KMBJBB's SparkPeople Blog KMBJBB's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Results are showing up!!! Okay - I have had Deacon, my wonderful service dog to be for just a little over a week now. Since I got him, I am walking more than I ever did. He and I are doing 3-5 miles a day. My fibromyalgia has not really been acting up much, until today.

For the good news, here in South Florida, we are still able to wear shorts and tank tops with no problem, so I pulled on a pair of short today, just to see how they fit. They've been too tight for the last 3-4 years. Now? They are loose. My ... Wed, 30 Jan 2013 22:24:12 EST May have over done it. OUCH!!! Not sure if what I have is pain from the fibromyalgia or if it really is "shin splints" but man do I hurt right now.

Deacon is doing much better and both dogs are getting along better. One problem I have is with my hearing loss, I cannot hear if the dog is whining or not. He comes up and puts his chin on my arm, but that could mean he wants to play or wants to go out. He is one dog that almost never tires out. He has a lot of stamina. Wish he'd give some to me.

I can alr... Sun, 20 Jan 2013 19:07:29 EST Walking is getting easier!!!! Now, I do have fibromyalgia as well as neuropathy of the right side. My right knee-cap slips out of place off and on, even when I am sleeping. I had stopped walking as it was getting harder and harder.

Today is the second day with Deacon, my new dog, and I am up to 4-5 miles for today. I had no extra pain from my normal from yesterday. The walking is getting easier.

Yippeeeeee Yahooooooo!!!!!!! Sat, 19 Jan 2013 22:32:07 EST Walking after not being very active So I did get Deacon today. We have had a very busy and full day. Now, keep in mind, I have fibromyalgia and neuropathy and I went to take our current dog to meet Deacon at the shelter. We walked a lot and let them run and get to know each other in a small dog park. They had a little tiff and were broken up. We were given the option to keep him or cancel the adoption. We took Buddy home and the family talked.

Then, we went back to the shelter and adopted Deacon. He came home and we ... Fri, 18 Jan 2013 18:36:48 EST Might be a Good incentive to walk more often!! Well, I am deaf and don't walk as I should since I cannot hear cars or such when walking. I went to the shelter here in town to see about getting a dog to train as a hearing assistance dog. Well - I found a very sweet guy there. His name is Deacon. He is listed as a pit bull, but we found he is actually an American Bulldog.

For me, the eyes just say it all.

<img src="http://photos-ak.sparkpeo... Sat, 5 Jan 2013 22:03:06 EST Garage Conversion Life is sure testing people and mostly me. In June 2009, we moved back to South Florida from Missouri because mother-in-law needed some help and father-in-law was dying. Father-in-law died the day after we left on the 3 day journey home. It was expected. He had melanoma and had been having spots removed for 12 years and there was no end in sight. He decided to stop any further treatment as it was taking all of their saving. He also had Alzheimer's and diabetes. Well, for 3 years, we have been... Thu, 20 Sep 2012 21:40:10 EST Day 2 & 3 - Life has it's Ups and Downs. Well - I had a problem figuring something out on my computer and finally figured out why I couldn't add a blog entry. Be careful of pop-up blockers. That was my lesson.

Seeing as I share a kitchen with my MIL, we wait non each other to finish cooking meals before the other does. Well, last night (Friday) was not a good night. We were plagued with storms off and on all day and evening, so just as I am about to prepare dinner, MIL asks hubby to go out any buy her some chili from Wend... Sat, 25 Aug 2012 17:49:27 EST This is New to Me!! Well - for the first blog I have ever done, I will tell a little about what I go through daily. I am total deaf. I was born hard of hearing and over 42 years, I slowly lost it, but one day, it just totally shut off. According to the doctors I have no ear drums, no cochleas and now, no bones in the ear. I live in total silence, but, you know that ringing you get in your ears? That's called tinnitus. I sometimes get the ringing and buzzing, but I have been blessed with Musical Tinnitus. That me...
