I could *never* do that.' Well today something happened... Fri, 30 Sep 2011 14:19:06 EST Weight Loss Goals for 2010 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2698730 An admirable team goal set by the SP Class of January 4-10, 2009 is to blog about our goals and progress. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to blog here or elsewhere, but here goes.

When I started my weight loss journey last year, I only had to lose 10 lb. I actually got down to within 4 pounds of my goal. Then I went on vacation. Then I lost control. I found myself then with 15 pounds to lose. The only good thing I can say about this is that I didn't give up. I came back and restarte... Tue, 5 Jan 2010 14:41:55 EST I'm amazed how many steps 10,000 per day actually is! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2463171 I'm an avid exerciser. I dance, I walk, I take circuit training classes, I take the stairs (and I work on the 9th floor!). I never felt the need for a pedometer because I was *sure* I had that covered with my other activities.

Hah! What a surprise when I purchased a pedometer on a whim. Turns out a fairly rigorous dance or step workout is only about 5000 steps. After a great workout I was only half way to my daily step goal! What an eye opener. I'm finding that most days I really ... Thu, 8 Oct 2009 13:10:50 EST Tough Weekend http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2454362 Spent the weekend away from home. So much of my advanced planning was just too difficult to stick to. I was *very* good at the breakfast buffet - just fruit and a bowl of cereal - but THEN - lunch out with friends struck. Actually even that was pretty healthy: grilled fish, veggies, salad, boiled potatoes - but it was a lot. And THEN - dinner - that's where I fell apart: dinner with a group meant no special orders. The sandwich came with french fries, so I ate them. All of them. They were d... Mon, 5 Oct 2009 14:20:10 EST Been trying to lose 10 lb for the better part of a year http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2382918 I find it very sad that I am a member of both the 'Spark Team SP Class of January 4-10' AND '50+ Members with less than 10 pounds to lose'. Shouldn't I have lost those 10 lb already since it's been 9 months? But no, here I am, only 3 pounds lighter than when I started.

Despite this, I remain determined. Because during this year I was down to where I only had 4 pounds to lose, I can and will do it again. Every time I goof up, I learn a little something more about myself. Tue, 8 Sep 2009 13:41:39 EST
