We'd been divorced for almost 20 years. But we were always on friendly terms.
We were a united front for our kids. We went Christmas & birthday shopping together and a couple times he brought me with on vacations, with the kids. We attended all functions for the kids together & would sit together. Our relationship, after our divorce was like good friends, and I guess we were.

He had always been fairly healthy, except for t... Wed, 5 Mar 2014 22:00:55 EST Broke Another Chair http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5614108 Yup, I've broken two rocking chairs now.

I am overweight, about 40 pounds overweight. But really, is 158 pounds enough to break two wooden rocking chairs, in the span of 2 months? Yeah, I guess it is.

I like to sit in a rocking chair because my sofa is too soft for my back. The last time I sat on the sofa I had to go see the chiropractor.

So, the 1st chair I broke was an older bentwood rocker. The cane seat started coming lose & then the wood that held... Work, family, moving, being stuck at a plateau, with my weight.

The little seasonal job was awful & I gave my 2 week notice. My supervisor did everything she could, to get me to stay & I'm still there.

In February I had a car accident & totaled my car. It was really terrifying. I was bruised up and the airbag broke my no... The grief is still so sharp and we feel like we are just barely surviving each day.
Then more bad news.
A very dear childhood friend of mine's daughter has been very ill. For about 6 years she's been fighting ... Tue, 18 Dec 2012 18:59:31 EST Where has my Spark gone? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5146038 It's not out, but it's flickering.

Some examples:

*While I still weigh / measure all my food, I only track it about 4 days a week.
*Only getting to the gym 1 day a week, I used to go 4 to 5 days.
*Have truly lost interest in coming to SparkPeople.

I do have a habit of jumping into projects and not following through. I tend to be gung ho at first and then lose interest. So when I hit my 1 year anniversary, in Oct., with SparkPeople I was really pr... Sun, 25 Nov 2012 14:12:20 EST Ramblings on moving away http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5131024 Growing up, my family moved every four years. I remember one move ~ my mother actually cried, as we turned the corner of our street, for the last time. She was not a woman who was prone to crying, she prided herself on being tough as nails. I was 9, but I got it. We were leaving our beautiful house behind, our friends, neighbors even my aunt, uncle and all my fun cousins. Never to return, and we never did. We moved so much that my brother and I only had one school in common.
... Sun, 21 Oct 2012 23:14:30 EST I think I need a hug http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5096459 My boyfriend and I have been back from vacation for two days. How could everything, already, be so awful?

I know that everyone has problems and stress. And maybe my issues are small, compared to others. But right now, I feel overwhelmed.
Of course, the problems we had when we went on vacation are still here. I've got a new job prospect, that is making me uneasy. We are looking for a new house and that is really stressing me out. My children each have ongoing issues in ... Fri, 12 Oct 2012 12:19:09 EST My very 1st, 5K Race http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5060396 Today was the day.
The alarm went off at 6AM, ughhh, still dark out. I am just not a morning person, even though I have to get up at 4:15A for work. I stayed in bed, for a few extra minutes, because I was so sleepy. I had gone to bed later than I had wanted to, last night. Which resulted in about 6 hours of sleep. I knew this was not a good way to start the day.

But, I got up and ate my usual breakfast. It was so cold in the house. I really do not have any warm clothe... I have really been wanting to have this done. I was very excited that it was so close and free.

I zipped down there, this afternoon and was pleased that there was no line. I was happy to see that I recognized the woman doing the test. I had gone to a Zumba Demo class, the night before and she was the instructor. She was terrific. She remembered me & we chatted about Zumba and she gav... Wed, 5 Sep 2012 21:37:54 EST Can't just relax & enjoy the day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5024184 I spend a good deal of time in a Forest Preserve near my house. Just love it there, it's an amazing slice of pure wilderness, in a very urban area. Deer have literally been 3 feet from me. Turtles, frogs, assorted birds, raccoons, beavers...it is just so tranquil and wonderful.
I am extremely familiar with the woods. I'm there about 3 times a week, almost always by myself. I use the bicycle path, which is very busy. And I kayak the lake once a week. I spent tons of time, as a teen... Yet, I have never been able to change my ways. I am proud to say that lately, there has been improvement. SparkPeople has helped me get motivated. The tracking of food & exercise is something I look forward to doing. Your never going to meet your goals if you can't get started.
I am still a... Wed, 8 Aug 2012 22:56:39 EST Forever young http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4977011 I have slowly been adding different types of exercise & activities into my workout routine. Not only at the gym, but also more sports related activities. I'm always looking for something fun to do outside.

One of the places I bike ride at, has 3 good sized lakes. There are a few people who kayak there. Last week, as I was loading up my bike, a kayaker arrived. I watched him unload his gear and head down to the water. It was at that moment that I decided that I was going to ... Mon, 9 Jul 2012 11:48:28 EST Ready to kick off July! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4951226 I had my daughters Graduation Party, on June 30th. We had a smaller then expected turn out. Which means: I have got a large amount of cake, chocolate, potato chips & sweets. All calling my name. The temptation is really unbelievable. This is a test of my willpower, like no other. Me, alone, unattended with so many of my trigger foods.

Add that to how bad June was. A hectic month, with too much work and not enough sleep. I did not get enough exercise in and I had a million e... Mon, 2 Jul 2012 01:12:36 EST Size 11 is the new size 3 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4929248 When I was in High School I weighed around 125 - 130 and I wore a size 11. Always a size 11, I know this for sure, because I wanted to be a size 9, but I was not.

So, 20 some years later, after losing almost 40 pounds, I am at 128 again. But it is not the same. There is some extra skin now, some flabbiness and some areas of stubbon fat that I did not have when I was 16. I was a leaner 128 then.

How is it possible that the much older, flabbier me put on my daug... Sat, 16 Jun 2012 17:49:25 EST 10 Million Dollars awarded in court today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4913798 Yup. It's true. 10 million was awarded to my boyfriend, in the wrongful death of his son.

Which does nothing to bring Michael back. To hear all the kids laughing together, to mend our broken hearts, to make our family whole & happy again.
Michael was worth more than 10 million dollars to us. He was priceless. But the court decided that the reckless driver should pay us this amount.
It's ridiculous. A driver who continues to not show up for his court dates, w... Tue, 5 Jun 2012 20:31:19 EST I'm not afraid to participate...anymore http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4905861 One June 8th, I'll have been on SparkPeople for 8 months. I was not big on participating with others, on the site. I'd play a couple games, comment on friends blogs occasionally, but that was about it. I never even posted a blog.

During that time, I joined a few different SparkTeams. I joined because there was something that applied to my life. These teams appealed to me because of a special interest, a goal, or support group. I would pop in and read a thread or two, but rar... Thu, 31 May 2012 12:49:30 EST
