Not just on Spark, but absent from myself, my plan, my goals. I have all of these reasons, these excuses, that I use to explain my absence, and some of them make sense, but some do not. It doesn’t matter – all of them are excuses, and while I know they had their place in my life over the last 8 – 10 months, they don’t have a place in my life now. Today, I’m starting over.

My new plan:

**Drink a bottle of water before every meal – as in, I d... Mon, 10 Nov 2014 14:33:48 EST Stop Holiday Gain http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5563709 For the final week of our BLC challenge, we're to create a blog with our plan to stay on track through the holidays, so here's my plan:

Eat breakfast every day - it's the most important meal of the day, and if I don't eat it, I will eat everything else I see :)

TRACK, TRACK, TRACK!!! You have no idea what you are consuming if you don't TRACK it!!!

Since I have two 5-day weekends, I will stick to my normal meal/snack routine that I follow when I work - it's got... Fri, 13 Dec 2013 16:21:32 EST I AM Alpha. (Pics!) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5376670 A year ago, my son and his two friends ran the Alpha Race - at that time, it was just over 3 miles of wooded trails and about a dozen military-style obstacles. I sat on the sidelines and watched the racers joking and laughing as they waited for their turn to run, then watched them take off running through the forest.

Then later, I watched as they made that last turn and stood at the top of a 200 foot slip-n-slide created with huge tarps covering the side of a hill (used for sleddi... Mon, 3 Jun 2013 11:29:21 EST Winter Blues..... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5220038 So, I struggle a bit this time of year…I think a lot of us do in the winter. I’ve found myself whining and complaining about the cold nearly non-stop since the first of the year. I tried to stop one day – I really did. On my way to work I told myself that I would not complain about the cold that day – not even once! God made the cold, just like He made the sunshine, and there MUST be a reason for it. There just MUST be. I lasted until I sat down in my office chair at work and realized the hea... Wed, 23 Jan 2013 11:50:30 EST To the Hundred Pound Losers out there…(pics!) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5170146 When I first started my journey, I was in awe of you. I knew you must be very special to accomplish the impossible – that’s what the end goal was for me then, impossible.

After a few months, I was inspired by you. Your kind words and pictures showed me where you’d come from, and how far you had journeyed without giving up.

<img src="http://photos-ak.sparkpeople.com/nw/1/5/l15056... Tue, 18 Dec 2012 12:45:52 EST BLC20 mid-round blog http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5109113 Well, the numbers show that I'm on my way to meeting my goal by the end of the challenge. I started at 215 lbs, and I've lost 11 so far, with an end goal of losing 15 and being 200 lbs or less at the end of the challenge.

I can't really say that I've been following my plan as much as I'd like to though. I'm only running about 2 days a week, but I am filling in the other days with bike riding, walking, volleyball, and playing at the park with the kids. I've been counting calories i... Mon, 22 Oct 2012 21:48:40 EST I conquered it!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5081304 So, yesterday we took our annual color tour trip along the scenic drive in Oscoda, Michigan. It was beautiful! The leaves have not yet reached their full color peak, but it was awesome, nonetheless!

The entire route runs along the high bank of the Au Sable River, with amazing viewing stops along side the road. The first stop we made on this trip was at a natural spring that creates waterfalls near the river down below - 289 steps below!! We trudged down, wandered around, and back u... Sun, 30 Sep 2012 22:25:49 EST My BLC 20 fitness plan: http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5063480 Well, we’re a pretty active group – hubby & I love to go for walks, runs, and work out at the gym whenever we get an opportunity. With 4 kids ranging in age from 2 – 14, we tend to find a wide variety of activities to keep us moving all the time.

During the next 12 weeks, I plan to keep up the activity levels by running three mornings a week like we usually do, and filling in the other mornings with either a trip to the gym, or challenging my 12 and 14 yos to keep up with me on a ... Mon, 17 Sep 2012 15:31:44 EST Just waved goodbye to the first 75!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5055973 Wow!! I stepped on the scale this morning, and I’ve lost 75 lbs since the beginning of 2012!! Yay!

So, here’s what I didn’t know about 75 lbs…

Assuming there are 3,500 calories in one pound of fat, in the past 9 and a half months, I’ve burned 262,500 more calories than I’ve consumed – WOW! So basically, I’ve said “No, thank you” to the equivalent of:

2,187 of my mom’s world-famous chocolate chip cookies (just so you know, I’ve said “YES!” to a few!!)
<B... Wed, 12 Sep 2012 12:08:07 EST What?! There’s no magic button?!?! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5013529 In the last nine months, I’ve lost 66 pounds – it’s getting noticeable. I’ve dropped 3 shirt sizes and 5 pants sizes. My new jacket that was the biggest size available went from never being zipped to hanging on me – yeah, people feel the need to say something.

At least three times a week, I have the same conversation… it starts out with “Wow, you look great!!” Then, inevitably, goes to: “I’ve got some extra weight I’ve been carrying around, too! What are you doing??” Here’s where ... Mon, 13 Aug 2012 12:23:31 EST
