It cannot be rescheduled because it would be late October/November before they could do it. We told the contractor this a few weeks ago. He didn't get moving until this week. Yesterday we h... Fri, 28 Aug 2015 08:14:15 EST End of the Week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5982501 We ended our vacation on a good note.

Thursday (with our new lock in place) we left the house for several hours. 30 We did some errands, went to lunch, and then to a movie. We saw Ricki and the Flash. The movie started out slowly but ended up being good with a nice message. When we arrived home, the painter was still here. She's a good worker so we didn't mind. She was getting ready to leave anyway.

Yesterday we went out to do some errands. Now that the wal... Sat, 22 Aug 2015 08:19:33 EST A little progress http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5981349 This is a strange week. We are on vacation. A staycation. Hubby took the week off but continues to log into work and make calls. 40 I try to slip away to do some errands and he wants to come with me. Ugh! Don't get me wrong. I enjoy spending time with him but we have been together for 24 hours a day for several weeks now except for the few days I went into the office or trips to the grocery store. I just need a break. PLUS it's more work to take him a long.

We had a n... Thu, 20 Aug 2015 08:14:18 EST On another note http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5979370 Other than renovations the only thing going on is that my weight is going up. 15

I am having trouble focusing on myself during all the confusion that is my life. LOL!

I decided that I will make an effort this week since we are on staycation and have extra time to get myself organized. I've done it before and can do it again! Mon, 17 Aug 2015 07:46:45 EST Trying to be patient http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5977103 I think the end of the renovations are in sight. 198 I am trying to be patient. But patience is not one of my strong suits.

Yesterday they put in the hardwood floors. They look nice. They still have to be sanded and coated so there's several days of work ahead but the space is starting to look like a room.

This is me in our room.

There is still lots o... Thu, 13 Aug 2015 08:48:09 EST Sunday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5974570 This past week flew by. Let me see if I can remember all that happened.

I went into the office twice this week. Sometimes it's not worth going in. People are disruptive and loud and with all that is going on with the addition, hubby texts me a lot with updates/questions. I do enjoy listening to my audio book during the 2-hour round-trip though. 20

A lot of the addition work was not of my interest. The contractor's guys finished the storage area under the dec... Sun, 9 Aug 2015 09:06:22 EST Big accomplishment! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5970423 Since our construction one of the garage bays has become the dumping ground.
We put all the new lights, etc. in there as we got them. Then the contractor put all the plumbing fixtures in there when they were delivered.
Then, as if we needed anything else in there, the contractor's guys moved our stuff (which wasn't very neat but was on shelves, etc.) onto the floor. Then we couldn't find anything. Plus we couldn't even walk from one bay to another without tripping or getting caught... Sat, 1 Aug 2015 19:28:12 EST Baby Steps http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5969189 Yesterday the blinds were installed on the main house windows. Yah! Now I don't feel like I live in a fish bowl. They are really nice and we are happy with them.

I am in the process of painting the existing bathroom and just about done. The new color (sage-ish green but darker) looks awesome with the new shade. For the bathroom, I got white faux wood. Tomorrow I took the day off and will finish the touch up.

On other house notes, they took the template for the granite t... The swelling is better. He actually has toes again. He goes back to the surgeon on Tuesday to have the bandage changed.

Monday/Tuesday the painters came and painted all the window trim. That was such a big help! They were great. A local company, very neat and they put the furniture back. Yah!

Our furnace vent was switched over to th... Sat, 25 Jul 2015 19:01:04 EST Sunday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5963367 Today was a busy, but good day.

Hubby is healing. He stopped the pain killers. Didn't like how they made him feel and is now just taking motrin. He's sleeping most nights so that's good.

I am continuing to do it all. 24
I never knew how much he did. LOL. I think it's mostly that doing all his chores and mine doesn't leave me a lot of free time. Today I did get some me time at the pool. DH didn't want to come outside because it was so hot out. They took him into the operating room around 3:45pm and we left the hospital around 8:30pm. It was day surgery but because it was after 6pm he had to be realized from the surgical area, which took a lot longer.
When the accident happened, he didn't have much pain and immediately after not much but that was from the nerve block. Wed, 15 Jul 2015 08:17:04 EST Surgery is Monday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5958552 DH saw the surgeon and he has a ruptured quadriceps tendon. He needs surgery to reattach it to his kneecap. Because of the rupture he cannot bend his leg or really move it.
Surgery is scheduled for Monday afternoon. Today he'll have to get some lab work done in prep.

So as you can imagine everything around here is crazy. The contractor offered his guys if I need help with anything. I wish he had offered before I covered the septic cover with dirt. That was lots of fun.
<... Fri, 10 Jul 2015 10:46:04 EST Bummer! Trip to ER http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5956854 Last night as we were getting ready to go to bed, DH fell down 3 steps. He didn't turn on the light and didn't see the cat sitting on the stairs. When he felt her underfoot he took his weight off his foot and slipped. I am amazed that he didn't hit his head as it is a small space at the bottom of the stairs.

Off to the ER we went. Three hours later and an xray, the doctor tells him that he has a ruptured tendon in his knee and needs surgery. He will see the surgeon tomorrow.
... Sat, 4 Jul 2015 09:11:06 EST Things are coming together http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5953744 For once I can say that I am confident that we will be done with the addition part of our project by the end of July.

There will still (probably) be the deck work to do but I don't really care about that.

Most of the house is sided now and almost all the windows are in. We had all the windows replaced (except 2) this week and it was he!!. The mess, the lack of privacy. Ugh! And all the windows have to be painted on the inside. Just found out that is our responsibility. Yesterday I started that job and hubby started putting the curtains up. We are getting new blinds so all the windows are bare. We did get the curtains up in the room we are in so no sheets on the windows last night. That was nice.
The painting is tedious... Sun, 28 Jun 2015 07:05:59 EST Taking Control http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5950280 I have decided that I will take control during the construction project and do what I need to do to be successful. I was stressed out about the new windows in the main part of the house.
How messy will it be? How long will it take? How will they move our furniture around to even get near the windows? I decided today that it's not helping me to worry. These people are professional and competent and it'll all work out. 234

My typical at home day is to jump out of b... Wed, 24 Jun 2015 12:20:33 EST Update Construction and Otherwise http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5948069 There has been lots of activity this week with the house. 224

Went into the office on Thursday and when I came home our roof was all done. They were just finishing up when I pulled it. There were about 5-6 men "swarming" the house. My neighbor said they were like a bunch of ants working their way up the house. Very organized, each one knowing and doing his job. They were also very neat. They had a big magnet with wheels and went around picking up all the nails. They mo... Sat, 20 Jun 2015 07:01:29 EST Hoping for a Quiet Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5946529 I've been working from home mostly since the construction got under way. I didn't realize how much stress that causes. 40 I knew the overall project/upheaval would be stressful but having my quiet days at home interrupted has really thrown me off. Even my sleeping is messed up. I've been walking up in the middle of the night and having a hard time getting back to sleep.

I will say that I really like the general contractor. He is very receptive to our questions/concerns/... Wed, 17 Jun 2015 08:20:13 EST Lots of Nothing http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5945324 Yesterday was a hodge podge of things. We went to the cemeteries and "visited" our parents, then stopped at Home Depot to pick up a lamp pole I had ordered. Did another errand on the way home. I think we've picked up or ordered all the lights for the addition now. 224

At home, I finished planting flowers. Then watered everything.

Sat out by the pool in the afternoon for a couple of hours and caught up on my reading. First dip of the season was delightful. I ... Kickboxing and aerobics. I threw in some Walk it Out just to get some more steps for a fitbit challenge. I ended up walking a lot longer than I had planned because my SIL called in the middle of it, so I just kept walking to the call ended.

In the afternoon, we attended my goddaughter's last recital. It was a great show. We really enjoyed all the numbers. The little kids are so cute. We had great seats (thir... Sun, 14 Jun 2015 05:54:33 EST Mad craziness! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5943491 Finally some movement on the addition. 224 We got through the plumber switch okay. The old plumber (my neighbor) called me on Monday and he was totally okay with things. 198

Today the electrician and the plumber are here. I guess we were suppose to have picked out the lights already. Ooops! We were going next week but I think we might go tomorrow morning. Thu, 11 Jun 2015 12:41:38 EST May Recap June Goals http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5940559 Another month has flown by. It's really scary how fast it goes.

May was a mixed bag for the ol' healthy lifestyle. I was able to turn the exercise bus around. I started getting in at least 60 minutes a day and doing strength training twice a week. Ideally I'd like to get in three ST sessions. I'll keep working at that. 362

The food bus is harder to slow and turn. I'm probably up about 5 pounds since the end of the year. All my jeans are SO tight that I can't... Sat, 6 Jun 2015 06:56:13 EST Ready to Go http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5938883 Last night hubby and I signed up for Weight Watchers. We did it several years ago and were successful so I'm hoping that we will repeat.

My workouts have been great this week. Pushing myself to do harder workouts. In the past months, my workouts have been lame. 2 Monday I did 30 minutes of kickboxing and 20 minutes of upper body. Yesterday I did 45 minutes of aerobics. Haven't planned today's yet but think it'll be Total Body mixed with some treadmill and kickboxing. <... I gain a few pounds; I lose a few pounds. I am tired of it.

Today I am starting again. Hubby and I signed up for Weight Watchers meetings. We will go tomorrow after work. We did this a long time ago and had great success. I am also starting a calorie tracking challenge at the gym, using Myfitnesspal. This should be easy as I already use it. We had done a lot of the work earlier (emptying closets) but still had to move all our clothes and furniture out of the room. It was a lot of work. Yesterday was the final move. With the help of the crew, we moved our bed, bureaus and TV out of the room. Now they are located in the guest room and living room.

Our guest room already had... Also clearing out our guest room since that's where we will be living until the construction (or most of it) is complete.

The problem is where to put everything??? Too busy to even go on SP much!

Work is insane. We have an unbelievable deadline to get about 30 CBTs (small) done by last Friday. I just finished mine yesterday. Trying to juggle a few other projects at the same time. Adding to the stress of that one of my coworkers had a mild heart attack while doing colonoscopy prep. Has anyone heard of that?? Foundation is in and they will backfill at the beginning of the week and then start framing. We went to the bath showroom again (I think this is the 4th time) with the intention of ordering but left there with questions. Ugh! I need to talk to the architect about the tub again before we order it (cannot be returned).
Went out to dinner for our anniversary. Nothing fancy because of my tooth issue. Fri, 24 Apr 2015 05:59:54 EST What are my goals/plan? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5914125 Today was a great fitness day. I did 45 minutes of kickboxing first and followed it up with 45 minutes of aerobics. One of the ladies whose video I was doing said "What is your plan? You determine which segments to do when." I thought to myself, I don't have a fitness plan. I just do what I feel like at the time, which could be way I've been getting lazy.

So yesterday I did two youtube videos called Tank Top Arms. Very exciting! 104
I was wondering if the majority of my loss is due to the fact that I have been very strictly following my meal plan or if it's a combo of that and the cleanse. Probably the latter. I never lose 3lbs in 5 days or even a week.

My back continues to bother but is improving. As a result, no exercise the last three days. 46 Makes me wonder how much I could have lost if I was able. Oh ... Tue, 31 Mar 2015 08:36:03 EST Sunday - Day Four http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5901865 Half way done!! 246
Today was another good day (other than my back). Stayed within range.
No exercise due to back. Tonight it is feeling better and tomorrow I am getting a massage so I should continue to improve.

Scale went down a little more this morning. I am curious to see what the final loss is. Not expecting anything huge since I mostly make good choices.

Signed up for the 5% Spring Challenge again. It starts next week and I am looking forward... Sun, 29 Mar 2015 19:28:56 EST Saturday - Day Three http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5901326 Today is the third day of the cleanse. I must say that I REALLY dislike the fiber powder. You dissolve it in water and drink it. It reminds me of the colonoscopy prep, for those of you who have experienced it. 24 Today I added a small drop of grape juice to it and then drank it down. Afterwards, I took a swig of grape juice to get the taste out of my mouth. Blah!

Food today was mainly on plan. I realized that some of our weekend routine involves eating out and hubby wa... Sat, 28 Mar 2015 19:28:13 EST Friday - Day Two http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5900790 Status quo today. Had no ill effects of the cleanse. I slept well and had lots of energy today. I am eating a lot better now than I have been for the past month. I was derailed by my vacation in February. This is correcting that behavior.

I must admit that I miss my cheese. I don't use a ton of it but do enjoy it in omelets and sandwiches. Eating hummus and carrots for snacks.

Scale moved down this morning. Could just be from eating right. 246

<... Fri, 27 Mar 2015 18:24:30 EST Thursday - Day One http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5900237 I started the cleanse and healthy eating today and the day went well. I've had lots of energy and have been eating healthy food, no junk! 104

I was just thinking that I need to get some blood work done and next week after I complete Day 7 would be a great time. I will be curious to see the numbers.

Other than that it was a quiet day. Did some training for the 5K and some yoga.

See you tomorrow! Thu, 26 Mar 2015 19:22:21 EST Getting Back to It http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5899645 I must admit that my exercise has been lacking or lagging a bit since the 5% challenge ended. I have been trying to get it back and get my eating in line too!

Today I tried to see my trainer but our schedules didn't jive so I took myself to the gym and worked out. Tried a new elliptical workout. It's pretty tough.

3i133rqau023qjc1k3txdvr1.wpengine.ne
tdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/0
3/Elliptical_LunchTimeCalorieCrunchPRINT.pdf

I stopped at t... Wed, 25 Mar 2015 20:17:27 EST Sunday Update http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5897541 Wow cannot believe that a week has passed since my last blog.
It was a kind of crazy week.

A coworker's mother passed and we went to the funeral on Wednesday and Thursday I went to the wake of a college friend's sister. She was only 60 and died of cancer. I feel so badly for my friend as she and her sister were both unmarried and basically lived together. They lived in the 2-family that was their family's, but each had their own floor. Very sad.

Thursday I made it ... Sun, 22 Mar 2015 13:59:04 EST Lazy Saturday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5893168 Yesterday was a lazy day. I sleep in a little (for me). Planned my food for the day and had a good workout. Continuing my 5K training. After that did some strength training and stretching.

After lunch went shopping with a gift card I received for my birthday, something I don't do alot. Stayed local. Picked up a cute blouse and then popped into the grocery store to get a few things. The store was decorated for 440 St Pat's Day. The managers were wearing green jackets an...
