Sun, 7 Feb 2016 07:11:53 EST Yesterday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6085540 My aunt is home and doing well. Talked to her on the phone yesterday.

Yesterday was a banner fitness day for me. I am in a couple of fitbit challenges and I wanted to start out well. I went to the gym. Used the elliptical and then did some ST. Lately I have not been pushing myself to do the tough exercises but did yesterday. Made myself do the pull-ins on the gliders. Gliders are discs that slide on the floor. You are in a plank with your feet on gliders and you slide them in tow... Tue, 2 Feb 2016 06:37:52 EST Update on my aunt http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6083666 My aunt is being released from the hospital tomorrow. They are not sending her to rehab. She had a couple of setbacks while in the hospital and she stopped eating. My uncle called me on Friday and asked if I could come up and try to get her to eat. When I arrived about an hour later, she had a rally and had was eating again. Apparently she had another issue that they resolved and after, feeling better, she started eating.

We talked to the case manager and she suggested hospice car... Sun, 31 Jan 2016 06:32:30 EST What's Going on http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6080360 The pot luck went okay. I didn't like a lot of the foods. 246 Seemed to be tasteless and hence, not worth my calories. I ate the pear salad I brought and a few little things. Did have a tiny piece of two different brownies. Each piece was about an inch square.
The problem I had with food this week was not the potluck but hubby's birthday dinner this weekend and the leftovers from it. We had chinese food and italian rum cake - my all time favorite! Let's just say that we (most... Wed, 27 Jan 2016 07:23:04 EST It's Easier to Turn a Ship Around http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6074822 Don't you think it must be easier to turn a 340 around than it is to exercise, eat right, and lose weight? All the things that we have to do to be successful - eat right........... ah.. really? I can't have that piece of cake and I have to exercise? Oh man, I hate to sweat. Have willpower? Oh come on, if SHE can have it, why can't I?

These are all thoughts that I've had over the numerous years that I've been trying to lose weight and still have. Why I bring this up is ... Wed, 20 Jan 2016 19:45:31 EST Terrific Tuesday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6067381 OK. Terrific Tuesday is kind of dramatic. 246 I really didn't have a title for the blog so there you go.

Last week was pretty crazy at work and I didn't have a lot of extra time for much. I had to work hard at getting my workouts in but I some how managed. My current projects involve a lot of meetings so my day is chopped up. How does anyone get anything done with all these meetings?? I've decided that I pay a lot for my gym membership and since I'm only in the office 3... Tue, 12 Jan 2016 07:08:20 EST Last Session with my Trainer http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6060353 46 I am so bummed!! Today was the last day with my trainer.
She leaves Friday for a new job at a new company. I am up in the air about training going forward. My trainer told me that she spoke with one of the other instructors at the gym and she doesn't know if she wants to train. I didn't know that they have the option not too since it is an offered service (although it costs extra above gym membership). I will talk to the overall gym manager when I see him about it just so I... Mon, 4 Jan 2016 19:14:18 EST January Goals and other things http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6057170 Happy New Year!! 408
With the new month (and year) comes some reflection and goal setting.

How did I do last year? Overall, it was a good year in terms of health and fitness.
When I look at the specifics I am disappointed in myself. 2

15 I've gained about 5lbs over the year (probably more if you count how I lost and gained the same ones over and over again).

My strength training days declined immensely. Met with my trainer (the old trainer that came back to my faciity). It was an 345 workout!! Funny thing was that I almost cancelled. I had done a Tabata workout the day before and was really sore and dragging but I pushed myself to go and the workout was incredible.
Lots of crazy things: Plank jacks, alternating side pushups over a Bosu ball, mountain climbers, lunges on Bosu with overhead press, rope pulls, bridges over the Bosu with a weigh... Tue, 29 Dec 2015 13:39:27 EST Still Plugging Along http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6053343 I am still moving along and tweaking my plan. My eating has not been great and I decided to cut myself some slack for the holidays. I've done well not taking things home from events so that I won't be tempted later. That being said, there are still tempting foods in the house. Santa gave me a little chocolate 29 but didn't go crazy. I will eat it over the next week and then it will be gone.

I am coming up with a new workout plan based on my registration for BLC30 and wi... I classify them as good because I felt good at the end of the day.

Sunday was lots of fun. We went to see a performance of A Christmas Carol at a local theatre. The show was great. Lots of special effects for such a small place. The man who plays Scrooge was awesome. After the show we went to dinner. Sat, 19 Dec 2015 13:03:05 EST A Little Creativity - What do you think? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6043963 I've really gotten into those battery-operated remote-control candles. First I purchased 3 to use as nightlights in the hallway in our room. Then I purchased 3 more to put on the edge of the tub surround. They certainly are relaxing to look at while soaking.

I've been looking for something Christmasy to put on the tub surround. Oh the plumber finished the plumbing and left. He was to install the hot water heater and hook up the heat but bagged out of those because he is too busy. We were happy to get rid of him. He is one of the main reasons that this project dragged on. If you remember, my neighbor is a plumber and was originally going to work on the project. I think it's mostly that doing all his chores and mine doesn't leave me a lot of free time. Today I did get some me time at the pool. DH didn't want to come outside because it was so hot out. I took my f... Sun, 19 Jul 2015 19:10:30 EST Updates http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5961089 Hubby's surgery was a success! We had to be at the hospital by 1. They took him into the operating room around 3:45pm and we left the hospital around 8:30pm. It was day surgery but because it was after 6pm he had to be realized from the surgical area, which took a lot longer.
When the accident happened, he didn't have much pain and immediately after not much but that was from the nerve block. He kept fighting taking the pain meds until it caught up with him yesterday morning. I felt so ... Wed, 15 Jul 2015 08:17:04 EST Surgery is Monday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5958552 DH saw the surgeon and he has a ruptured quadriceps tendon. He needs surgery to reattach it to his kneecap. Because of the rupture he cannot bend his leg or really move it.
Surgery is scheduled for Monday afternoon. Today he'll have to get some lab work done in prep.

So as you can imagine everything around here is crazy. The contractor offered his guys if I need help with anything. I wish he had offered before I covered the septic cover with dirt. That was lots of fun.
<... Fri, 10 Jul 2015 10:46:04 EST Bummer! Trip to ER http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5956854 Last night as we were getting ready to go to bed, DH fell down 3 steps. He didn't turn on the light and didn't see the cat sitting on the stairs. When he felt her underfoot he took his weight off his foot and slipped. I am amazed that he didn't hit his head as it is a small space at the bottom of the stairs.

Off to the ER we went. Three hours later and an xray, the doctor tells him that he has a ruptured tendon in his knee and needs surgery. He will see the surgeon tomorrow.
... Tue, 7 Jul 2015 10:07:38 EST Tub arrived! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5955300 The tub finally arrived for our new bathroom.

I will post some photos when it is unpacked and in place.
The plumber and three of the contractor's guys pushed it up the ladder and into the space on Thursday.

Thursday was a wild day around here. Everyone was busy except the cats. LOL!
The contractors moved the tub in and replaced our bay window. That was pretty scary to wa... Sat, 4 Jul 2015 09:11:06 EST Things are coming together http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5953744 For once I can say that I am confident that we will be done with the addition part of our project by the end of July.

There will still (probably) be the deck work to do but I don't really care about that.

Most of the house is sided now and almost all the windows are in. The bay window and a couple of smaller ones are left. Those will be done tomorrow. The windows are vinyl-clad wood. the trim is primed but the inside of the windows aren't. I started painting last weeke... Wed, 1 Jul 2015 07:44:24 EST End of the week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5952095 40 This is how I feel. We had all the windows replaced (except 2) this week and it was he!!. The mess, the lack of privacy. Ugh! And all the windows have to be painted on the inside. Just found out that is our responsibility. Yesterday I started that job and hubby started putting the curtains up. We are getting new blinds so all the windows are bare. We did get the curtains up in the room we are in so no sheets on the windows last night. That was nice.
The painting is tedious... Sun, 28 Jun 2015 07:05:59 EST Taking Control http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5950280 I have decided that I will take control during the construction project and do what I need to do to be successful. I was stressed out about the new windows in the main part of the house.
How messy will it be? How long will it take? How will they move our furniture around to even get near the windows? I decided today that it's not helping me to worry. These people are professional and competent and it'll all work out. 234

My typical at home day is to jump out of b...
