I've been struggling lately and it really helped being home today, where it was quiet and almost stress free.

Yesterday I had a biopsy on a "freckle" that was on my lip. I don't get the results until Thursday. I am not really worried about it. I have a few others in my mouth that the doctor says looks like familiar freckles. I did get some help from another coworker but he works very slowly so I did most of it.
I have been glued to my desk since Friday. Yesterday I finished the main CBT and it is being reviewed now. We've stayed, we've gone places and seen things, visited with family and friends. Made some decisions about things. All good!

We took a shopping trip on Thursday to some outlets in NH that opened last year. I liked them. Not being a big shopper, that was a big thing. Tue, 22 Jul 2014 09:30:46 EST Training http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5741004 Yesterday was another session with the trainer. He's very cautious with my back (which is good) but is also frustrating. I feel like yesterday's session was more like my sessions with the old trainer. We spent half of the time doing balance exercises and a few where he was judging my "issues." He told me that last week while doing lunges that I grimaced. Of course, I wasn't aware of that. I told him that I have so many aches and pains that come and go that I mostly ignore them.
Anyway...... Because of that I knew that I wouldn't get a lot of steps yesterday when my friend was over so I pushed myself to get my workout in early.

First treadmill walk/jog, then 2 short kettlebell workouts from youtube and then some Wii just for fun. Mon, 14 Jul 2014 11:58:07 EST Tracking New and Old and a major accomplishment http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5737321 I've been tracking the usual - food and calories and the other day my trainer came up with something new: balance. On WiiFit you can do a simple test that measures your weight, bmi, and balance every day. I care about the first two but not every day. The balance is something that I am going to track every day.
I've noticed that some days my balance is better than others.
I've only tracked it two days but on Friday i was leaning more to the right and today I was almost perfectly b... Last night pizza and ice cream. 15

I found a month meal plan on SP that has 84 quick meals and I am going to try to pick from it for the rest of the week and see how it goes.
If you are interested here's the article
www.sparkpeople.com/resource/nutriti
on_articles.asp?id=1... Thu, 15 May 2014 08:38:55 EST Tough Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5693194 Yesterday was Mother's Day...... the first one without my mother. 46

We started the day by taking her flowers at the cemetery. It was a beautiful day and I know that she loved the flowers. 125

From there we hit the grocery store. A place that we have not been for about a month. Our cupboards were bare and we were eating out too much. After putting all the groceries away, we went down to my mother's house. We wanted to finish cleaning out the at... Mon, 12 May 2014 08:46:30 EST Sweating out the blues http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5691320 The last few days have been tough and I’m not a cry baby. My husband tells me I’m strong. Who else would expect to be gardening after having dental surgery?

I don’t think of myself like that, obviously, and I just push on, doing what needs to be done, and then go to the next thing without really thinking. Isn't that what everyone does??
I think I get this from my Dad, who worked so hard he didn’t even notice a slight heart attack.

Today I was blue, sad, and glum.... Fri, 9 May 2014 12:47:41 EST Quick Update http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5689494 Yesterday I took the day off from work. I had dental surgery and thought that I could use the rest of the day to work at my mother's house. Didn't happen.
I went down there early to pack the car with things for Salvation Army. They take a lot and I wanted to get it out of the house. Of course, they don't help you upload it so I was dragging these boxes around.
My dental surgery went well but the doctor told me to rest the rest of the day and I was bummed. The dumpster arrived and I... Wed, 7 May 2014 06:44:05 EST Crunch Time http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5688371 This is a bittersweet time for me. On a positive note, we have just about cleaned out the first floor of my mother's house. There is still furniture and I'm trying to find a home for it but man are these donation places picky. Many only take small items (up to an end table) and many don't have the means to make on demand pickups.
Funny thing - one of the signs was left up from the estate sale and a lady came by on Sunday while we were cleaning. My DH told her that the sale was over but i... Mon, 5 May 2014 21:00:19 EST May Goals http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5685205 My mid-April goals were pretty simple

Track everything I eat, every day.

Exercise for 10 minutes every day.

Spend 10 minutes alone time every day.

Spend time playing with the kitties every day.

I will score myself at 70 for these goals. I probably scored an 85 for all the goals but the tracking food goal. I did better than the first part of April but not great.

Today I made up my mind to stay on track. I had a nice salad f... Thu, 1 May 2014 19:37:47 EST Things http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5682902 Tomorrow is our 20th anniversary and we booked a little getaway for the weekend. It's not that far - about an hour away but I think it'll give us a much needed and deserved break from all the madness.

Yesterday I spent sometime cleaning up from the estate sale. It went okay but the weather didn't help. Then after the sales people removed their tables, it left all this "junk" on the floor. Not very good when the carpets have to be removed. 40
Today is trash day so ... Tue, 29 Apr 2014 06:46:34 EST I Beat Last Year's Time!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5681809 Today was the 5K race in my town. I really didn't want to go. Mostly because so much is going on in my life that I can't get out of my own way sometimes. Hubby said "You are not a quitter, " and suggested that we dedicate the race to our parents.

So that's what we did. We marked their initials on our bibs and hit the road.
The weather here was raw and damp with showers. Yucky, in other words! I wore two shirts and a hoodie and wished I had brought gloves. About halfway through... Sun, 27 Apr 2014 18:31:41 EST Good Workout! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5679249 Yesterday I met with my trainer and had a good workout. It was little more intense that we had been doing and I liked it!

He tends to have me do more sets with smaller number of reps.

Four sets of:
overhead press with back lunge
rowing
leg lifts with weighted bar
crunches
seated and pulled 75lb punching bag across floor

Then two sets of
assisted pullups
squats with medicine ball
bicep curls
finished with 2min run ...
