I've never gone that distance and today I did it. I kept my eye on the finish line and finished strong!
312
I feel incredibly powerful now. I feel like I can achieve anything! 244

Happy Sunday!
Sun, 28 Jul 2013 12:40:33 EST Motivation http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5286686 I've been thinking alot lately about how to motivate myself. My thyroid is giving me issues for a few months now and I'm trying hard to get that fixed. It has affected my mood, my weight, my energy level. I'm miserable and trying hard not to be. My doctor and I are trying to get things adjusted.

This past week I've done a lot of research about living with hypothyroidism. I'm tweaking my diet a little and setting really small weekly goals for fitness until I am feeling more l... Thu, 14 Mar 2013 15:10:51 EST Relearning good habits http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5219664 This week I have really focused on relearning the good habits that I ditched last fall.

I've been getting dressed to workout as soon as I get out of bed. And I have exercised 3 days in a row!

I've been going to bed when I'm tired instead of mindlessly snacking or sleeping restlessly on the couch! The bed is so much more comfy than the couch.

I have made 2 delicious home cooked meals this week and have started planning and packing food for a 12-hour work s... The scale isn't moving much but I am noticing small changes. Some of my clothes are fitting better. Fruits and vegetables are making more of an appearance in my meals. My attitude is improving.
I'm still really tired all the time though and it's hard to get motivated for exercise let alone complete a workout. A big reason for that is some medical is... Mon, 21 Jan 2013 06:43:40 EST Coming back... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5191844 It's been almost 2 years since blog entry. And probably that long since I've used my written journal too! I know how important it is now because I've been in a steady decline over the last 2 years. I have let "life" get in the way and I'm feeling the consequences now. My eating habits are awful. I have let exercise take a back seat to sleep. I haven't been able to stick with Spark Team challenges or meeting goals for about 4 months now. I've gained weight and lost energy. Now I am comm... Sat, 5 Jan 2013 16:10:00 EST The end of bootcamp! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2817134 These were my boot camp goals!
1. Do all of the bootcamp workouts---Goal met!

2. Cardio at least 6 days/week---Goal met!

3. Lose 6 pounds--Lost 4 pounds which makes me just as happy! At least it was a loss!

4. Decrease waist/hip ratio by 1 to 0.78--Didn't meet this one but did lose 1.75 inches from my waist and 1.5 inches from my hips.

5. Track nutrition daily---Goal met!

Overall, I'm pleased with the results. It got tough to ke... Sat, 30 Jan 2010 13:40:06 EST Blog challenge 1.20.10 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2773529 Reflections on bootcamp. I like the video workouts. They are short and don't throw off my schedule too much. I've tried to mix up my cardio workouts this past week or so too to challenge my body and not let it get used to the same old routines.

I guess that might be my only problem with bootcamp...getting bored. But it's not just bootcamp because I have a tendency to get bored quickly. I've learned to mix things up every couple of weeks by adding new videos or adding interv... Wed, 20 Jan 2010 17:49:55 EST Week 2 bootcamp...complete http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2758715 Made it through week 2 of bootcamp. I think the videos were a little easier this week. I'm starting to notice more endurance during cardio activities too. I'm feeling changes in the way clothing fits and see changes in the mirror. I hope some of that is reflected in a lower number on the scale too at the end of the month.

Off and running for week 3...
30 Sun, 17 Jan 2010 19:19:39 EST Week 1 bootcamp...done http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2723558 Yesterday, I completed week 1 of bootcamp. Some of the workouts were a challenge but I made it through all of them. I find myself looking forward to seeing what the workout will be the next day. I am actually looking forward to exercise...that's a new concept for me.

I've read that some other's are not weighing in until the end of bootcamp. I think I may wait to post my weight and measurements then too. That way I can focus on the workouts, not the results.

Here g... Sun, 10 Jan 2010 12:38:21 EST January Bootcamp...starting stats/goals http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2680819 Starting the bootcamp challenge tomorrow hoping to jump start the New Year! At least I'm adding a little variety during what can be a very boring, trying time of year for me.

My goals this month:
1. Do all of the bootcamp workouts
2. Cardio at least 6 days/week
3. Lose 6 pounds
4. Decrease waist/hip ratio by 1 to 0.78
5. Track nutrition daily

I see there alot of this in the bootcamp so I know I'm not doing this alone. Good luck to all! Sat, 2 Jan 2010 13:42:40 EST Christmas Eve! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2654055 I can't believe tomorrow is Christmas! Time goes so fast.

Merry Christmas to all in Sparkland! Enjoy your holidays! 446 443 Thu, 24 Dec 2009 12:31:55 EST Challenging week ahead http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2631312 I've got a challenging work week ahead. Basically have work M-F with the last 3 days being 7a-7p. One of those days is the free holiday dinner provided at the hospital for employees. I can typically make good choices there but those are the only choices unless I bring things from home. Also, working out is a challenge with three 12's in a row...not many daylight hours this time of year to fit something in. So I plan to add to my workouts on my shorter work days and days off.
Start... Sun, 13 Dec 2009 20:20:36 EST Trying to regain momentum... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2619890 I'm finally getting over the worst of this nasty cold. Not being able to sleep well and then working 3 nights in a row with it has left me completely wiped out. The scales showed a 1/2 lb increase which I'm ok with considering I kept my workouts very easy last week. So I'm trying to get back into harder workouts this week and stick to my nutrition plan. The holidays are coming fast so I need to regain my momentum to stay on track! Tue, 8 Dec 2009 16:10:05 EST November is over! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2598861 I can't believe there are only 31 days left in 2009! Time goes by way too quickly.

Overall, November has been a good month. I've seen steady weight loss and clothes are fitiing much better.

Thanksgiving was a success. I didn't overindulge and feel miserable at the end of the day. I think I even stayed in my calorie range for the day...not really sure how that happened but it did. Even snuck in some unplanned exercise.

Of course, the dreaded winter cold... Mon, 30 Nov 2009 16:14:34 EST Seeing changes! Making progress! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2568329 I'm finally seeing changes in the right direction. Weight is going down. Fitness levels going up. I think the thyroid medicine may be making a difference (at least it's not making me sick this time). I'm also seeing changes in the mirror. There is a curve at my waist...not straight up and down from the added pounds. Tummy a little flatter. Clothing fitting much better.

Now...heading into the holidays. I always tend to overeat (when in Rome...) at family gatherings. So f... Tue, 17 Nov 2009 10:07:09 EST New month! New me! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2528604 Got a slow start this morning. Ate breakfast, scheduled a mammogram, checked email...kind of felt like just vegging out and wasting the whole day. Then I realized that's the pattern I've fallen into on rare days off in the last 2 years. Now the days "off" are more plentiful and I'm still wasting them. So I got myself in gear...ate a healthy lunch...then started a project I've put off way too long. I tackled the entryway closet and cleaned the entryway top to bottom. A garbage bag full ... Mon, 2 Nov 2009 17:28:01 EST making changes http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2515092 Survived the doctor...he restarted the thyroid med at the lowest dose possible (can't really say no the thyroid is a very important little gland!)...keeping fingers crossed.
Also told him about the achy muscles...may be fibromyalgia...he gave me the option of meds or living with it...right now I can live with it...
Can't really complain...overall I'm healthy!
And I'm making positive changes in my life!
Now we head straight into the holidays!

430</em... Wed, 28 Oct 2009 11:34:03 EST first entry http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2512073 I am just a week into this and feel better already. I have always been organized which helps me stay focuseed. But personally, I have felt very out of control and disorganized the past few years. This site is giving me the organizational tools and control I need to stay focused so I can reach my goals.
But today I feel a little (ok alot) stressed. I am going for my annual doc visit and I have a bad feeling. I don't think there is anything wrong and he won't comment on my weight (... Tue, 27 Oct 2009 11:29:01 EST
