I'm just tired and sad, I think, because the more I log and track, the more accountable I make myself, the better I eat and drink water, the more weight I gain. It's just so frustrating. Protien and other "energy" bars aren't much better and Snickers doesn't taste like burnt cardboard. That is why my "prize" for making it all the way to the top of my hill will be a Snickers bar. I live on the top of a hill that is aproximately 3/4 mile long and has a 5.5% to 6% grade, depending on where you are on the road. Fri, 29 Jan 2010 01:28:54 EST Bloomsday 2010 is on its way!! This year, for the first time since high school, I will be participating in Bloomsday, a world famous 7mile race in Spokane, Wa. I will be walking this year, but I am so excited about it! I have my 16 year old daughter and her 16 year old boyfriend walking with me as well as my 14 year old son. I have also recruited a good freind of mine to go with me. Maybe even my stepmom will go too. It is an autoimmune disease that causes my body to attack my thyroid as if it were a foreign invader. I take thyroid replacement pills every day, but I cannot tell if they are really working. <BR> <BR> One of the things that Hashimoto's causes is excess water retention. Some days are better than others, and today sucks. I think I put all 7lbs. that I lost last week back on over night. <BR> <BR> The other thing is that it hurts! I feel the excess water build up ... I try, but with my GERD eating oranges or drinking orange juice can be traumatizing. I can add macaroni or other pasta, but I already have a pretty high carb intake.
