We did, and did some major Thanksgivakkah celebrating as well. I just got finished with the Seattle half, it didn't go quite as planned. My last race I ran about 8:30 miles, so this time I was hoping for more like 8 minute miles. But with getting sick a bunch and life in general I ended up running a 1:58 over the half marathon which is more like a 9 minute mile. I have mixed fee... After 5 months of steady training with no injuries and wondering what all the fuss was about, I managed to give myself bursitis of the hip from my race. I tried to ignore it and even though I told myself I was going to take it super easy the week after the race of course I failed, and ended up making it worse.

So I "grounded" myself and said NO RUNNING for a week. This is KILLER for me. I run almost every day and I am so miserable. I tried hot yoga, I tri... I had my mud and chocolate trail race at one of the local parks, it was a great trail and my first time competing in a trail run. I ran the 4.5 mile distance. I thought of it as a "speed workout" with the benefit of chocolate at the finish line while I am training for my 30th b-day half marathon.

Here I am acting tough before the race:

Because I ended up rather alone out ... Yikes!

But I have until July 20th to whip myself into shape. I went on the first "training run" today! I ran 5.9 miles in 68 minutes. Longest run in a LONG time. Although I am all set to go at any possible second, Sproutlette is taking her sweet time. I have been dilated to a 4 for the last 3 weeks, and as of my appointment last Thursday I am, not surprisingly, exactly the same. They stayed in a 5-star hotel (after scoring a killer deal online, since no one wanted to be there AFTER the Olympics) and were upgraded to the presidential suite which had a magnificent vi... (plus a recipe for lavender/rosemary sugar scrub) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3710687 So I just finished up with my contract work, and am now officially jobless- I have been looking for work here in Eastern Washington but started to take it a little easy when I began interviewing with a possible DREAM job- working with immigrant victims of domestic violence (at a not-for profit law firm). Anyway, I went to the interview and adored the people, and was SO excited to get a call back.

The second interview was scary! Me at the front of the conference table with 8 people...
