I have my shopping list ready and plan on walking out the door in a couple of hours to complete my grocery shopping. My list consist of most of the usual things that I buy each week. I've planned ahead, Tom is in the fridge just chillin, the potatoes are hanging out in the pantry waiting to be peeled, no stuffing/dressing (the family is not a fan), and the rest of the sides will be made ahead: Wild rice salad, Cranberry relish, Onion roll... Tue, 25 Nov 2014 07:47:22 EST It's my Sparkaversary!!! I just realized that today is my 4th Sparkaversary! Wow!! Time does fly! It seems like just yesterday that I found Sparks people. Yet, in other ways, its hard to remember life before sparks! Joining sparks was a very good thing for me. I didn't have that much weight to lose, but what I really liked was the tracking. I felt more in control when I could see exactly what I was eating and how many calories I consumed. My eating habits changed. I began reading the labels and choosing fres... Today, we will continue to deal with the those consequences. Life us up and down; full of hills and valleys. When we go through the trials, we don't walk alone, God is with us. The day begins right on target: I'm exercising, eating clean, drinking water . . . . then somewhere along in the evening, I get the monster snack attack. I want something salty, crunchy or chocolaty. My weakness is pretzels. I usually stay with in my calorie range and only eat a few, but there are much better things I can be munching on if I am in need of a snack. Today . . . Tue, 5 Mar 2013 06:34:09 EST What am Doing to Achieve my new habit and encourage myself? I love check list! I always have a check list of something going, a list for groceries, a list for chores to do throughout the day, a list of errands to run, a list of people to call . . . I delight in crossing items off my list! As I mentioned yesterday, I have a sticky note stuck on my computer with my goals for strength training written on it. As I accomplish each one, I cross it off. I also have a list of Strength Training exercises to do for the day, and yes, they get crossed off to... Mon, 4 Mar 2013 05:46:30 EST How am I going to do my new habit? Yesterday, I wrote about my desire to add more Strength Training into my fitness routine. I decided to help me along with that by doing 100 push ups and 130 squats per day. So, How am I going to do that? I have my goal written on a sticky note on my computer. Every time I see it I am reminded of it. I don't like having a check list with items not marked off. So, every time I see my goal I will be reminded that I need to complete that task. Today, I did squats while the coffee was brewi... Wed, 18 Jan 2012 21:33:18 EST Still chasing Ahhh . . . good intentions, but sleep didn't come until around 10:30 and I woke up before the alarm went off this morning . . . I'm going to try it again tonight! 102 Tue, 17 Jan 2012 22:21:50 EST Chasing sleep For the 5% challenge we are to be blogging about healthy habits. My first was to increase exercise . . . Sometimes it continues thoughout the day and sometime I am saying whipser prayers all the day long. My parents are planning a visit this holiday, and maybe by sister and her family too. They haven't decided yet. We will be celebrating the day prior, on Wednesday. DS and DIL will be with us on Wednesday and with her side of the family on Thursday. It works out nicely this year, since DH birthday is on Wednesday, we will have a double celebration... But, I'm thankful we were able to pick it up yesterday. I had a nice early morning run on it today!!! I do perfer to be outside, but it was still dark and hubby doesn't like me out in the dark by myself! I still get up early and enjoy my normal routine: quiet time, workout, and sparkin, but the rest of the day is up for grabs. Today, rain (YAY!!!) kept me inside for the majority of the day. I put the time to good use and did some decluttering and organizing. Why don't I do a little bit of that every day? I have the benefit of seeing first hand what all is ordered. As a result, I have tried many new things ... Thu, 21 Jul 2011 16:50:29 EST Are you sweetly resting? Evangelist D. L. Moody one observed that there are three kinds of faith a Christian can have: A struggling faith, a clinging faith or a resting faith. A resting faith is not some mystical feeling that we might experience at times in a church service or during a spiriturally high moment. It is simply the daily respose of the life that has learned to relax and be comfortable in God's providential care. Such an attitude is the result of ceasing to live for self and starting to live solely fo... Wed, 20 Jul 2011 10:02:31 EST A terrific Tuesday! I had a good workout today! YAY!!! I'm moving closer to the running pace I desire. With the treadmill broken all winter, I really go out of running shape. I had hoped to be back on track by now but . . . .Oh well! I had some quiet time with our Lord and then went for a run, came home and shredded with JM, then I jumped on the tramp oline for 15 minutes! I ate clean today . . . although I am low on the calorie side, I should probably have a light snack before bed so I have energy to do it all again tomorrow! Go Daisies!!! Sun, 17 Jul 2011 23:11:46 EST . . . And the Challenge begins! Today is the first day of the 5% summer challenge. I feel like I'm off to a good beginning. I'm working on adding in more protein, it is one area I am constantly lacking. I can eat fruits and veggies all day long, put I struggle to get in the protein.
