LINDYLU10's SparkPeople Blog LINDYLU10's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community back on tracking I went on a beautiful vacation to Sedona. It rated #2 in my lifetime! #1 was trip along the coast of California, LA to Carmel in the springtime. Can't say enough about Sedona, though. I apologize to myself for not tracking the food. I did drink my eight cups of water and was moderate in my eating. So, today I'm back on tracking. Mon, 6 Jul 2009 20:10:12 EST PIZZA Today I gave in to pizza. My husband didn't feel like cooking and neither did I. We both were very tired and didn't feel good, plus it was sooo hot. Inside our trailer, inspite of a small air conditioner and swamp cooler it was 90 degrees. I was going to have tuna but he wanted to have pizza delivered. I told to get just one; that I wasn't going to have any. He ordered two just in case I changed my mind. I did. I was still within my calorie limit, but I haven't filled in my food journal for a... Mon, 29 Jun 2009 22:23:25 EST Another surprise day Well, today did not go as expected. I thought I was dropping in for a very short visit at the hospital and ended up with my dear friend for 6 hours. I was busy the whole time, but I did break away for some nourishment. V-8, cottage cheese. Later I gave in to carrot cake but I had non-fat milk (ha-ha). I'm home now and I'll finish off with a turkey sandwich (no mayo). And I hope I can get in more of my water. There is something I didn't do right but I don't know what it is. I guess I won't ov... Fri, 19 Jun 2009 23:17:36 EST helping others update Needless to say, things have been pretty emotional lately. We had the funeral for Neema last Saturday and the viewing yesterday. I'm not sure why it was reversed. The oldest brother is now out of the hospital and in rehab. He had a severe head injury, among other things. The mother is still waiting for surgery. As a well-coordinated congregation the duties have been cared for lovingly and nobody has had to shoulder the entire load. The other children in the family of 10 are doing fine. Love i... Fri, 19 Jun 2009 02:01:08 EST helping others I have been helping a family who were involved in a tragic car accident. One was killed and 2 are still in critical condition after 8 days. I find myself exhausted and it's hard to keep my new routine. But I'm still trying. I know that healthy habits will keep me strong enough to help others too. Thu, 11 Jun 2009 21:59:18 EST YUK! Today was yucky. I didn't have the food I needed in the refrigerator and I couldn't force myself to even get out of my nightgown. Hope tomorrow is better. 46 Wed, 3 Jun 2009 00:48:31 EST dinner with friends I did a lot of things today. Starting with with watering the plants. They are all thirsty and they will require some water everyday until monsoon season begins. At least when I water it gives me a chance to see a few other outdoor chores. Today a hauled around a few pavers. I had to stop myself, knowing that there is always tomorrow and there is no need to overdue. Friends invited us unexpectedly for a Chinese lunch. Had some laughs as usual. Then when I got home I had a heck of a time trying... Mon, 1 Jun 2009 00:49:19 EST EMERGENCY PIZZA TODAY HUBBY AND I DECIDED TO CLEAN UP SOME CLUTTER AND REARRANGE FURNITURE. PRETTY SOON THE TIME GOT AWAY AND HUBBY WAS READY TO STEP IN AND RESCUE ME. ALTHOUGH I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO DO MORE FOR MYSELF AND STICK RELIGIOUSLY TO THE MEAL PLANS (OR SUBSTITUTES) I COULDN'T (DIDN'T!) RESIST. ESPECIALLY SINCE HE WANTED TO GET MY FAVORITE VEGETARIAN PIZZA. WELL THE BIGGEST THING I WAS AFRAID OF WAS NOT BEING ABLE TO TRACK THIS ITEM. SO I GAVE THE FOOD SEARCH A TRY, LIKE I HAVE SO MANY TIMES BEFORE. ... Fri, 29 May 2009 21:37:01 EST PLANNER Last night I was going down the list of things to do for spark points and I was reminded to use the planner. I didn't really see the use of it but for the heck of it I entered something I had to do today. It wasn't something that was really an appointment but I put a time on it anyway. Today I felt compelled to keep my appointment! I guess you could say I kept an appointment with myself. It boosted my self-esteem for the whole day. 52 Fri, 29 May 2009 00:09:27 EST turn the day around I had a slow start. None of my nutrition planning went right. I didn't eat the right things at the right time. I spent 2 hours at the optometrist's office. My eyes would not cooperate. The doctor actually had to have me go back into the lobby and wait while he work with some of the others who had appointments. Guess what? When I got home I had to fight the urge to send hubby out for my favorite hamburger and fries(emotional eating.) I won! However I didn't have lunch, unless you count cott... Thu, 28 May 2009 03:41:51 EST TOUGH DAYS Changing is hard! I try to do it all at once. Hubby is shook up because he has been the cook and grocery shopper since forever and now he doesn't know what to do. He thinks using a list is too hard. He wants to just whatever comes into his head- His shake-up means my shake-up, etc. etc. etc. So tonight I went back to look at phase 1 of SP to regroup. By trying to do it all I didn't do any of it well. Tomorrow my focus is water, buy a few groceries, walk the dog and try to do the menu plan . ... Fri, 22 May 2009 02:23:05 EST adjusting Today I went thru my week's menu plan. I printed it along with my grocery list. Now I will shop my pantry and refrigerator. I think this will make it easier than doing everything on the fly. I also plan on preparing everything I can ahead of time, because my hunger is intense and it hits suddenly. When it does it seems easier to go for fast food or have my husband cook something (which he has done for years) I hope this week will be less difficult. 52 Mon, 18 May 2009 13:08:27 EST LINDY'S SPARKS Things are getting easier. My days are beginning to make sense. I feel like there's light at the end of the tunnel. I cooked yesterday and I'm cooking today (starting earlier to beat the heat). I missed some goals yesterday but I'm more determined today. 100 Thu, 14 May 2009 12:06:14 EST
