I am growing and eating and discovering the wonderful versatile vegetable....KALE!! The best so far, besides the green smoothies is just olive oil and garlic and kale sauted, and sometimes served with a small amount of black beans. delish!! My other goal was to run a 5K. Now, granted, I didn't win and I only really loped....but I did it and it was super fun because it was the COLOR RUN!! What a fun time! Hope to do... It was my very last shift of night-turn at Heartland Behavioral Healthcare. I stopped at a little festival on the way home and while walking through the field, I found 2 4-leaf clovers. A little girl was admiring them so I let her pick the one she wanted. Then, I come home and take the dog out and would you believe, I found another one in the yard? Any advice from my spark people community on this luckiest of days?? Sat, 5 May 2012 16:35:18 EST Alot to be thankful for this Friday.... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4855353 I was so overwelmed yesterday. One thing I have to tell myself more is that "this too shall pass." My dad is continuing to improve each day. I am very lucky to still have my parents around. I have friends whose parents died when they were teenagers. I just can't imagine that. So remembering what a great life I have had thus far and how much I love them.

Thank you to my sparkfriends who said a little prayer for me. Prayers were definately answered.

~LeAnn Fri, 27 Apr 2012 19:12:47 EST My life right this minute..... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4852689 So, yeah, to say I'm overwelmed is an understatement. My Dad just had major surgery, he's 89. Now he is recovering ok from the surgery, but now has some issues with his heart and kidney function. I have been monitoring him, I can't really say taking care of him, because he is able to do much on his own and he is much more independent than most his age, but he needs looked after, encouraged and prompted. He is also incontinent of bladder, and developed a small bedsore while in the hospital... Thu, 26 Apr 2012 02:30:01 EST Busy Week and Other Stuff http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4831506 This week has been terribly busy. My dad is in the hospital and had to have surgery, gallbladder. Also had to have an endoscopy which revealed gastritis. He's 89. So, I've been at the hospital all week with my mother. Also, tomorrow I fly to Austin to visit my daughter. So, I am leaving the assistance to my parents to my capable sibs.

Today, is a sad anniversary. My neice worked in a prison and was killed 13 yrs ago today. I always call my sis on this day, but she has ne... Thu, 12 Apr 2012 08:50:28 EST A Family Visit or Not http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4825300 It's Easter and I have to work. I won't be able to spend it at my sister's since I have to work tonight too. I will miss everyone, and at another time in my life, I would have probably given myself short sleep to go and visit for easter or guilted myself if I chose not to go. I can't do either of those things anymore. Being over 50 has its advantages. Sun, 8 Apr 2012 06:30:14 EST It pays to read the fine print.... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4824125 Well, it may not pay CASH....but it pays in motivation and wear and tear on the body. I joined up with a Spark Team called Spark People's 5K Your Way Rookie Running Program because I one of my goals is to run a 5K race in my 50th year. (Grandma Moses didn't start painting until she was in her 70s).

So I printed out one of the programs and started running this very week. I have always been in acceptable shape, but have put on a few pounds in recent years. That said, I have alw... Sat, 7 Apr 2012 03:16:56 EST How I Found SparkPeople http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4822843 This is my first blog. My daughter's friend does a blog about creativity and I always wanted to do one because it seemed like a journal entry. After reading a few, I have concluded that this is exactly what it is. So, here we go, another goal from the bucket list checked off. And I have Spark People to thank for this!!

I was looking several days ago, foir the Brasilian Butt Lift DVDs to order on line. For some reason, I couldnt find this anywhere, and then, quite accidentall... Fri, 6 Apr 2012 06:52:37 EST
