She has definitely ramped it up and brought out one of my LEAST favorite exercises ... Fri, 7 Oct 2016 06:46:45 EST Trainer http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6244015 Good news on the trainer front!

Yesterday I met with her for my fourth session. She started out with having me do the same set of exercises. When she asked me how that felt. I said "Very easy. It's been pretty easy all along." Well......... I think that flipped a switch because the rest of the workout was intense.

She had me pushing the sled with 90lbs of weight on it. Bicep/tricep extensions with 10lb weights, some difficult core exercises. All good. Started feeling th... Fri, 30 Sep 2016 07:18:11 EST When You Think You are Doing Well http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6241055 So I found a Mediterranean plan that I've been following mostly. I say mostly because I did make a few substitutions.
Well I guess I haven't been following it too closely......... 40 the 192 has not moved.
So I went back to the numbers

Turns out that I forgot about all those days when I exceeded my calories by a "few" hundred. It looks like it was pr... Sat, 24 Sep 2016 10:37:19 EST ALZ Walk http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6238042 Well, the weather could have been a lot better for today's Walk to End Alzheimer's but it didn't stop us.

We met up with my team from work. Unfortunately about half of the people didn't show up, guessing because of the weather.

We walked around the lot a bit. Checked in. Were recognized for our fund-raising efforts with a medal. You can see it in the photos. There was a 3-mi... Sun, 18 Sep 2016 18:26:55 EST Check in http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6237233 I had my second visit with the trainer. It is going slowly (no sweat LOL) but she says that she is watching form and adjusting. She doesn't have me do any heart-raising exercise between sets, which I don't like. The old trainer always includes something between sets that raised my heart rate. Will mention this to new trainer.

Went for my annual dr visit yesterday and I have gained 4lbs. Not a surprise, and she didn't seem concerned by it, but I am. I just don't want it to keep mul... Sat, 17 Sep 2016 07:11:52 EST A Great Sense of Loss and a New Beginning http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6233757 OK. The title may be a bit dramatic but that's how I feel.... about the removal of the lovely hemlocks border. You see, the hemlocks belong to our neighbor and she decided to take them down to the tune of $10,000!!! There are about 20 on each side of her property. They are about 50-60 feet tall and about 60 years old.

This is the view that I use to have from our pool.

This is... Sun, 11 Sep 2016 06:46:30 EST New Trainer http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6229826 I had my first session with the new trainer on Thursday. It went well. It was mostly a session for her to assess where I am and how I move, etc., but I was still sore the next day.

We did a lot of core work and also used the new Trex system. I used it to do rows but because it used my body weight, I really felt it through my upper back the next day.

She told me that I will have "homework" and that will be to do the routine 2-3 times during the week on my own. Not sure t... Sun, 4 Sep 2016 06:41:29 EST September Goals http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6227757 I have been struggling with food choices and just eating too much. My willpower seems to have gone bye-bye. 39 I was reading an article about ways to improve your willpower and one of the suggestions was to be more mindful of decisions. Questioning something as simple as why am I having a cup of tea immediately upon getting out of bed will help me be more mindful. No more autopiloting choices.

My goals for the month are:

Exercise 5x a week and burn at least 3... Wed, 31 Aug 2016 12:51:32 EST Met with the Trainer http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6225222 Met with the new trainer last Wednesday. I think I'm going to like her.
You know how they say you can't judge a book by its cover? I guess that was what I had been doing with the trainer. She's worked at the gym for a few years now but she is very quiet and reserved. I picked her through process of elimination (one trainer is new and the other seems a little odd). Well, I think I'm going to like her! She seems to be very bright and so far, knows her stuff. We will see. We start next Thur... Sat, 27 Aug 2016 06:41:35 EST Fun Day/updates http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6222955 Saturday we went to a friend's house for a relaxing day and dinner. She lives in a lovely coastal town. We hung out at her house, then went for a drive to the reservation and walked some trails and went to the top of the observation tower. The weather had finally dried and cooled a bit and there was a nice breeze.
Here's a few photos from the reservation.

<img src="http://p... Tue, 23 Aug 2016 07:43:55 EST Alzheimer's Walk http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6219461 Things are going pretty well in my little part of the world. 20

Work was slow but just got busier so days are flying. We booked our little trip to visit my goddaughter at college in October. We are also going to GA where they film The Walking Dead and taking a couple of tours there. Should be very different from the trips we usually take. 226 105

DH and I had our first weigh in yesterday. We are both down 1/2 pound. We definitely cou...
