LADYMACK24's SparkPeople Blog LADYMACK24's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community DAY: 2 of 25 Days of Well - Being Me I am beautiful. It has taken me most of my life to be able to say that. Beauty or beautiful were words I would never use to describe myself. I grew up always feeling awkward, odd, or like I just didn't belong. I believed my own lie that someone like me could not be beautiful.

Now I know different.

I am so glad I learned that I get to define beautiful, my beautiful. My beautiful cannot be compared to another for it belongs to me. My beautiful is my smile and my frown. M... Tue, 7 Jun 2016 13:49:33 EST 25 Days of Well - Being Me It's Monday, Beautiful People! Yeah, I don't remember because it was so quick. I didn't think it was that bad. I wasn't in pain. Went to work. Even wore heels a couple days this week. All was good until I got home yesterday...then it was nothing but excruciating pain in this left ankle. The pain was intermittent and varied in intensity from 5-12 on a 10 scale. Wed, 11 Feb 2015 17:13:47 EST Happiness Is My Choice

I admit, I've spent far too much time and energy in the hopes and desire that a person, place or things would make me happy, keep me happy. Every result was not so. How I feel is a choice. I'm learning that I control my happiness. I choose happiness. Sat, 7 Feb 2015 09:32:45 EST Believe in Yourself

Too often we forget we are stronger than we give ourselves credit for. Don't believe me? Just think about what you've been through or destroyed someone else. The miles that we have walked, someone else would have giving up yards ago. They didn't make it this far. You did. Thu, 5 Feb 2015 11:26:16 EST FEELING ALIVE. I AM ALIVE. I was SOOOO EXCITED! I could not stop smiling. Even now, don't know what it is, but I can't stop smiling and feeling like I am worth more than a million dollars.

See, my birthday was Jan. 30th. I celebrated 40 years of LIFE! I was (still am) so giddy and bubbly. I have no idea why, but I feel alive. I guess that saying, you know, "that life begins at 40" is true. Maybe it's just me. Whatever it is, I like feeling alive. I like feeling like I know what I want. I like the new inspi... Mon, 2 Feb 2015 19:41:40 EST Balancing life and loss The scales of life always seem unbalanced - 39

Just last week I made a decision to press forward with my end of the year goals. Then I get the frantic phone call that my cousin was killed. WHAT? WAIT!!! We just saw him Thanksgiving!!! How? What happened? His father's health is not the greatest. His mother had mild stroke weeks prior. This is too much!!!!

The funeral was planned for Saturday, but got pushed up to Thursday. I've been in a frantic state to cru... Wed, 10 Dec 2014 12:52:47 EST December My oh my! Where has the time gone. Hard to believe it's December. Nevertheless, we are here.

I took a few moments to review what I've done. Still struggling with consistency. Still not logging in daily. Yet, I was able to loose 2lbs per week for 3 weeks. Got to the holidays and gained half of that back. The encuraging factor is I know what I am capable of. That leaves only one solution...Finish this years with my personal challenge. Since I am only competing with myself and my per... Fri, 14 Nov 2014 13:27:19 EST Hmmm What I say I want and what I do are completely opposite. Time for new challenges and new success; new disappointments and new rewards.

521 306 381 Sun, 1 Jun 2014 13:33:52 EST What Matters Most The things which matter the most should get the most attention. More times than not this is the complete opposite. In the past, I've made work, community, and sometimes church the priority. I've sacrificed healthy eating, not enough sleep, and peace of mind. Yet, my goals were to improve in each of those areas. When I complained about not having enough time or being to busy, what really I needed was balance.

Today, I can honestly say, I've taken inventory of my actions to ensure th... Sat, 24 May 2014 12:55:10 EST Enjoy The Weekend! I can't speak for anyone else, but I know I've had a hectic and draining week. But I made it through...Thank God! 43

Now I say I'm going to relax. But we will probably end up doing something. Might even end up traveling to Georgia. Nah! Whatever you decide to do, have some fun and enjoy your weekend. 334 Fri, 23 May 2014 20:41:56 EST Push Past Negative Self-Talk Today was supposed to be my "Rest" day. Since I missed two days, I was going to give up. Since I slacked off this weekend, I knew I would have to double up on my work out today in order to get back on track. But TODAY is the REST day. Day 20.

It wasn't the doubling up that bothered me. I was going to give up, throw in the towel, and quit. My negative self-talk had already said I couldn't finish it now anyway. I heard "there's no need to continue". Negative self-talk reminded me tha... Tue, 20 May 2014 20:59:58 EST Enjoy Your Weekend I'm glad it's the weekend. The past week was full of graduation reports, Summer registration, degree program change requests, declared minors, Fall registration inquiries and new student orientation. I know I've worked hard.

Think we have all worked hard. So...enjoy your weekend. Sat, 17 May 2014 08:50:28 EST Half Way There Well, it's Friday - Day 16 and I am half way through the "Little Black Dress" challenge. 104

I am so very proud of myself. Check out my post on April 30th or visit the link

See you in your LBD! 521 306 381 Fri, 16 May 2014 20:17:27 EST Pushed Thru Day 15

I had no enthusiasm, no desire, no umph to do this. Pushed thru anyway. Glad I did. Day 15 - done! 198 104 Thu, 15 May 2014 10:56:08 EST Focus on winning. The plan is always to win or do well. Never to fail, even though failure is always a possibility. Don't focus on the failure or plan for it. Focus on the success. Everything else is a by-product of your efforts.

Happy Wednesday! Wed, 14 May 2014 16:44:05 EST You Are Beautiful Beauty begins on the inside. What you do and how you present yourself is what others see when they say you are beautiful.

Enjoy your Tuesday. Tue, 13 May 2014 12:50:09 EST Weekend Changes Weekends are always a challenge for us. Hubby and I get to spend time together. In our spending, we don't always stick to healthy eating.

This weekend I purposely paid attention. Before we left home, I decided to make some adjustments. If our food was slightly unhealthy or high in calories, then we had to drink water instead of the more sweeter/high calories drinks. If the drink was my favorite sweet tea or high in calories, then the meal was simple, yet loaded with rich vegetable... Mon, 12 May 2014 09:26:10 EST Dealing with Devastation Today I found myself repeating the same line..."It's going to be okay." Or "Thank God it wasn't worse." For some, I knew those words would not be of any comfort so I held a hand, just smiled or gave a hug. I don't know if that was enough, but it's all I had to offer.

Seems like now that the waters have receded from the flooding, we really get to see just how many people have been affected by last weeks storm. I have students and co-workers who, have lost everything. Others who had ... Mon, 5 May 2014 21:43:34 EST Graduation -Day 3 & 4 On Saturday I was able to work behind the scenes to help with University graduation. I do it every Fall and Spring semester. It is always a bittersweet event. On one hand I am happy to see my students graduate and I hope they will take the knowledge and experiences to become the best they can and make significant contribution to our society. Yet,I am sad to see them go. So next Monday begins a new semester and a new group of students who I will guide, mentor, and assist with academic goals.... Sun, 4 May 2014 23:06:46 EST Day 2 Day 2: I'm working it. A little sore, but today is done. Fri, 2 May 2014 21:37:33 EST "LBD" CHALLENGE - DAY 1 Completed day 1. 244 Thu, 1 May 2014 21:38:45 EST May "Little Black Dress" Dress Challenge

This challenge is not so much about the dress or looking good in the dress...which I know we already do. The motivation is to look your best and be as healthy as you possibly can at the end of each day, each week, each month.

So here's to looking and feeling your best no matter what you wear or how you decide to dress. Wed, 30 Apr 2014 18:36:43 EST Busy Days New system at work. More work. Longer hours. And the day I decided to walk at lunch...its rainy and cold. Go figure!

Nevertheless - today is your day - Make it beautiful! Tue, 15 Apr 2014 10:48:34 EST You Just Never Know I'm the academic advisor for my department. I guide just a little over 250 students. It's been a rough few days back at work. We are in the throws of a campus wide system change. Launch day is Monday. It has become the focus of everything we do. And rightfully so. I mean - it's only going to affect the entire university. I've been training since December, meeting with students, answering phone calls, responding to emails, making schedule adjustments, meeting with students, answers emails...o... Thu, 10 Apr 2014 22:11:43 EST Travel from Kentucky to Ohio I returned home at 3am on Sunday, April 6th...exhausted and exhilarated all at the same time. The tour of the travelers along the underground railroad was and will forever be a truly amazing experience. I encourage any and all...if you get a chance, please visit the Slave Haven Museum and the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis TN; stand on the Tennessee banks of the Ohio River and look across into Ohio; visit the National Freedom Center in Cincinnati. But most importantly - no matter w... Tue, 8 Apr 2014 09:35:20 EST Travel from Memphis, TN to Maysville, KY The second leg of my trip. An extra long ride in the rain. But to be here and listen to the history of Maysville. WOW.

I have stayed true to my water in take but not so much the healthy eating. Will try to do better the rest of the trip.
