I was just watching a video about plateaus and it made me think about how I actually just got over a plateau that lasted a few years. I tried carb cycling which works really well. You have to be careful and pick the right plan for you. Some are designed for body builders and some for people who don't need to lose much. Hula Hooping helps to but you have to be careful not to do too much. It can injure your neck if you do it for too long. I've was swimming only but lately I've done a variety of activities that include swimming, hiking up Pinnacle Mountain, swimming, and the cardio and weight room at gym. I've been biking for a few months now and I love it! I have a cruiser bike and I don't go very fast but it feels good. We go super-early (5:30 a.m.), just to beat the heat. We see all kinds of animals along the way. There are usually tons of deer, chipmunks, squirrels, frogs and bunnies. I've been exercising consistently for 22 weeks!!!!! I work out five days a week and have only missed maybe 3 days. I'm so proud of myself! I've never stuck with a workout plan for this long. <BR> Once you get in the routine it's easier to get motivated. It's definitely worth sharing so here ya go: <BR> <BR> Get a deck of cards, a watch, and a set of weights. Find a space where you can run laps. They don't have to be extremely long laps. Just find a room that won't be too small and will drive you crazy. Shuffle the cards so you get a nice surprise. The number cards represent how many times you run back and forth. I've lost several inches everywhere but no weight which is fine. My clothes fit so much better, and I have more energy overall even after my workouts. When you feel better life is much easier! Recently I had to learn not to rely on the scale to check my fitness progress. I fluctuate so much and now I'm back where I started in pounds. I know now that this has nothing to do with failing my diet or workout program. I know this because my clothes fit better and I went down in pants size. Also, I measure myself once a week and I've lost a few inches in my waist, hips and thighs. The only place I've gained inches is my biceps.
