I have been responsible for tracking my food and fitness goals for almost 3 weeks. Tomorrow is a great night's sleep away, sweet dreams all.

102 Mon, 27 Sep 2010 00:16:50 EST Feeling A-OK http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3670746 I am feeling A-Ok today. I can summarize my day in a nutshell with only one word, BALANCE.
335
"Be kind to yourself and give yourself a BIG hug. Tell yourself how much you love and appreciate yourself for being alive and having the strength and courage to go through such an incredible adventure called life!" ~James Van Praagh
Sun, 26 Sep 2010 01:30:39 EST I Love This... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3668818 I found this quote extremely helpful this week: "Be kind to yourself and give yourself a BIG hug. Tell yourself how much you love and appreciate yourself for being alive and having the strength and courage to go through such an incredible adventure called life!" James Van Praagh
With that so beautifully said, I am going to keep on tracking. Also, a friend told me today that progress is a process, and I totally agree. 253 Sat, 25 Sep 2010 02:40:30 EST A Good Night http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3666576 I now look forward to a good night sleep. However, I still wake up several times each night. The difference is, I am falling to sleep, or back to sleep almost instantly now. The best part is getting the full 8 hours of sleep each day. Whenever I wake up with less than 8 hours, I roll back over, and catch more zzzzzzzz's
102 Fri, 24 Sep 2010 01:24:58 EST Still smoke-free.... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3663821 Today is my eighth smoke-free day. A few times today I felt stressed, and had to reach for my straw. I would much rather suck clean fresh air out of a sipping straw, than to be taking a long toxic draw from a cigarette. Actually, the deep breathing did help to alleviate the stress I was feeling. 8 hours of sleep each day has felt awesome. I feel better about my health and fitness. I feel more confident now that living a happy healthy life is not just for the other folks.
I can do it! ... Thu, 23 Sep 2010 02:31:08 EST Keeping It Simple http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3657012 Making sure I keep my goals simple and attainable is a must. I want to do it all, but know that I must crawl before I can walk. I am relearning how to do EVERYTHING without cigarettes. Whenever I forget, I remind myself that I am a non-smoker. In fact, sitting in front of the computer is a relearning experience. I was so accustomed to lighting up and spending mindless hours smoking and surfing the web. Baby steps, baby steps, baby steps... 183 Tue, 21 Sep 2010 02:43:01 EST Unconditional Love http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3653672 26 I am beginning to see myself as living a long healthy life. My greatest joy so far on this journey is realizing, I make the difference in the overall quality of my life. I could not do this alone, and certainly not without knowledge. Everyday I am learning something new. I have cooked a new Spark Recipe almost everyday this week. I am beginning to enjoy cooking. The best part of all, I am also ENJOYING nourishing my body with food. I am going to love myself unconditionally even ... I enjoyed every aspect of my day. I spent most of it alone, but I needed to be with me. I shopped, I cooked, I worked out, and truly enjoyed my me time. Day 3 cigarette free was all about enjoying me.
Kindness, JOY, Love & Happiness makes for a happy mind, body and soul. Well, at least, I think so. 410 Sat, 18 Sep 2010 01:54:33 EST I am a non-smoker http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3645768 270 Just checking in on my 2nd day as a non-smoker to say, all is well. I have been taking it easy on myself emotionally. I did get in my workouts both days, yeah! I am, also, getting 8 hours of sleep, and 8 glasses of water daily. Yesterday, I was pretty much a shut in. I feel most secure at home. I ventured out today, even socialized a bit, but was home well before sunset. A close friend took me out to eat, nothing planned just kind of happened. I had not eaten at this place in y... Fri, 17 Sep 2010 00:40:15 EST It's Over! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3642707 270 My abusive relationship with nicotine is over at last. I said my good-bye with one last puff of that horrible taste in my mouth. I was so disgusted all I could stand was a puff, then it was over. Did I miss it today, YES! Were there moments I wanted to come running back, YES. It's over, I say again with conviction. I am tired of being abused physically and mentally. Always making me feel as if by lighting up, somehow, things will be hassle free. Killing me softly, or just slowl... I wasn’t sure what to eat, or when to eat before working out. I found a neat article by Fitness Expert, Dean Anderson, called “What to Eat Before You Work Out.” The article states: “The most important things are getting to know your body and how it responds to exercise, so that you can give it what it needs to perform at its best.” “What to Eat Before You W... Sat, 11 Sep 2010 00:21:40 EST Accountability http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3623864 Hooray, I made it through my first of many days without coffee. I felt good today, getting a full 8 hours of sleep, and recording it in my sleep journal. Rest will do me well, because I am prone to being a busy body. Being too busy to eat, and too busy to sleep has made me feel rather dull and lifeless. I know my body appreciated the conscious effort I put into my food choices today. Writing in my food journal makes me more aware of what I am eating. Instead of denying myself food when I fel... I cooked another Spark recipe today. I was amazed at how well it turned out. I must say, dinner was delightful. Earlier today I officially divorced coffee. I know my love for the coffee is not about the bean, nor the caffeine. I just want coffee for the sugary sweetness of coffee house coffee. I must deny the sweet tooth and let the coffee go. It never fails, shortly after drinking coffee my stomach aches and grumbles. It do...
