, 15 May 2016 07:10:18 EST Starting and Stopping http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6162020 I am here. Still plugging along. Starting and stopping on this journey to lose a few pounds.
Still struggling big time with my food choices. ugh! Why can't I get into a good rhythm? I think some of it is definitely stress, some of it is laziness. Just so tired of fighting this battle with the same few pounds. 15

Honestly, I wouldn't be so hung up on it if it wasn't for the clothes. I am fast approaching the need for larger size pants. 40 and I am not bu... Thu, 5 May 2016 19:47:34 EST Busy Week - Good Deed http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6152671 This has been a busy week. Fortunately a good week mostly.

Tuesday I did my good deed. I was meeting a friend for lunch. It was a miserable day -40 degrees and pouring rain. On the way to lunch, I noticed a lady with white hair walking. I guess it was the white hair that caught my eye. Who is out walking in the rain without a hat or umbrella? I turned around and stopped. She looked and smiled at me and told me that she was out for a walk. I noticed she was wearing her PJs, slippers... Fri, 29 Apr 2016 08:05:18 EST 5K Done! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6149413 Today was a great day!! Hubby and I did our community's 5K today. This was our 4th time.

The weather was a bit windy and chilly but very sunny. He is still recovering from his injury/surgery last summer so he walked the route with me. That was great. I think that's why I dread these races because he typically runs and leaves me behind. 46

We did some sections of jogging but they were short jags. We were keeping pace with a lady would was a beginner runner. W... Sun, 24 Apr 2016 18:20:08 EST Weekend http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6144711 It was another busy weekend for me. Saturday we did some errands and I did gardening. Yesterday we had a great workout (love when DH works out with me). We did a Leslie Sansone 3-miler. I also did a 30 minute upper body sculpt workout. It was hard and pointed out to me that I have been slacking. My goal for ST is to do this workout twice a week.

Focusing on food again and did well yesterday. I was a little hungry last night and very hungry this morning. I take that as a good sign! ... Fri, 1 Apr 2016 19:56:53 EST Stress is my Enemy http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6132024
Seem to have lost my mojo this month.

Still dealing with lots of stress at work. This week was brutal. Too much work, too many meetings, and too many interruptions. Tomorrow I am WFH and plan to keep myself on do not disturb all day. I know I would feel better if I could get at least one thing off my plate without all the interruptions. Ugh!

Been piling the work on that slacker in my group. Keep telling him that we are all busy and that our manager wants us to go ... Thu, 31 Mar 2016 20:49:45 EST
