I am now on medication for my issue with frequency and leaking. I am not having those problems any more. I do, however, have dry mouth that I am learning to deal with. (Wish I could use some of the OTC products for that, but they contain dairy which I cannot have.) The surgery that the doc thought I may need can be put off until the condition worsens.. eventually. I go back in 3 months.

The bad news.... Gr... Sun, 27 Nov 2011 00:55:00 EST Updates.... sickness, work, and death. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4553441 Wow.. It's been a while since I've been able to get on and rally with my groups. I guess it started with the girls being on Fall Break. They dominated the computer, then I got sick. I've had this crud since then, and now hubbie's had it about a week.

I'm doing a Santa's Shoppe on November 5th selling some of my knitting and gran's crocheting. I've been knitting scarves like mad. I've also been sub-teaching a lot, too.

School has only been in session for 45 days, I think... Tue, 25 Oct 2011 23:41:57 EST My Date with the Urologist http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4545807 Well, I went to the urologist today to discuss my "frequency without urination" problem that led into a sometimes "leaking" issue. Well as I suspected, the hysterectomy has led to my bladder dropping "slightly." He says it is not too much of an issue, right now. He says having two kids didn't help that matter, either. So, I have to do "exercises" to help strengthen the muscles, take some medication to "relax the bladder," and I have to go back to see him in a month for more testing. He comes ... Fri, 21 Oct 2011 00:29:37 EST My DD Singing the National Anthem http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4507697 My DD was asked to sing the National Anthem at her middle school football game. I think she did pretty good for not having practiced in the press box and having the feed back caused by the sound system at the field. It was quite an honor, and we are proud of her. Tue, 27 Sep 2011 23:34:23 EST My DD.... Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4413023 Wow!! It's all I can say. The show that these kids put on has been amazing. They worked so hard all summer learning their lines and songs. They put the show together in only 9 days.

I was so impressed by my DD. When she is singing or running lines at home, I see all the flaws and ways she can improve. On that stage, she was PERFECT!

After her first song, there were so many people clapping (not just politely) and whooping and hollering. I nearly lost my breath. The man ne... Sun, 7 Aug 2011 20:55:40 EST I'm tired of being held hostage! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4380362 Okay... I'm tired of being held hostage.

So many things in our lives hold us hostage. Many of the things that hold us hostage are not under our control... family, stuff at the job, taxes; but other stuff we can control and that is how we handle all that other stuff within ourselves.

Here's the reason for my vent.

Six years ago, my husband and I made the decision to move my maternal grandmother in with our family to keep her out of a nursing home. So almost a y... Sat, 23 Jul 2011 00:35:01 EST She got the part... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4218725 Well, in my last blog I told you that my girls had tried out for the summer theater workshops. We found out Saturday that my older daughter got the part she wanted in Guys and Dolls. She will play the part of Adelaide. She has 4 songs, three are solos. Her "love interest" is the son of the lady who is directing the play. It will definitely be good. He has lots of experience in the theater, and they are already good friends. So, they will play well off each other. In fact, they read lines toge... Sun, 8 May 2011 18:56:54 EST My girls and their theatrical pursuits. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4201054 I love my girls. They are so talented and love to pursue a lot more than I did at their ages.

My little one was selected as the professor in her school play, Wackadoo Zoo. The teacher rewrote the play and added a second professor just in case either of the girls got sick on performance day. (Educated thinking... lol). She also tried out for the summer theater workshop. Forty-five children tried out (wow). Only 30 tried out last year. My DD got the part of Castle Staffer in The Prin... Sat, 30 Apr 2011 20:54:24 EST Weight Gain (I'm sticking my tongue out.. raspberry!) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4135730 Okay, so some of you have prodded me about the weight gain. Yes, I know and THANK YOU! I'm happy you are concerned. It gives me accountability.!!!

I was doing good for a while and hit a plateau. I was okay with the plateau because I was in the mid-140's which was better than I've been in quite a while... Then... I had the hysterectomy. I don't know what it was about it, but I just put on the weight. I didn't change anything about what I was eating or doing besides getting off the b... Fri, 1 Apr 2011 23:50:31 EST Took my little one to the ER last night http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4071190 Okay, How many times do we parents say... "stop that or you will get hurt?" And how many times do they actually listen????

Well, the little one was "spinning" (like break dancing) on the hard wood floor last night when I uttered those infamous words. She promptly lost her balance and hit the floor with her chin. At first I thought she had busted her lip with the way she was crying. But, I pulled her into my lap to find a perfect arch about an inch long busted wide open all the way ... Sun, 6 Mar 2011 19:28:42 EST Surgery finally done... doing okay http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3851603 Well, I was finally able to have my surgery on Tuesday. I stayed over night in the OB unit. It was so quite except for the sounds of babies. Nice! (Though I'll never have any more... not like I planned on it.) Sad to say, but I enjoyed the time away from the family. It was kind of a destress-time. The pain meds are doing their job pretty well. (alternating every 3 hours between ibuprophen and lortab when hurting, otherwise alternating meds every 6 hours)

I'm weight restricted (no m... Sun, 19 Dec 2010 00:34:53 EST UCES Voices - DD's Choral Group http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3826491 This is one of the songs from my older daughter's choral group's 2010 Christmas program. (I tried uploading the whole program, but it was taking way too long. The whole program is about 16 minutes in all.) Sun, 5 Dec 2010 23:34:08 EST DD had a great show! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3466241 I have to say that I am impressed more and more each time I see my daughter perform. She was very animated. She did great with her lines. She was the most "out there" dancer on stage. Even when she had a wardrobe malfunction, she didn't let that mess her up. (The "dress up" top they had on her as a rock lobster came undone all the way down the back. She was wearing a white leotard underneath....They changed her costume, again.)

Everyone did a great job... even the kid who usually... Sat, 24 Jul 2010 23:35:12 EST Tomorrow is my DD's big day.... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3463711 Saturday is opening night for my older daughter's debut in Alice in Wonderland, Jr. She is playing Matilda, Alice's sister, who is teaching her a history lesson. Then, she has the part of a Rock Lobster, front row center, leading the pack. And, she is playing the part of the Petunia of "The Golden Afternoon" flowers. She has parts in half of the songs in the play. While she has done plays before, this is the first time she has had mulitple parts that all have speaking or singing lines.
... Fri, 23 Jul 2010 23:53:18 EST A True Blessing http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3449234 I just had to share our family's blessing.

The girls and I went to the chuch building today to place our order for Angel Food (a ministry that our church is a distributor for). Since the secretary's office is small, I asked the girls to wait in the two chairs out in the hall. Well, my little one started calling her sister's name telling her there was a backpack with her name on it between the chairs. Lo and behold, there were two backpacks... one for my older DD and one for the you... Mon, 19 Jul 2010 23:29:32 EST My Denise Needles http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3402533 Okay, so I asked advice and got one comment so I did a lot of internet research to find out how people liked the different types of interchangeable circular needles. I found that most people loved the Denise brand. So, that is what I got. I was able to get it on a site that gave me free shipping. I got it in half the time they suggested that it would take, too.

So far, I've been too busy to knit much of anything; but I have knitted a hat to go along with a pair of 6 month baby boo... Tue, 6 Jul 2010 00:21:02 EST Knitter needs advice... interchangeable circulars http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3348066 I've seen on some of the threads that some of you use interchangeable circular needles. So far, I've just be using what I can get at my local supercenter. We don't have any speciality stores near here. So, I've been very limited to the patterns I can follow since my only circulars are a size 3 US.

I'd like to buy a set of the interchangeable circular needles. I've looked up some on the internet. I've found them priced from $45 to $65. Some are wood, some are metal, and some are acr... Fri, 18 Jun 2010 15:36:13 EST Girls lead Ladies church service http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3331338 Tonight the young people of our congregation lead church services. The boys lead the men's service in the sanctuary, and the girls lead the women in the fellowship hall. My daughters both took part. My older daugher (age 10) lead the first song of the service and then gave the middle part of a 3 part service on the birth, death, and resurrection of Christ. Her daddy helped her write it. My young daughter (age 5... and a half) read the passage John 14:1-4. It was obvious that I was gushing wit... Sun, 13 Jun 2010 23:34:14 EST The case is over.... but not in my sleep http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3272208 The case is over after a full day of trial and a full day of deliberations. It was very difficult to make decisions where the law isn't cut and dry. There are so many words that are supposed to be common sense but really mean so many different things to different people. I'm just thankful to God that He gave me someone on our jury that has a degree in criminal justice and was able to explain the meaning behind each of the charges beyond what was just written down on our instruction sheets. We... Wed, 26 May 2010 23:40:52 EST No more teaching... just jury duty! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3264291 Well, It's my birthday; and of course, I got chosen for jury duty. WHY did I have to get chosen for THIS one?!? Not because it is my birthday but because of the nature of the case.... which I cannot discuss. Let's just say I've cried. The trial isn't over yet. We have to return again tomorrow. I pray that God will give me the fortitude to make it through without breaking down in court. I held out today. Hopefully, we can come to a decision tomorrow and be done. They will dismiss two of the 14... Wed, 19 May 2010 22:54:17 EST Older daughter in Alice in Wonderland, Jr. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3231198 Well, I've been waiting for the call; and after calling and leaving a message, I finally got that call. My older daughter was "promised" a major part in Alice in Wonderland, Jr. Well, I wouldn't call what she got a major part, but I would call it a major job.

She got the part of Matilda, Alice's sister, who is trying to teach Alice a history lesson. Sun, 28 Mar 2010 23:06:11 EST Dad and S-BIL in Hospital http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3051069 Well, I guess my dad was up trying to do too much too soon. Sat, 20 Feb 2010 23:17:03 EST My first day of Jury Duty http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2825131 Well, it definitely did NOT go as I anticipated. We got there, and all turned in our identification papers. The circuit court clerk then called roll. The judge came in and explained the "rules" to us. Then, he picked names out of a box to serve on the Grand Jury. Why couldn't I have won the lottery on that one? If I had, I would have only had to serve out the rest of the day and I'd have been done.

Now, I have to call in on the specified day to see if court will be in session the f... Sun, 24 Jan 2010 00:45:42 EST Christmas Cheer and a Happy New Year http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2658000 Hello all my friends,

We had a good Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We "partied" at my twin sister's house. We ate ham (cooked by my sister), chicken (mine), and a deep-fried Boston butt (cooked by dad... he took home the leftovers after the meal). Needless to say, we had enough meat left for lunch and dinner on Christmas Day. We fed 17 on Christmas Eve and 9 on Christmas Day.

We got our girls hand-held Didj games. Sun, 27 Dec 2009 00:42:44 EST I got a new scale!!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2584677 Well, I hated the way that my old scale was weighing. Every time I got on it and got off, the dial wasn't on zero any more. So, I went out on a limb and paid a bit more than I typically would and bought a Weight Watchers scale. It is digitial and holds information on 10 different users. You put in your height and gender when setting up your user profile. It measures your weight, bmi, water %, and fat %.

So, I've decided that since my weight is going to change based on my cycle that... Sun, 25 Oct 2009 23:40:27 EST School, sub teaching, etc. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2429165 First, I'd like to thank all of you who are praying for Jas, her family, and all the doctors and nurses who are caring for her at St. Jude's.

As many of you know, I started substitute teaching this year. My first day was September 10. I worked Thursday and Friday that week and the following week. This week, however, has been quite different. Mondays are my volunteer days at the school. I didn't "work" that day. The vice principal asked me to cover for the computer teacher the rest ... Fri, 25 Sep 2009 19:11:16 EST Friend of daughter's needs prayers... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2418717 I would love for everyone to pray for a friend of my older daughter's. Her nickname is Jas. She is in St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis. She has a rare type of brain cancer called Germinoma. She was having trouble with her sight, and then they found the tumor. She had surgery at LeBonheur's Children's Hospital on August 31, just before her 9th birthday. Jas is currently undergoing radiation treatments.

We knew that there was something wrong, but the school only recently tol... Mon, 21 Sep 2009 23:45:00 EST Long Week... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2390117 It's been a long week, eventhough I guess "technically" it's only a four day week.

I had to take Gran back to the doctor to check on the UTI that she had. The antibiotic cleared up one bacteria but not the other. So, more meds. That was Wednesday.

This morning I substituted for a 1st grade teacher who thankfully had a student teacher who actually did the teaching. It was an easier first ever subbing day with her teaching. I actually was supposed to sub for a 3rd grade te... Thu, 10 Sep 2009 22:59:30 EST Small World... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2378795 Here's my story:

It was Labor Day weekend, but it was a Sunday like any other. I was with my family and nephews sitting on the "almost" front pew when I saw our "pew mates" come in. It's a man in his 50's with his mom. But following him was someone I recognized. Or did I? My brain sometimes plays tricks with me. I decided on the "wait and see" strategy.

The man, his wife, and three daughters followed Mr. P and his mother to "our" pew. Hum? Why do I know this man? From wh... Sun, 6 Sep 2009 23:44:10 EST "Living with my pain".... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2372342 Thank you all for your concerns over what the gastroenterologist said about "living with my pain." I totally agree with you. I don't ever agree to "just let it go." There has to be someone who can give me an answer.

I actually am planning on seeing a different kind of doctor... an ob/gyn.

I know, it sounds strange to see a "woman" doctor about something that seems like it might not be related to women's issues; however, it was a gyn that caused me to have the ultrasound ... Thu, 3 Sep 2009 23:37:28 EST Tests results.... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2369519 I guess it is one of those "good news, bad news" kind of things....

I had a large polyp that was removed during my colonoscopy. It was tested for cancer. It had 3 of the 4 "qualities" that they look for to call it "cancer." So, the doctor says it was a "pre-cancerous" tumor and that I must come back in one year for another colonscopy to see if any more polyps are growing. So, that's the good news... no cancer. The bad news... I still don't know what this burning pain in my back is.... Wed, 2 Sep 2009 23:56:31 EST
