Mon, 20 Jan 2014 07:36:53 EST Are we http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5530349 I read an article about a woman who finally had weight loss click for her when she quit categorizing food (and herself) as good or bad. She focused on healthy eating, exercising and the only number she fixated on was increasing her reps, distance and endurance.

This definitely struck a cord with me. For as long as I can remember I have been "on" or "off" a plan been "good" or "bad." I am not sure how to undo so many years of this kind of thinking but I am going to give it the ol... Sat, 2 Nov 2013 20:22:56 EST Let the healing begin http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5519799 Saw the doctor today. He said I did a fantastic job tearing it up! Will be having surgery this week and I will have to be off work rather I want to or not.

This has been such a crazy year with almost losing my Dad multiple times over the last 7 mos. Thank God he is doing great now. Then all the craziness at work and of course just life in general. Mon, 21 Oct 2013 21:46:00 EST Sunday not so fun day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5518693 The day started out beautiful. 67 Felt great, got few chores finished and went out for a bike ride 332 at about 9:30. I really pushed myself and rode further than I have so far. 224 Started the ride with the uphill part so I could relax (and catch my breath) on the way back home.

Got back in front of the house and instead of stopping to open the door I tried to keep moving and do it. You can probably see where this is going. Lost my balance,... Sun, 20 Oct 2013 18:24:12 EST Day 17 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5516485 Starting to feel some relief 321 , went to the doctor on Tuesday I have been struggling with neck and pain that I assumed was just sore muscles for about a week. It was getting worse in spite of taking a anti-inflammatory 273 and using heat. By Tuesday the pain was going down my arm and was more than I could take. The doctor said it was Cervical muscle spasms. 527 So as of today the neck is feeling pretty good and the arm is starting to ease up. Hoping ... Sun, 13 Oct 2013 21:55:19 EST Day 12 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5511914 Went camping this weekend. Enjoyed the great outdoors got in some exercise with hiking and exploring. 295 The weather was beautiful. 36 Had a great time. I am a little tired now but it was worth it. It is the 1st weekend in about 7 mos that I was able to enjoy time away with my husband and not have to worry about my dad. Tue, 8 Oct 2013 23:03:25 EST Day 7 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5507428 Today was a rest day. Took a walk on my break and did some window shopping at lunch. I overate today and am paying for it now. I feel awful. It tasted great while I was eating it but now I am miserable. I still cannot figure out why I cannot stop eating. You know the switch that turns off when you have eaten enough...mine is broken. Well maybe not broken. It turns off but I just ignore it and keep on going. Someday I will find the answer to this elusive problem!

Day 7 is in... Mon, 7 Oct 2013 22:06:13 EST Day 6 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5506315 Today was good. The weather was beautiful. Had a lot of making up to do from yesterday's migraine. Had a lot of chores to get done. Went and helped out at Mom and Dad's since Dad just got home from the rehab hospital. We have had to redesign their living room to accommodate all of the medical equipment. Was able to get a ride in on my bike as well as a ride with my hubby on the Harley. Got in a lot of steps. All in all it was a good day.

Back to the grind and the Monday-Fr... Drank water 194 instead of soda. Came home and made dinner. Got up this morning did some cardio and strength training. Got up and moved more during the day instead of staying glued to my desk. In the afternoon the "I need something sweet" 475 hit me. I tried to ignore it but it didn't work. The resolution? Took a break, walked 311 to Fresh and Easy bought dried fruit, walked back to work and ate few pieces. Sweet craving nixed!

So the tour is on it's way and going well. T... Wed, 2 Oct 2013 21:27:22 EST Consistency Tour begins today...Day 1 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5501069 They say the definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. I am giving up on "crazy" and starting a new way of thinking. After reading many Spark blogs and success stories I noticed they all had one thing in common. Once they became consistent with exercise and tracking they success followed.

I am great for giving advice and being able to motivate people but some how it never translates to my own life. I read a blog last night wh... Tue, 1 Oct 2013 07:20:04 EST The price of healthy food http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5478973 It occurred to me today as I was grocery shopping how we view the price of food. You often hear people say it is too expensive to eat healthy. I was thinking this as I picked up a bag of grapes that ended up costing over $4.00. Then I thought I wouldn't think anything about $5.00 for ice cream or $20.00 for a pizza. And in the end what is the real cost of junk/convenience food.

You will definitely pay for more for these items in the end with your health, with a lack of energy ... Sat, 7 Sep 2013 21:18:30 EST Changes http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5468268 My office moved to a new location about 5 years ago. Today was the 1st time that I took advantage of the beautiful park right down the road. For lunch instead of moving from my desk where I sit all day into the cafeteria to sit for another hour I went to the park and walked for lunch. If felt great. Enjoyed the peace and quiet time. Took in all the sights. Watched the ducks and geese in lake. The stress of the morning seemed to disappear and I had a new energy for the rest of day. I d... Tue, 27 Aug 2013 21:35:29 EST Peanut Butter my frenemy http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5452052 I have a love, hate relationship with peanut butter. I love it straight out of the jar on a spoon, on bread, celery you name it I love it. I hate that I cannot control it. Once I start with it on the spoon I cannot stop. I hate the amount of calories but love that it fills me up and keeps me satisfied. I love it;s creamy texture and sweet and salty taste. I hate that it knows my name and regularly calls to me from the cabinet.

Oh peanut butter....my friend...my foe. Someday ... Sun, 11 Aug 2013 19:46:44 EST Hump day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5447367 Wednesday, middle of the week, Got up started making excuses not to work out. Had already logged my work out and planned my food accordingly. Then I gave myself a pass not to work out this morning with the intention that I would do it tonight after work. I already knew that would not happen either. And then......I watched a SP success story showing multiple people with over 100lb weight loss. Seeing that 2 minute video, seeing the results the people achieved inspired me to pry my butt f... Wed, 7 Aug 2013 08:44:36 EST Sunday comes to an end http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5444569 Today was a good day. Not very productive but a good day none-the-less. Had a really nice visit with my dad who is recovering from many surgeries including 2 amputations. We have been going through this since April. He is still in the rehab hospital. But he has got his fight and determination to succeed back. I took a nap, which doesn't happen very often. Was able to take some time to plan my eating for tomorrow. Amazing how that works. When you plan ahead it is much easier to stay i... Sun, 4 Aug 2013 21:30:47 EST
