It's been a little bit of a rocky start, with a headache one day due to eating too little fat and struggling a bit with balance. Plus, I was trying to save as many Weekly Points as possible for a party today.

Now, the party is over and luckily a lot of the people there were on various restrictive diets, so there was plenty to eat. Barbecued chicken breasts or plain c... Sat, 2 Apr 2011 21:16:40 EST Looking skinnier! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4116639 Tonight was the first time I had been in the group exercise room at the Y, with its three walls of full length mirrors, in two weeks. The last few times I'd been there, I'd felt really fat with my muffin top hanging out over the top of even my stretchiest workout pants. Tonight I noticed I'm looking much better -- there's finally an appreciable visual difference to my 8.6 pound weight loss, which makes me feel good.

I think the Zumba class I went to was the best one I've ever been... Fri, 25 Mar 2011 00:04:00 EST Ending my second week as a "meetings member" http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4111022 Tomorrow afternoon, I'll have my second weigh-in at the WW center. I'm hoping for a good loss, but I'm feeling a little "lost" not being able to have my daily check-in with the scale. It's going to take some getting used to, only having one weigh-in on the "official" scale. So far I haven't been able to bring myself to put the bathroom scale in the closet. I feel like it helps keep me on track. I don't obsess over small fluctuations and gains, but I guess it could be argued that even stepping... Tue, 22 Mar 2011 20:37:54 EST I think I'm a "meetings" person... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4104041 I've been to two WW meetings so far -- the one I weighed in at, and another one this morning to get a feel for a different leader. I want to try out as many different leaders as I can before I settle on my "favorite."

I still plan to weigh in at the Wednesday evening meeting, as I did really like that leader and she shares my dislike for the "diet" mentality. But I have to admit that this morning's meeting was great. The leader was an absolute hoot, and we spent the last 5 minutes ... Sat, 19 Mar 2011 23:47:35 EST Going to my first WW meeting today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4096415 I've been thinking about it for a while, and finally decided today to go ahead and upgrade to the WW monthly pass so I can attend meetings. My primary reason is so that I can achieve "lifetime" status when I hit goal, and have the extra motivation to stay there once I get there, by being able to attend meetings for free and remain a member as long as I stay within 2 lbs of my goal weight.

I've been at my goal weight before, maintained it for a while, then slowly fell off the wagon ... Wed, 16 Mar 2011 15:13:37 EST Week 4 - Another 1.6 lbs down! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4094435 I've now been following Weight Watchers PointsPlus for a month, and I could not be more thrilled with the results. I've lost a total of 8 lbs now, without feeling hungry, and while feeling completely in control. I've been able to eat out, have splurges, and still lose quickly, which is great. I feel like there's always an option of *something* I can eat, I just have to make the healthy (i.e. 0 point) choice when there's not a lot of point-room left in my day or week.

For the last c... Tue, 15 Mar 2011 20:40:46 EST Week 3 Weigh-In - Woohoo! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4075833 I'm down 1.6 pounds this week, for a total 3-week loss of 6.4 pounds! I have also lost a total of 2.75". My clothes are fitting much better, and I feel better too. I'm enjoying trying new recipes and new foods.

This past week, I set a goal to try at least one new ingredient. I ended up picking a slow cooker recipe that used two ingredients I hadn't cooked with before -- leeks and turnips. It was a vegetable beef stew, and turned out super yummy. Only 5 PointsPlus per serving of TWO... Tue, 8 Mar 2011 11:08:48 EST Week 2 Weigh-In and Two Small Victories Today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4058586 This morning I was down 0.4 lbs from last week, but tonight at Y-weight I was down 1.8 pounds from last week. So I'm going to guess my real loss was somewhere in between. ;) I took the 0.4 for my official log since I'm using my morning weigh-in for WW Online. It would be easy to be frustrated with that, but interestingly, I'm not. It's downward! And as long as the trend continues to be downward, I'm happy with that.

Today is National Pancake Day, which means free pancakes at IHOP.... Tue, 1 Mar 2011 20:00:06 EST Ending my second week on Weight Watchers http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4054936 Today is the last day of my second week on Weight Watchers -- tomorrow morning is my "official" self weigh-in and tomorrow is also Y-weight, my "meeting" and accountability weigh-in. I have to say that I am really liking the new PointsPlus program. Like Jennifer Hudson says in the commercial, I really do feel in control. If I'm hungry in the evening, I know I can always pick up a 0-point veggie or fruit and satiate that hunger...it's never off-limits. I have plenty of weekly points for a splu... Mon, 28 Feb 2011 16:13:24 EST I hate the word diet. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4041253 SparkPeople is supposed to be all about a lifestyle change, yet I see the word "diet" come up a lot. It makes me cringe when I see it, because I hate the word diet.

Why? Because the word "diet" often connotes something that is temporary -- some sort of strange way of eating that will help you lose weight for the short term but isn't something that you can (or plan to) do every day for the rest of your life. A "diet" is something that you eventually go off of...and I think we all kn... Wed, 23 Feb 2011 11:39:05 EST 32% Body Fat http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4002114 We did body fat analysis tonight at Y-Weight -- the first time I have ever had a reading done on me. I've never bought a body fat scale because I've heard they are inaccurate, and I never felt like doing all of the restrictive things that were required to have it done on the system they had at Miami. This was pretty easy, and it sounds fairly accurate given what my goal weight is and where I was when I was at that weight.

So, I am 32% fat. 48 pounds of me are fat. That's a lot. But... Tue, 8 Feb 2011 20:00:05 EST Setting a Reward for Weight Loss http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3603352 Yesterday, I was shopping online at Shabby Apple with a Groupon and ordering a new dress when I stumbled into their fitness section. I had never really looked at it before, but they have some cute stuff. And thus, my reward for losing 10 lbs became a new workout outfit from their fitness line.

The prices aren't too bad -- $74 ... Fri, 3 Sep 2010 10:23:11 EST I spun today! As London Tipton would say, "YAY MEEEE!!!" http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3573295 (The title reference is from the Suite Life of Zack & Cody for non Disney channel fans. ;)

Today I tried my first spin class. My workout buddy wasn't feeling good this morning so I was going to be going it alone...I had already looked at the schedule for the branch we usually go to and there were no interesting classes on there. But I saw a beginner's spin class at the other branch beginning at 10 am. I thought I would try it. Waffled back and forth a bit. When I left the house I s... Wed, 25 Aug 2010 12:18:52 EST Two-day workout/gym streak -- woohoo! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3570134 I think I have started over about a million times but never seem to be able to get back going, so I'm celebrating this tiny, small streak of going to the gym two days in a row and doing a yoga workout yesterday and water aerobics today. I really enjoyed the water aerobics, and so did my friend. We're helping "push" each other to the gym by meeting each morning at 9 am, and so far it's working!

I definitely feel the water aerobics already. But I'll totally be going back for that one... Tue, 24 Aug 2010 14:16:29 EST Coming up with a plan for starting over http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2978380 The biggest motivation I ever had to lose weight was my wedding...I wanted to look good in the pictures and in my dress. I reached my goal, and I did that. But after that point, I've struggled, because nothing has provided the same concrete "goal date" and subsequent motivation.

I like Terje's idea from her comment my last blog entry, to enter a race and train for it. I chose an event, but in the last week I've sort of come to a realization about running -- it's not really somethin... Tue, 9 Mar 2010 14:05:21 EST Wow, it's been a while... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2950637 I just read my last blog entry, from last May...and it's amazing how it describes exactly how I feel right now. Tired and unmotivated, and hungry all the time. I wish I could do something to get my feet back under me and turn this around once and for all...I'm so tired of bouncing around, and I can see that scale creeping back up. I worked so hard to get to where I was...and I can't believe I'm giving it up, but I can't seem to stop myself.

My lunch today was pretty bad...and so hu... Tue, 2 Mar 2010 21:49:02 EST Winter blahs just won't go away... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2033374 Here lately, the best way to describe how I've felt has been one word: Blah. I'm tired all the time, in spite of getting 8-9 hours of sleep every night, and I feel hungry all the time too. I'm trying to stay in my calorie range, but it seems my body isn't satisfied until it has at least 1750 for the day. I've gained 5 pounds since my lowest point, which was less than a pound from my goal, and I want to get rid of it but I just feel very unmotivated. It's like the winter blahs just refuse ... Mon, 4 May 2009 21:07:55 EST Groundhog Run 2009 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1777659 The 2009 Groundhog Run is in the record books -- woohoo! :) I finished in 48:05. I'm happy with that...I had to walk a little bit because the course involved some pretty steep hills which was hard to run, plus it was really windy...headwind+steep hill=very hard running. I think I was actually walking faster than I had been running when I switched.

Being inside the cave was really neat...we went through a finished part and an unfinished part...most of what we ran through was unfi... Sat, 7 Feb 2009 09:59:02 EST New Running Plan http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1457398 Time for my monthly blog entry...heh. I always have good intentions with these things but then they fall by the wayside. Things are getting busier now at work so my schedule is getting more full and it's making it harder to fit the exercise in and even harder to blog. (But, I do definitely think it's way better to go out and run for 30 minutes than to spend 30 minutes composing a blog post, so if it comes down to those two, I'm gonna choose the exercise...it just does me more good. Obvious... Sat, 13 Sep 2008 21:55:35 EST So Hot http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1432981 There are 30 days left in my Biggest Loser Challenge on SP and I've lost 1 pound. Actually I lost 2 pounds, then gained 4, then lost 3. This is due to my inability to stay on track. I do think I've found part of the problem though -- it's too HOT. I'm in the final stages of the Couch to 5K running program, but as yet have been unable to complete more than about 25 minutes of straight running without getting so hot that my face is beet red and I feel like I just can't go anymore.
<BR... Sun, 31 Aug 2008 15:53:19 EST How bad do I want this? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1344072 I think that's the question I need to be asking myself right now. Don't get me wrong, the running program is going great -- that's not the problem at all. It's my eating that's the problem. I did so well for a few days and I was almost 1 lb down from where I had been on the day of our last weigh-in, then today I really think I did myself in. My total I estimate to be about 2100 calories for the day. Yesterday was higher but it was mostly healthy foods and I did get my veggies and fruits ... Fri, 18 Jul 2008 23:23:46 EST A Major Accomplishment + Reflections on the Positive http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1301306 Today I started Week 4 of the Couch to 5K program, after working on week 3 for two weeks to build leg endurance. I went out and ran this morning, and despite the sun beating down on my face, it sure felt GOOD! When I downloaded my new week 4 podcast this morning and looked at the schedule on CoolRunning.com, I first thought, "Oh boy, this may or may not work." The recovery periods are now much shorter, and the runs much longer. So I made up my mind to pace myself early on, and much to my ... Sun, 29 Jun 2008 15:23:01 EST Updated on Life and Couch to 5K http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1288999 Due to my knee still being a bit sore and my heart rate staying high during the longer 3-minute runs, I decided to repeat week 3 of my C25K program instead of moving on to week 4 this week. I am taking my time with this, slow and steady, because I want it to really work and be worth something to me. And I'm willing for it to take a few weeks longer to accomplish that. Last night I went out for a run and felt invigorated when I got back. My knee was very sore when I left, but it was only s... Mon, 23 Jun 2008 18:27:31 EST Couch to 5K: Week 3 Update http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1281837 I just finished the week 3 portion of my Couch to 5K training program, and I think I might repeat it. I can control my heart rate on the treadmill, but not when I'm running outside, which I definitely want to be able to do. My knee is starting to get a little sore too so I think it might need a little more time to warm up to all of this running. My feet feel great in my running shoes though...they are awesome. I love them!

I'm loving Robert Ullrey's Couch to 5K podcasts ( <link... Thu, 19 Jun 2008 23:50:39 EST The Buck Stops Here http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1264722 I know I've said this about 20 times already, but seriously, it really stops here. Obviously trying to eat in a weight loss calorie range is just not working for me. I'm not sure why, but it's not. I wish I could go back to the mindset I had this time last year, but for some reason this year it's much harder. And I end up justifying my nighttime eating by saying, "Oh well, it's probably still within my maintenance range." I calculated my maintenance range tonight on SP, and, well...guess ... Wed, 11 Jun 2008 21:12:53 EST Microwave Popcorn Shocker http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1256339 Geez, I had no idea there were almost 500 calories in a regular bag of microwave popcorn. Even the light has 400. I bought some today because it was on sale and I had a coupon, and I glanced at the nutrition facts...I saw how many cups popped each serving of 3 tbsp unpopped produces and thought, "Okay, 140 calories isn't so bad," but I didn't spot the fact that there are 9 tbsp unpopped in each bag! That's crazy! Looks like these will be saved for movie nights with the hubby...it sure was... Sat, 7 Jun 2008 23:52:18 EST C25K Week 1, Day 3: One Week Down http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1252736 I completed Week 1 of the Couch to 5K program this morning, and I feel really good about it. My heart rate seemed lower today during my running portions than it was on the first two days. I'll start week 2 on Sunday; hopefully it will go just as smoothly!

I'm doing a halfway decent job with the calorie cycling -- last night I admit I gave in to the ice cream and chocolate cake craving, but we'll just call that feeding Aunt Flo. And that was what she wanted. :P Today I had a lot... I went on a walk this morning with some other Sparkers from Louisville, so I've had plenty of exercise today. :) I find that by the end of my run, I'm actually feeling better and more energized than I was when I first started. It's weird, but I like it. I just took a shower, and now I feel good and refreshed, and ready to relax.

I'm starting calorie cycli... Sun, 1 Jun 2008 22:32:20 EST Swimsuit Bootcamp: After http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1240337 Well, I didn't see the changes I was hoping for with the Official SP Swimsuit Bootcamp, but I did at least see some results, which is better than nothing. I went swimsuit shopping today as my final challenge, and took pictures in the dressing room since I didn't find anything that really fit well enough to buy. I really liked the one in the picture, but the top wasn't quite big enough for my girls. :( Oh well. (Don't mind the weird brown splotches on the bottom...that mirror was really di... Sat, 31 May 2008 14:06:58 EST Countdown to C25K http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1239352 I start Couch to 5K training officially on Tuesday, and I'm excited! So much so that I've been dabbling in the Week 1 and 2 workouts, using them as cardio on some days for the Swimsuit Bootcamp. I enjoyed going for a jog/walk around the neighborhood last night, so I'm looking forward to doing that more often. I got some non-cotton socks to run in (6 pack at Meijer for $7 woohoo) and I have my spiffy new shoes (which are very pretty in addition to a perfect fit) and some new running clothes.... Fri, 30 May 2008 22:12:28 EST First Running Shoe Fitting http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1232541 I've always bought shoes based on having a lot of toe room and being a style I liked, so getting truly fitted for a pair of shoes was something that hadn't happened since I was probably 6 or 7 years old at Stride Rite. But since I'm starting the Couch to 5K program next week, I figured I ought to have a pair of good shoes. I went to Fleet Feet in Louisville and was helped out by a very nice young man who was quite knowledgeable. First, he measured my foot, and I ended up coming out to be a... Tue, 27 May 2008 16:37:30 EST The Blizzard strikes again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1227507 I've stayed out of Zesto's, now I need to stay away from Dairy Queen. :P I'm not even sure why I went over there. I wasn't even hungry, I just felt like I ought to be. So I stopped and got a Snickers Blizzard on my way to the gym of all places. Word to the wise: Blizzards are not a good workout meal. There was a bit of stomach discomfort on the treadmill. But, I digress. At least I repented for about 1/3 of my Blizzard with unscheduled cardio. But that doesn't make up for the rest of ... Sat, 24 May 2008 19:16:45 EST Bootcamp Check In - Week 3 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1222283 I haven't lost the weight I had hoped for during boot camp, but I do hope I am gaining some muscle. I'm not feeling the day after soreness anymore like I did the first week, but the workouts are still challenging. I know exactly why I'm not losing weight. I'm not gaining either, but for some reason I am too hungry to come up with a calorie deficit by the end of the day, even on a day packed with veggies. I am now keeping track of my weight, BMR, calorie burn, and calories consumed in a sp... Wed, 21 May 2008 21:26:22 EST Healthy eating is cheap eating http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1220102 I see a lot of posts on the message boards stating concern that eating healthfully is more expensive than eating junk. Personally, I don't think this is true. Sure, if you're trying to eat healthy fast food, it does tend to be more expensive than a greasy burger and fries. But if you're cooking at home, all it takes is a bit of planning ahead to make healthy eating cheaper than buying junk food.

Menu planning is crucial to saving money at the grocery store, no matter what you're... Tue, 20 May 2008 22:46:27 EST New Fitness Goal: Run an 8K http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1213947 Today I was finally inspired to set a new fitness goal for myself -- I hope I can achieve it. I'd like to run in the Crazy 8's 8K run in 2009. For someone who can't jog for more than a few minutes right now, that's a pretty tall order, but I think I can do it. I'll go get myself fitted for running shoes that are right for my feet, and start with the couch to 5K program, then work my way up from there. If I start the 5K training in July, hopefully I should be able to work my way up to 8K w... Sat, 17 May 2008 22:59:14 EST Gotta stop giving in http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1206446 I really have to stop giving in to my cravings and finding something else to do when they come. Tonight I went out at 9:30 to get Blizzards, then consumed almost 900 calories because I was craving a Snickers bar. I would have done better to have just gotten the Snickers bar for about 400. But the ice cream sounded soooo good. So I went. I have to stop this. Last night I resisted, but tonight I just couldn't, and I can't help but say that I am very disappointed with myself. So tonight, ... (I have noticed lately that my shoulders are looking nice and toned too.) I usually spend about 15-20 minutes after my cardio workout doing machines...I average 8-10 different machines per workout. I usually do the same ones, unless someone is on one I like, then I try something different. Well, it must be working, because today I had to buy new dumbbells for Coach Ni... Tue, 6 May 2008 14:16:55 EST Swimsuit Bootcamp: Before http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1186095 I don't own a two-piece that's not a size 14, so for now the size 8 black one-piece will have to do. ;) Maybe I'll make that my goal reward--a nice, new two-piece swimsuit. Sun, 4 May 2008 13:46:40 EST Meal plans, here I come! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1185059 I am trying the SP meal plans for the first time starting tomorrow. I've been a member here for nearly a year and a half, and I only did the meal plans for one day. I lost weight successfully creating my own meal plan, but now I'm struggling with sticking to my calorie schedule to lose weight. I'm maintaining just fine, but cutting out that little bit to lose a few more pounds is proving to be difficult. So, in asking for a little help, I'm letting the SP meal planner take over for a few ... Sun, 4 May 2008 00:03:04 EST Let's Try This Again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1176083 I don't really understand why it's been so difficult for me to get started and stay going with a diet plan to lose those last 5 or 10 pounds. I still have a lot of fat jiggle that I'd like to lose in my butt/thighs/upper arms, and I know it's there to lose, but for some reason I just can't make myself follow the caloric plan this time. I'm getting the exercise in, finally, but then I think I'm blowing it by eating more in maintenance mode than weight loss mode. So right now I'm trying to d... Tue, 29 Apr 2008 19:21:13 EST Eating Healthy While Flying: Why So Expensive? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1108397 After going through three different airports on four flights this weekend, I have to wonder why it's so expensive to eat healthily at the airport. The only places that seem to stock fruit and other such things are the ones who charge $7 for a cold sandwich. When you can't afford that, you don't have a choice but to go for the fast food options, whose prices aren't *too* far off from their "normal" prices.

Fruit is not *that* expensive. Mon, 31 Mar 2008 09:07:03 EST Lost a pound! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1060401 I finally lost another pound, down to 134! My other measurements are still the same, but I'm happy to have lost another pound. I've done a lot more cardio this week, thanks to joining a gym with my husband. Now I can finally get a really intense cardio workout again without killing my tailbone on the stationary bike. I think that probably helped a lot with jumpstarting my weight loss again.

It's also made me very, very hungry, so I decided to rework my calorie cycling schedule ... Fri, 7 Mar 2008 17:13:54 EST Makeover Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1046579 I went to the mall, as I usually do on Saturdays when James is working, and while I was buying my $5 clearance shirt at Macy's, I noticed a Clinique promotional card on the counter. You get two free gifts with a consultation. I'm a Clinique user anyway, and it had been a long time since I'd had a makeover at the counter, so I decided to go for it. They were really busy, so it took a while because my consultant was also trying to help other customers, but I honestly didn't mind...I was in n... Sat, 1 Mar 2008 16:56:14 EST Why is this so difficult now? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1039624 Last year, I had no problem eating within a 1200-1550 calorie range every day for 5 months. Now, for some reason, I absolutely cannot do it. Even at 1550 calories, I'm starving. I was exercising more at that time than I am now, so it makes no sense that I should be more hungry now than I was then. I've decided to try calorie cycling in hopes of jump starting my body back into weight loss mode, and these low calorie days are killer. Even sometimes the high ones leave me hungry! Yesterday... Wed, 27 Feb 2008 14:01:32 EST Phew...what a day... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=988531 So it started out fairly well this morning...slept in until 10, then got up and got ready and hubby and I went out to Applebees for an early lunch, since we had a gift card. We did our Aldi shopping, then came home, and as I was putting things away I discovered mouse droppings in the cabinet, along with a ton of flour and some half-eaten marshmallows. We had a mouse who has a thing for sugar and flour apparently. :P So we had to disinfect our cabinets and our canned goods today, and I had ... Tue, 5 Feb 2008 19:56:22 EST Am I finally motivated again? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=980534 This week, I finally managed to keep up with my regular exercise schedule! I burned over 600 calories, almost twice my weekly goal. I was going to just be lazy today except for my mall shopping, but I decided to take the dogs for a walk since it's nice outside and not too cold, and I'm very glad I did. I feel invigorated, and I didn't just sit and eat. (Plus, the dogs are tired out now so they're napping instead of jumping on me! Haha.)

I do need to do better with staying in my... Sat, 2 Feb 2008 18:16:45 EST Woo...a thirty minute workout! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=954925 I just finished a 30 minute workout on my exercise bike -- I'm so proud of myself! It's been a while since I managed to work out a full 30 minutes (well, except for the roller skating last weekend), because I just can't motivate myself. (That, and my bike kind of hurts my butt...I'm hoping I'll get used to it, but so far, no dice.) I dragged the bike into the living room (which was a workout in itself) so I could watch TV while I pedaled. I burned 250 calories, which is almost at my goal o... Thu, 24 Jan 2008 10:33:14 EST Who says it's expensive to eat healthy? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=935812 Since I was off today, my hubby and I decided to do our grocery shopping, after a lovely lunch at a Japanese restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised with the healthy composition of the meal as well as the reasonable portion sizes. It was a little on the expensive side for a lunch, but it was well worth it for a nice treat.

After that, we headed to Aldi to do a little grocery shopping. It was my first time in that store, and I can't believe we didn't start going there sooner! W... Thu, 17 Jan 2008 19:54:21 EST Finding Motivation http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=927523 Oh, how I wish I could go back to how I felt a year ago, when I was so motivated to exercise 5 days a week. Now I'm having trouble convincing myself to exercise even 3 days a week. I physically feel very tired, so that doesn't inspire me to want to work out, and I'm already bored with my exercise bike, DVD, and mini stepper. I want to find a way to motivate myself again, but I'm not sure what to do.

I am, however, doing better with staying in range with my eating. Yesterday, I ... Tue, 15 Jan 2008 12:11:08 EST An Early Resolution http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=855602 For the past two months, my job has taken up so much of my time that it's been so hard to eat healthy and exercise. When I come home, I'm so tired and my feet hurt, so I don't feel like getting on the exercise bike. It's cold outside so I can't just go for a walk anymore. At least my job is currently spent standing up most of the time, so that's a little better than sitting down, but I feel bad that I have gotten so far out of my exercise routine. And my eating hasn't been all that great ... Sun, 9 Dec 2007 16:04:07 EST
