I decided to eat what I wanted and relax. I never sat down and gorged, but ate little treats and did not measure out my portions. At the end of the day, I knew I'd eaten too much, but didn't think it was THAT much. I felt I'd eaten what used to be an "average" day for the old me.

The surprise came this morning when I decided to log what I'd eaten the day before. ... Sun, 27 Jun 2010 20:43:48 EST The power of "No thank you." http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3337216 I went on a vacation with my hubby and daughter last week. We stayed 2 nights at a waterpark resort in the Wisconsin Dells, then drove to IL to see family. We ate out every day of the trip, I was off-line and not tracking my nutrition, and only worked-out one day.

The results: I lost 1.2 pounds!

How did I do it? I said "No thank you."

I was offered cinnamon rolls with cream cheese, decadent desserts on the restaurant menus, homemade iced sugar cookies, br... Tue, 15 Jun 2010 14:39:08 EST I enjoyed some rest http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3289793 Over the holiday weekend, I was active, but didn't actually do a "workout" or go to the gym. I had healthy nutrition, but enjoyed letting my body take a rest. I started strong with a cable class, and plan on going to the gym for the next 3 mornings.

I weighed in this morning and lost another 5 pounds, so I've been feelin' happy all day.

Here's to hoping for another good week! Tue, 1 Jun 2010 17:47:08 EST Jumped a hurdle http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3277656 I was so good this morning! I went to the gym, had a healthy breakfast, then my hurdle appeared. It was time to take my lunch break at work, and I did NOT want to take my brisk 30 min walk.

I looked at a co-worker, and said, "it wouldn't be too bad if I just didn't go on my walk today, right?" Thank goodness she is a healthy motivated woman, because she looked at me and said, "Oh it's such a beautiful day! I think you'd really enjoy a walk right now."

And then I went... Fri, 28 May 2010 15:43:02 EST Another good day! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3273325 I had a small group strength training session this morning at 7am, and I decided to squeeze in a pilates class before that. Pilates is challenging, but I really enjoyed the class.

I bought a healthy breakfast at the gym, packed a healthy lunch, and I'm on my way to another successful day. Thu, 27 May 2010 10:40:36 EST Off to a good start! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3270082 I started a 6 month program through my gym for women with high BMI's. The goal of the program is to learn healthy behaviors, and to introduce the participants to a variety of machines/classes that the gym has to offer.

On the first night of class, a woman mentioned SP and said it was an excellent site. To my surprise, the fitness instructors gave SP their stamp of approval.

I joined SP that night, and am so glad I did. The nutrition and fitness trackers have kept me m...
