Sun, 9 Jun 2013 22:28:12 EST shopaholic... So yesterday I did a little shopping after the gym and found a cute bikini top, which is a bit more revealing than my current one - oh yea I picked it up. Fear not the way you look - be fierce. Today I had to pay a bill at Maurices. Those of you that know the store, know the problem. You go in to pay and think "I need to look around" and look around I did. I picked up 4 new dresses and a denim vest. All are crazy cute. I cannot wait to wear them. I hated dresses and skirts, all becaus... Thu, 6 Jun 2013 23:22:09 EST turn the page So I have a couple friends that started with a new gym about a year ago. They highly recommend it and all that goes with it - and they both look great and seem a lot healthier. Meanwhile I've just been maintaining. About a month or so ago, I got a gift certificate for the gym and decided to give it a shot. Today was my third visit. I'm nervous each time before I go, but love it when I get there. I thank god I took pilates and fit club, thats all I can say. Whats going to be different, ... Wed, 5 Jun 2013 22:32:53 EST ABC's A is for ABOVE and BEYOND...Does competition give you an extra push?
Depends. Sun, 2 Jun 2013 22:28:41 EST a parrothead weekend at the beach It was worth the 12 hr drive down and back - 10 bands, 3 days, hotel on the beach, party mostly on the beach. I may do this all over again next year :) Just a few pics to make you feel jealous and if you look around, you may find me in a bikini - yes a bikini. I found it, it fit and I said what the heck!

<img src="http://photos-ak.sparkpe... Wed, 1 May 2013 23:05:43 EST a wonderful weekend Took a little bit of a break from all the crazy workout I've been doing. Trying to find a happy medium and reset myself. Parrothead club meeting Friday night, amazed that I didn't even drink. Actually was good for me - but its hard to be out with loud drunk people anymore. Saturday, it was a nice day and I took the dogs for a long walk, then met up with some friends and went to see Collin Raye in Renfro Valley
<BR... Mon, 25 Mar 2013 23:06:59 EST Parrotheads on parade Yes thats what I said - we were in the Lexington St Paddy's Day parade. What a hoot. We had someone drive a convertible and we walked and handed out beads. Didn't think that through well, we ran out quickly. Then we went and got some - you guessed it liquid refreshements. See pics below - kinda funny. Walked a lot though. Parked a little distance from the bar we were ultimately going to, walked to there to meet people, then walked to the parade start, then in the parade and then back t... Sun, 17 Mar 2013 22:08:33 EST something thats on my mind Why is it that some friends don't seem to follow through? They ask you if you are interested in something, say they will keep you informed and then never follow up, or if they do - its after you've made other plans. The other thing I hate is when someone gives you a noncommital that they are interested - could go either way - and they never ever respond again, even if you ask them point blank. Drives me crazy.

Now my negative thoughts have been getting me in a bad state - not se... Fri, 8 Mar 2013 17:28:07 EST cleaning on a sunday - I gotta get a life
Had to take a pic of it. Thats actually for wearing out in cold weather. Found it in the closet upstairs and thought it would make a funny picture. Rowed and strength trained today, after walking the pups in the cold, then went to trader joes and got some goodies for the week. Gonna be tough to figure out what to make first, but someone posted on FB about making bourbon maple chili and I see that as a challenge. It ... Sun, 3 Mar 2013 17:26:28 EST Color me - Awesome So got up early and did the Color me Rad this morning. We jogged out of the gate but then settled back into a fast paced walk. Luckily a friends daughter was walking with us and we pulled out ahead despite sore calves, and mud and color stations, we managed to keep a good pace! And I jogged back into the finish. Boy was it cold out too. Found instructions on how to keep the color so I'm gonna work at that this weekend before washing to see if I can set, so excited that I can at least tr... Fri, 1 Mar 2013 22:25:23 EST Collage I have this hanging in my den at home - it speaks to me every day, at least every day I work from home. Its right above my computer so I can't avoid it.

While it doesn't specifically jump out at say these are my goals, it subtly reminds me what i need to do to meet my goals. Mon, 4 Feb 2013 22:57:03 EST letter to me You stuck with it - made it through the 12 weeks, tracked and exercised to a better you. I hope you are enjoying where you are at and having fun. Those are the most important things. Yes you wanted to lose weight, but even if you didn't you stuck with the program and tried your best. Looks at the friends you are making on the journey. Sometimes the struggle is easier when you have someone to share it with. Hopefully you learned important lessons that can be used moving forward. Mon, 28 Jan 2013 22:06:25 EST Bummer After losing 7 lbs last week - it was a little disappointing to step on the scale and be up this morning for the BLC weigh in. My fit class weigh in is tomorrow and I'm worried about that one too since I had the Relay for Life kick off tonight. I thought I did good but only time will tell - plus I saved about 1/2 the day in calories for it just in case. There was cajun food and qdoba chips.

Didn't get my 20 minutes in today but thats ok - needs a day off. Wed, 23 Jan 2013 21:31:00 EST Terrible tues Well not so terrible... I think I did well on nutrition today - went to a new taco place and had just one (I guess) large taco - was incredible. The place was not very classy. Came home and got in a feeble LCW. I need to put a rest day in here somewhere and need to make sure its not on a Tues - but the weather has been weird the last 2 tuesdays. Hoping for a good weigh in this week. Gonna have to do it at home since I have a Relay for Life Kick off tomorrow night - I haven't even planned ... Tue, 22 Jan 2013 22:51:45 EST this little piggie thats always a fun game to play with the kids.. but lately it seems like I just keep going to market. It would be great if I could do my before christmas shopping and not find anything to my liking...
this weekend I needed to pick up a router, I've known since Thanksgiving, maybe before, and I could always find a way to not go get one. It costs money...
Then I went to bed bath and beyond looking for wire baskets that I can put in the shower, but they just have the kind that suct... Mon, 21 Jan 2013 22:21:28 EST Sunny Sunday Beautiful day today but I feel like it got away from me. Walked the pups 2 miles, took them to the store to pick out treats. Went to beer school - had some really good beers, went to Bed, Bath and Beyond. Came home and made polenta with spicy chicken sausage and tomatoes, oh and cheese on it for dinner. Yum. Now I'm ready for bed. That beer just wiped me out.

Sun, 20 Jan 2013 20:51:07 EST oh the agony of the feet Had personal training, went shopping at Trader Joe's and Staples (needed a new router). Came home and walked the dogs. I let them lead me and it resulted in a 3.61 mile walk 40 , hence the agony of the feet. I really need a pedicure and foot massage. The dogs are out cold and I guess after I feed them, I may be too. I put in all my activity and spark tells me I used up 1,164 calories today - um thats about what I've eaten so far today.
I need to check my other calendar to... Sat, 19 Jan 2013 18:03:11 EST Revelations So do you ever look at pictures 388 and then look at yourself in the mirror 202 and say - that doesn't look like me? I used to look and pictures and think man I need to do something. Lately I've been looking at them saying, whos that pretty girl. Yea self esteem - it has nothing to do with weight, it has to do with what is on the inside and loving who you are. Its taken a long time but I do love the person that is now on the inside as much as the one on the outsid... Sat, 19 Jan 2013 10:12:55 EST tired Thursday Tired again - up late working on a challenge/quiz and finished it. Needed to as tomorrow is a parrothead meeting among other things and will likely have to walk the dogs (they beg and its pitiful).
Walked the dogs tonight in the cold, felt good. Sore from last nights Fit Club. For some reason I decided to jog on 2 of the cardio spots and used 8 lbs weights all around. Crazy!
Dinner tonight was some leftover chicken thighs that had been cooked in a soyaki marinade, some chicken... Thu, 17 Jan 2013 23:58:40 EST Woo Hoo Weds Fit Club weigh in tonight, lost 7 lbs in a week. 244 That will not be the net loss for the 12 weeks. Now I'm kinda of excited 321 because it looked like I wasn't going to get much of a loss and when I stepped on the scale and saw what it was I was shocked. Now I didn't eat or drink anything after noon today and I walked the dogs 313 before going - anything more and I wouldn't be able to do the class after weigh in. I took a snack and ate half before cl... Wed, 16 Jan 2013 21:46:54 EST And the rain came down... What a day. One dog at daycare and one at home. Not sure if she's still upset about it but vet visit tomorrow and hopefully we'll see some healing. Not looking forward to the morning. I have a dentist appointment - I like the dentist. The problem is the ice. If we get what they are expecting, we may get a bit of ice and getting to the dentist will be the issue. The vet is in the afternoon so it should be clear by then, I hope.
Did a Wii workout tonight, a little step, a little ... Tue, 15 Jan 2013 22:22:18 EST Anticipation is making me wait 40 All this waiting... Its not like I'm not doing anything. Working on some diet issues, playing with the calories that spark has set for me based on exercise. Two weeks ago it seemed like I gained 2 lbs every day. I was following the caloric intake, I was exercising but going nowhere. I'm just hoping that it was my body saying - oh you don't want to starve me you are feeding me. So everyday I do a little adjustment and check the scale the next morning. I sometimes wonder i... Mon, 14 Jan 2013 20:39:03 EST Its a blah kinda day By blah, I mean grey and rainy... I didn't get a chance to blog yesterday, was super busy. My one dog has an ulcerated cornea and I had to take her to the vet. New meds for her, yeah. Rushed home, found the cone of shame, gave her meds and to the gym for personal training and time on the elliptical. Then off to Sam's Club to get some supplies for the week... Spinach, Raspberries, protein snack bars, yogurt and ground turkey. Short time at home before heading to the comedy club to see ... Sun, 13 Jan 2013 10:06:04 EST team selection!!! I have to admit I got a chuckle out of my team name - I never figured at 46 I would actually be called a cougar - but hey, shoe fits... Last year I think my friends deemed me a cougar in training - in other words a panther. This should be fun! I'm excited to get started and I want to obliterate my goal!
Fri, 11 Jan 2013 23:30:33 EST Yummy dinner It was a gray and rainy day today - which wasn't bad since I was someplace I couldn't see it. Working on doing something with semi-fresh cranberries and some blackberries tonight. I'll need to get my 20 minutes tonight, prefer not out on a walk....

Dinner was the chicken thighs, dumplings and 8 healthy veggies mix from trader joes. I finally took a picture. To me it looks as good as it tastes.
Thu, 10 Jan 2013 19:05:41 EST my feet hurt What a day! Spent most of the daylight hours on the work computer with trips to the door to let the dogs out. n Yes it was me, I let the dogs out... Then after a couple hours of begging and pleading I finally got to take them for a walk. They LOVE to walk! 313 Then off to a meeting and before that could finish - FIT CLUB! The gig is on. 12 one hour classes(over 12 weeks) designed to work my butt off. 319 344 I survived but she was going easy on ... Wed, 9 Jan 2013 21:51:16 EST Thirsty Tuesday What a long day. Bliz got me up before 6 and just as I settled back into bed, I remembered I hadn't put out the garbage. So up again and once the shoes and coat were on and I went out in the frigid air, there was no going back to bed. Dropped the dogs at daycare and went into work.... Came home and went to a Parrothead Happy Hour - ate good food! Then walked the pups.
313 297 368 Tue, 8 Jan 2013 22:32:12 EST Monday Monday - can't stop that day 313 Had my pilates class first thing this morning - been achy all day and out of sorts. Not sure if it was just getting up extra early or the weather (baby its cold outside).
Made chicken thighs in Trader Joe's Soyaki marinade, in the crockpot, and I am so looking forward to dinner... BUT I have to walk the dogs first. They are wanting to go now and I have a little more time before we can do it. Then I need to get my before pics done and update the tracking - got my mea... Mon, 7 Jan 2013 17:05:32 EST Fun day Sunday 313 Took the dogs for their walk today - boy was it frigid out. It might not have been too bad except for the wind. I am looking forward to this week with Pilates tomorrow morning, Zumba tues evening, fit club weds evening and not sure about what I will do after that. Just have to remember the Zumba tomorrow morning (I'm not good with time in the morning). Watching Biggest Loser now to get an idea if it will be any different - so far no.
Dropped some stuff off at consign... Sun, 6 Jan 2013 22:35:26 EST Shop day saturday What a fun today. Got my elliptical in, felt like I was starting over - my muscles just didn't want to go there. Then got my personal training in - all hand weights no breaks, boy was that a tough one today. I think we went up in weights. Then did some shopping. TJMaxx was a disappointment - no shoes, no clothes- but managed to snag a new hand bag and a roller for stretching. Trader joes for some salad mix and dressings - oh and some chicken thighs (see below)... Catos for some sweater... Sat, 5 Jan 2013 21:12:52 EST oh no friday There should be a rule about men and happy hour - ie they do not mix. Sighs... I had good intentions but it didn't work out well. I ate too much of the wrong stuff and drank more than my share of beer.... Don't get me wrong it all tasted good, way too good... BUT it was for all the wrong reasons. Sometimes I wish I had more confidence. Losing weight won't bring that because I still of myself as the same person as before. And I can't forget I'm older. Ah well. it happened - get over ... Fri, 4 Jan 2013 21:08:52 EST tired Thursday What a week - or should I say 2 weeks (or more). Food, food and more food temptations and an increased desire to sit on my butt or sleep. Trying to get back into the groove of things for the new year. So much ahead this year to do.
Goal - run at least 5 5k's
Goal - take pilates
Goal - meet new people
Goal - have fun

So far I'm on track - signed up for 1 5K, signed up for 12 week pilates class, met new people on sparkpeople and meeting new people in class - a... Thu, 3 Jan 2013 21:53:44 EST great day today I signed up for the Color Me Rad 5K run in Lexington on March 2. I'm working on getting a team of people to join me for it - walk or jog. Ate well, had my personal training session, jogged laps during it and walked and jogged before it. Kept active the whole time. Went and got new sneakers to run in, had a problem with the bottom of my heel during my last lap. Then took the dogs out for a walk and made a healthy dinner with lots of vegetables.

312 313 ... Wed, 2 Jan 2013 20:53:09 EST My first entry to chapter 2013 What a wonderful evening yesterday, I know I ate and drank too much and coupled with brunch today will have to work a bit harder this next week. Me and buffet's do not mix. Tomorrow I will need to start planning out menus, something I'm not so good at. It would be easier if I had more than 1 mouth to feed (besides the dogs), since more food is portioned towards families rather than single people.
So time to man up and do the time!
Oh and my first goal is to prep for a Color ... Tue, 1 Jan 2013 23:05:01 EST Happy New Year Lets raise a toast tonight to a new can-do attitude! 408 I am looking forward to all of the challenges I have set in place so far for this year and all of the surprises along the way. I know I'm posting early tonight but with a walk and some prep for tonight to do - plus a party to go to, I know I won't have the time and I don't want to miss posting. I decided to take a fruit salad tonight. Not sure if I will add anything else to my offerings, but I know there will be sweets ... Mon, 31 Dec 2012 16:56:42 EST brunch buffet oh the dreaded brunch buffet - as a rule I avoid the feeding trough's but I went to lunch with a friend today and figured I could relax a little. I thought I did really bad - but in reality don't think I did bad at all + 1 walked the dogs almost 2 miles. I did intend to go to the gym but backed out cause my gym partner couldn't make it. I need to stop the excuses and just go - I just wish I had more local people to work out with.
I did get a really nice new to me sweater (consignment... Sun, 30 Dec 2012 21:22:51 EST good day today 30 minutes on the elliptical in weightloss mode but used it to do some interval training as well. 30 minutes with my personal trainer doing 1 minute drills - focused on Abs 28 . Did some shopping and then walked the dogs 1.7 miles in the snow! I really need to go to bed. My girl dog was up half the night last night. Not sure what her deal was but she had to go out every 2 hrs, so we all got to see accumulating snowfall.
Was a pretty good food day until I found the chocol... Sat, 29 Dec 2012 22:41:44 EST blessed day Today I celebrate 8 years that I've had Velma, my first white boxer. She came as a foster and wormed her cute little wiggly butt into my life. And it hasn't been the same since. She has taught me a lot about persistence and perseverance in the face of adversity. And shes been my walking buddy. She's 11 this coming year so I'm hoping she doesn't slow down.

I removed all the cookies from the house today - so now its just a matter of adjusting the diet and getting off my butt. ... Fri, 28 Dec 2012 20:48:22 EST 2 days after christmas I am trying so hard to get the cookies and other stuff out of the house and start eating good again. Pilates and Fit Club start in 2 weeks and I need a jump start. I love the pilates, just started it and it feels so good. The Fit Club I think will be fun, I'll be working with the same person that I've worked with for the past 5 months in one on one sessions. I really need to get serious though. I haven't lost any weight in those 5 months and see some changes, but not a lot.
Food has... Thu, 27 Dec 2012 21:34:33 EST today My arm is sore today - the one I use mostly for the pup. He likes to pull every once in awhile, especially for birds, squirrels, rabbits and other dogs. I'm hoping he'll get over that soon. I'm wondering if I'm going to have a hulk arm on one side soon from all of it...

Had the 4th curves workout last night - burned 450 calories according to their software... I could feel the burn this time, more so than other times. Its set up so that you don't use all of the machines 2 times... Thu, 21 Aug 2008 11:29:08 EST Second round of curves What a week. Got a new pup (10 month) and having issues with my female boxer - for some reason shes sensitive to everything. Been to the vet 4 days in a row....

Second curves workout and I did so well on my first one that it automatically upped me to the levels I had on the last workout. I found myself in the orange more often than not and didn't quite get to the level I needed to get to. I figure thats ok - something to work for. This second workout I burned 413 calories - ... Sat, 16 Aug 2008 14:25:51 EST curves smart training 8/13 So I've been going to Curves since June and I feel like I've been getting a pretty good workout. My goal is to always be sweating when I leave. And I found out recently that all the moves we do during out cardio bursts are not the standard walking in place. I LOVE doing all those moves, marching, side steps, back stroke... So they installed Curves Smart and I had my first training/workout yesterday. I LOVE IT. I could feel the workout so much better after 1 session. It was pretty easy ... Thu, 14 Aug 2008 09:40:27 EST
