When I first met and exceeded my goal weight in 2007, I thought I was set for life...then life happened.

We decided to try to have a baby and the stress of trying to get pregnant after years of fertility issues threw me far from the wagon. I gained 15 pounds during that process but I was still at a healthy weight.

During my pregnancy, I far exceeded my highest weight ever but I was so excited to be able to move again aft... Sat, 13 Oct 2012 23:09:07 EST SparkPeople's New Running Center http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4007476 I have a delimma. I've been getting the running itch again. We (my husband and I) started running in late '08 or early '09. We had trained with friends and had signed up for a few 5K's which gave us plenty of motivation to get out there and run! Since having my baby girl in March of last year, I have been doing my workouts primarly on the treadmill - but by speed-walking on inclines. I haven't fully gotten back into running yet. I keep urging my husband (who complains about his own weig... Thu, 10 Feb 2011 17:04:56 EST TGIF http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3989811 Well, it's been a rough week but now that I'm at the tail-end of it I'm beginning to feel much better.

I think a majority of the stress earlier in the week was because of PMS. My husband can stress me out (who's doesn't?) but not usually to the extent of this week.

TOM started last night and all of a sudden a weight was lifted and I'm back to feeling somewhat normal again (no, I wasn't worried about being pregnant - my hubby was snipped earlier this year - it was defini... Fri, 4 Feb 2011 11:09:06 EST It's been a while http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3983546 So I was thinking this morning that it's been quite a while since I've blogged my thoughts... and I guess I need to because I've really faltered on my weight loss.

Things have been a bit stressful lately, and I'm PMS'ing which means I'm eating more than I should and my weight loss has stalled yet again.

Part of it is that I'm working so many more hours at this new job. Where has the time gone?

I haven't made any resolutions for this year yet - I'm waiting for March before I make any firm resolutions. Afterall, I have to get through this pregnancy first. A mere 9 weeks left to go before our new baby girl arrives. I never thought I'd want to rush a pregnancy, but I'll be so glad when she gets here. Mon, 4 Jan 2010 21:00:51 EST Tests for the baby http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2636255 Well, we've hit 28 weeks and so far everything is going perfectly. I took my Glucose Tolerance Test (testing for gestational diabetes) last week and today my doctor said my numbers were perfect. I was so relieved because when I was pregnant with my daughter in '93 my sugar was leeching out into my urine which is a bad indicator. I'm not sure if I was ever diagnosed with gestational diabetes with her since I was in Germany but there was still that concern. So to get that positive informati... Who you are. What you stand for.

This is such a general question that it’s hard to answer. First, my immediate family is priority one. They come before anything including friends, work, or inconsequential happenings in the world around us. We got a CD with pictures and video's from the ultrasound. It was awesome.

Jason was having difficulties with the website he was maintaining so he deleted the account. He created a new one. Tue, 22 Sep 2009 22:26:43 EST Regular OB Checkup http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2385106 Went to the doctor yesterday for my monthly checkup. Everything continues to be normal except my doc wants me to go see a cardiologist. I've been having some odd sensations - for no apparent reason my heartrate increases and I can feel my pulse throughout my entire body; it makes me breathe a little heavier and more shallow and makes me feel a little weak. Jason says it could be anxiety but I don't know. Typically it happens a couple of times a week and usually after I eat but it happened... Just got a call this morning from the doctor's office that completed the NT Scan. They said everything is normal! If you need or want more details on what the NT Scan is, read my August 26th blog. It's basically checking for Down's etc.

I'm so happy!! Wed, 2 Sep 2009 10:07:16 EST Start of baby website http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2352431 Jason has it started - he's outlined part of our story and at the bottom of the page, click on the speaker to download and hear the heartbeat.

The thumps in the sound wave is the baby doing flips. He decided it was time for him to get a physical and so the doc sent him off for a blood panel. We set a 9:00 appointment at Quest and got called in quickly after arrival (Jason got a kick out of "jumping" in line - if you don't make an appointment, you can almost guarantee to be there for at least an hour during their busy times). After getting him through re... Wed, 26 Aug 2009 15:58:42 EST Update on doctor's appointment, etc. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2308931 Well, as some of you may know I was dealing with a LOT of nausea and heartburn. I spoke to my doctor's office and they recommended taking 50 mg of a B6 supplement twice a day for the nausea. I took it for 3 or 4 days before it finally started providing some relief.

The bad nausea I was having is better but I still have my good and bad periods throughout the day. Mornings can be tough because I'm supposed to eat breakfast. Problem is that I've never been a breakfast kind of girl... Wed, 12 Aug 2009 09:57:21 EST Just Thinkin' Out Loud http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2250467 I hope everyone is having a great week!

Yesterday was the first day in what feels like forever that I felt semi-normal, meaning not completely nauseous, so Jason and I went to the gym. He ran 2 1/2 miles in 25 minutes but decided to take a short break and during that break started feeling a little dizzy so decided to take it easy from there on out. He works in a very HOT environment - as I've outlined before - so after working in the heat all day it's probably not real good for h... He works in Cocoa in a plastic manufacturing plant and it's in a non air-conditioned warehouse building. Basically it's an open air building with very hot machines so you can pretty much guarantee its 20 degrees hotter in there than it is outside at any given time. In saying that, he can get dehydrated pretty quickly if he doesn't drink enough fluids during the day. Fortunately, he cuts back on the Mountain Dew during the summer a... Tue, 30 Jun 2009 09:22:07 EST Sunday's Run http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2189611 Well, Jason and I took two days off of exercise (Friday and Saturday) for one reason or another but I was proud of myself at the run last night.

I completed the first mile WITH Suezette and Charlene - I was pretty proud of that since they've been doing it more consistently than I have. That is SO FRUSTRATING!!!

I know I shouldn't have run last night but we got a full hour in at the gym and I did a 10 minute warmup on the treadmill at a 15% incline then COMPLETED the 5K! Except the treadmill thinks that a 5K is more like 3 1/2 miles! I completed it in 45 minutes - I did have to slow it down several times to catch my breath and get a drink but I still did it! I did the whole last 3/4 mile without stopping too. It f... Thu, 25 Jun 2009 09:53:47 EST Running http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2176575 Well, as you know, Jason and I joined a gym. We've been so busy since we joined but finally was able to go last night. It was late - about 9:10 when we got there (they close at 10:00) so we didn't have a lot of time to waste getting started. I told Jason I was going to hit the treadmill because I feel like I'll get the most bang for my buck there.

At first, I couldn't decide which program to do so I played with the various programs available; most of them were walking programs b... We didn't work out tonight because I had to get homework at least half way done before tomorrow and it's quite time consuming, as I'm sure you know!

My mp3 player has "wireless" headphones (they're wired together but not to the unit), it has an armband and a pedometer and stopwatch. Still not a Garmin with a calorie counter (or rib band), but it's pretty nice! It'll make running easier since I won't have to deal with ... Sat, 20 Jun 2009 00:37:12 EST Tuesday's Run http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2157141 Jason and I went out running again tonight near our house. We walked just over a mile to a local elementary school then ran a mile and a half on their track in 15 minutes. My shins are still feeling good. They're a little bit sore but nothing like they had been. I'm hoping that they're finally catching up to the rest of me. I'm icing them just to be safe but I gotta go shower. It did start to rain while we were out, not that we weren't wet enough!

Have a great evening! Tue, 16 Jun 2009 22:02:28 EST Sunday's Run http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2151791 Wow, it is so exciting that so many people showed up to yesterday's run. And with so many people at such varying levels I never felt isolated at any time. Well, my husband stays with me instead of running on his own, which is a true sweetie, but it was nice to be able to leave one group and catch up with another. We got to visit with almost everyone that way.

But on a high-note, I jogged my entire first mile!! I haven't done that since elementary school!!! WOOHOO! And my shin... I walked through Wal-Mart last night for grocery shopping. No problems there. Well, I want to exercise darn it!

So we went out and played a little soccer and I refuse to just stand there...I gotta chase the stinkin' ball. I knew from the start that it was not going to feel good, but OMG they hurt so much now! So I sit here with ice packs, hoping they'll help. I just want these stupid shins to stop hurting... Maybe I just needed some time off work, but I believe that it has to do with the help of some good friends.

I had a great Memorial Day weekend; I spent the majority of it with my Spark friends including Suezette, Stephanie and Craig...and of course my wonderful husband.

Most fun day of all was the busy day yesterday. We started out on a nature tour - led by my hubby - in search of a "wild" alligator. Jason is ... It must be hormonal. Let me see if I can define it without being all over the place. Be forewarned, it's a little intense so stop here if you don't want to hear it!

With the exception of the last couple of days, I've been keeping on top of the threads but haven't posted much. I seem to have snapped out of it the last couple of days though. The reason I don't typically post is because I feel like I'm either ... Tue, 19 May 2009 12:09:31 EST Doctor's appointment http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2044988 Well, I just got back from seeing my doctor. He's such a nice man. I think they were expecting me to be more aggressive with my treatment but I had to tell them that I had to stop going for now because I can't afford it. The nurse sounded more disappointed than the doctor. She almost ushered me out the door before I even got to see him but I told her I had some questions for him.

So like I said, he's such a nice man. Fri, 8 May 2009 11:04:59 EST Future Planning http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2039374 Well, it's more than 3 weeks post-surgery and I'm moving on to the planning stages again. I see my doctor this Friday to see what he suggest we do from this point on but I can't afford any more fertility treatments this year.

I went ahead and bought an ovulation kit to track my ovulation this month. He did say not to expect to get pregnant the first month because of the dissolving patches he left on my ovary and other places but if I've calculated correctly, I'll ovulate after tha... Wed, 6 May 2009 14:56:58 EST Post-Op Appointment http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1993856 I saw my doctor today and he removed the stitches. He said everything went very well and that I'm in the "healing period", meaning that I probably won't get pregnant in the next month or so. He asked if I saw the video and I told him my husband had popped the video in but all we saw were pictures. He said if it was recorded properly, there should be a video too. So when I got home, I looked and sure enough there were about 5 separate videos.

The videos outlined where he was at ... I'm still very tired but I'm not sure if that is from the surgery or just from not being very active this week. It finally quit hurting to hiccup, sneeze and cough, which is nice!

My follow-up appointment is Tuesday; I'll find out what's... Sun, 19 Apr 2009 10:39:05 EST Three Days Post Surgery http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1981131 Today is the first day I've felt somewhat human again since the surgery. I've got a little spring back to my step versus the hunched-over, slow gait I've had the last three days. I can actually stand up-right and can walk at a more normal pace.

I took my daughter to school this morning and the bumps didn't hurt. I've been very tired but I haven't had my morning coffee yet! I'm thinking sleep is very good for a healing body.

My lower back muscles are a little sore but... Fri, 17 Apr 2009 11:14:14 EST Two days post surgery http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1977621 Wow, I'm feeling so much better this morning than I did yesterday. I had to take my daughter to school and that hurt quite a bit (who knew there were so many bumps in the road?); my brother took off early this morning to hang out with some buddies - I told him I had to toughen up anyway and that I could do it.

I slept pretty well and mostly on my stomach (there are three small incisions on and around my lower abdomen that make it challenging). I have a body pillow that I used to ... Thu, 16 Apr 2009 08:47:48 EST Surgery and Post-Surgery http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1975663 ARGH, so this is my second time typing this out. I HATE losing stuff!! I accidently hit the escape key earlier after hobbling back from the bathroom.

This is a little lengthy so bare with me.

So we got to the hospital just as the rain started. Thank goodness we got there early; I would have hated riding with Jason in a real downpour. Wed, 15 Apr 2009 15:11:03 EST One week until surgery http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1954251 Well, I'm down to a week; I'm half excited, half anxious about it. My last one went so smoothly but this is a different doctor and he's going to be moving a lot more stuff around so I'm not sure how sore I'm going to be.

I haven't done a lot of exercising the last two nights because I've been so busy in the evenings. Monday night I had to go grocery shopping because we were so busy over the weekend that I couldn't do it. After shopping, I had to make dinner and go straight to be... Wed, 8 Apr 2009 09:23:52 EST Wednesday - this week's training http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1932770 Well, I did Jillian Michaels twice this week so far since my neck is finally healed. I'll get there though, it'll just take some time.

Tonight will be cardio again. I love these video's even though I'm cussing her out during some of the video because it's so challenging! My daughter just turned 16, my husband was getting irratated by her, I'm on my period, I'm stressed over finances, I'm feeling a little isolated from my Spark ladies because most of them live so far south and I have so many people relying on me and it's quite wearing.

Those relying on me (or... Mon, 30 Mar 2009 09:51:19 EST Not motivated http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1923752 I'm not sure what is wrong with me today. I am feeling so unmotivated. I don't want to do anything - I got laundry done anyway. I'm just feeling so tired and I want to sleep, sleep, sleep; but I refuse to sleep away my weekend. But at the same time, I'm so bored. I imagine it's just stress, I don't know what else it could be. Sun, 29 Mar 2009 17:59:40 EST Goals other than weightloss http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1886850 Ah, this is easy. Since starting SparkPeople, I have been motivated to do more. I wanted to go back to school for years and finally got the nerve to go back 15 months ago and am SO GLAD I did. So my huge goal other than weightloss is getting my degree!

I'd also like to have another baby, but nature is preventing that; we're working on it though. Tue, 17 Mar 2009 09:17:10 EST Biggest Healthy Eating Accomplishment http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1865952 So far, the biggest changes I have made to my diet is that I regularly use the leanest ground beef I can find (regardless of the price!), have actually substituted with ground turkey a couple of times, and have switched permanently to light margarine. It then appears that we are among the privileged.

============================

*sigh* Well, I really wish I could do this more. There isn't much that I need or want that others have, but there is one thing; there was a baby-boom in 2008 and I wan... Sat, 31 Jan 2009 10:35:55 EST How does your significant other influence your eating habits? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1671287 This really depends. If he knows I'm really serious and focused on losing weight, he doesn't try to corrupt me too much but as soon as he knows I falter just a bit he's really bad about offering junk food. Wed, 7 Jan 2009 21:54:12 EST Blog Prompt for Dec 7-13 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1603273 This year, I'm not sure I can prevent the weight gain. I'm so far off the program that I can't seem to find my way back. I still visit nearly every day and try to log my food consistently but my focus has been on trying to get pregnant for so long that it's hard for me to think about what I'm eating. It's just been very depressing and I hope that I'm able to get back on track soon. Tue, 9 Dec 2008 14:21:12 EST
