Short (1.5 miles) and slow (30 minutes) but it was wonderful to be moving again. I have worked out in the garden most of the summer but this was the first time I actually moved my entire body for something besides food or entertainment. <BR> Please let this be the first of many. Wed, 6 Aug 2014 20:07:12 EST Back in it - sort of http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5361952 I'm back on the bike - 4-6 days a week. I finally roade 72 minutes the other day - first time in more than a month. I get afraid that I won't be able to find the time during the day to exercise and then I'll be back at square one. I do feel so much better when I exercise, physically and mentally. Mon, 20 May 2013 08:31:04 EST Exercise AGAIN http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5332004 Here I am again talking about exercise. I'm supposed to talk about how I'm going to change up my exercise to keep from getting bored. Changing things up would constitute getting back on my bike. A couple of weeks with migraines and I'm completely out of shape. I'll have to start back at level 4 and 20-30 minutes. Oh well. Mon, 22 Apr 2013 16:51:56 EST Exercise Excuses http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5237334 The task today is to talk about excuses used to keep from working out. My most common one at the moment is that it's too cold. There's no way I'm going outside at -9 F and running. But, it's even cold in the house and I just want to curl up on the sofa with blankets and watch the day go by. So, that's what I'm overcoming today. The room with my exercise bike is even colder than the living room. I did do a bit of heavy cleaning, probably 45 minutes anyway. Maybe I'll count that and stay... Mon, 4 Feb 2013 14:40:36 EST My Toes! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4808652 This is an historic day in my life. I won't get a parade and I don't even think I live within 100 miles of a telegraph office. I doubt anyone will stop me on the street and I won't be on the 9 o'clock news. But, it's big for me, so big I even stopped my children from their studies so they could witness the near miracle. I can not only touch, but stay down at my toes for several seconds. No bouncing necessary. I don't have to get a lot of momentum going like before. I can simply reach d... Wed, 28 Mar 2012 09:27:20 EST I'm going to Belize!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4763147 I'm not a subtle kind of person - I could never be a waitress; stand there smiling while the mom tries to convince her child that he really would like the green beans as a side dish while he's yelling about french fries. I would simply tell her to take the child to McDonald's where he'll (and I) will be much happier. So, you can see how I'm not cracked up to be the demur wife that gives quiet hints to her husband who is just crossing over to the "morbidly" obese line. I have tried hard not... Wed, 29 Feb 2012 10:24:08 EST Ground hog day with weight? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4743161 The third week in January I saw the 170's appear for the first time in several years. It must have seen it's shadow because I haven't seen it since. I've bounced around between 180.2 to 181.6. I've tried eating a few more calories in case my new found love of running is making my body think it's starving (obviously, my body has never looked in the mirror). I've tried eating a few less calories in case I'm underestimating. No effect. And let me say something about "estimating". My idea ... Fri, 17 Feb 2012 10:21:56 EST
