I had a bad day Tuesday, was in a lot of pain from the osteoarthritis, and feeling kind of down. I felt like I was doomed to a life of pain, nothing I take seems to make it go away.

I had dinner at Applebees...it was awesome! But unfortunately it used up about 3 days worth of sodium and carb intake. The dinner I had was the shrimp combo platter with rice and steamed broccoli. The flavor was out of this world and I actually cleaned my... Thu, 6 Jun 2013 12:11:52 EST They Fit Again!! and other things http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5242057 Even though my weight has been up and down over the last week and a half, I have still not put back on all of what I've lost over the last month. Today I was being daring, and tried on a pair of jeans that I haven't been able to get into for over a year. THEY FIT!! I was so surprised! I could get them up without struggling, they zipped with no problem and the waist band was even a little loose. Didn't feel like I was being strangled, they were very comfortable!

It has also ... Thu, 7 Feb 2013 20:28:00 EST Finally Seeing Results http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5229305 I have been back on sparkpeople for a few weeks now, after not posting for several months. I have been keeping good tabs on what I eat, making sure I try to avoid high fat, sugar, carbs, etc. I weighed in this morning and discovered that I have lost 4 pounds over the last week and a half. I was starting to get discouraged, but this revelation has given me the encouragement to keep going. This makes me more intent on eating the right things so I can lose more.

The nutrition part... Tue, 29 Jan 2013 20:38:37 EST Bound and Determined..... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5211645 .....to succeed this time! 249

I've been away from Sparkpeople for a while. While I have tried to watch my diet and keep my glucose down to a manageable level, it just seems to be easier to keep myself in check if I have to log and record on a regular basis. Seeing my daily caloric intake stay within my goal ranges gives me a feeling of accomplishment. It also helps me think twice about having that extra piece of candy or bowl of ice cream when I could have a yogurt ... Thu, 17 Jan 2013 14:04:16 EST Benefits of Menopause http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4550678 To many women, menopause is a nuisance. But I have discovered it does have some benefits. For instance, hot flashes tend to put me in "the mood". My husband appreciates this!

The other benefit that I have discovered over the last few months is that night sweats can take off as much as 2 pounds over nite. This past weekend, for instance, I was feeling like the flu bug was after me, I was hot, had really bad aches in my joints and bones, and a headache that felt like a sledge ham... Mon, 24 Oct 2011 11:47:57 EST Getting Back On Track http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4296048 Last week I tried very hard to stay on track, didn't post everything I ate but I have it committed to memory and plan on getting it all on here when I get home from work.
We spent the weekend camping, and didn't really eat more or less than we normally do on a weekend, ok maybe a little less. We were busy doing things to our campsite and cleaning up the lot, and just didn't stop to eat all the time. We ate breakfast late, around 11am and didn't really eat lunch, just had an early dinn... Mon, 13 Jun 2011 14:47:34 EST Had A Good Scare Over The Weekend http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4280237 This past weekend we moved our camper onto the permanent spot at the campground/resort we belong to. We spent most of Saturday morning moving it and getting it situated, leveled, etc. Then took a break and a storm hit, leaving us without power for 12 hours. The rest of the day after the storm we were cleaning up the debris from leaves, branches etc. It cooled off a bit but the humidity didn't go down and with no air movement, it was very uncomfortable. We didn't do too much once it got d... Mon, 6 Jun 2011 10:10:48 EST Backwards progress requires a kick in the butt...literally! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4271948 Ok, so a holiday weekend got in the way of progress, at least for me. I didn't document anything over the weekend. Between the parties and other activities, there wasn't much time to get on the internet while at the campground. So the result of that is that I GAINED a pound. BIG KICK IN THE BUTT #1

My glucose readings have been higher than they should be...attrituted to imbibing in things that I normally would pass up, but what the hay, it was a holiday weekend. I know, no exc... Thu, 2 Jun 2011 08:46:27 EST This Week Has Been Unenventful....no losses but then again, no gains http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4259397 The first two weeks of weight control I lost 4 pounds. Today I weighed in and haven't lost but also haven't gained. I'm sure I lost a little during the beginning of the week but have put it back on somehow. There were a few days where I went over my calorie limit, but also a day or two where I was under, so I guess it's a push-me-pull-you situation. I'll deal with it.

This weekend is going to be a challenge. Three days at camp, parties every night, dances every night and a lot... Fri, 27 May 2011 09:36:32 EST That Explains It..... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4245808 I have been trying to figure out why my glucose readings have been so high today, and it just dawned on me that I never took my meds this morning. Haven't done this very often, and after I thought about it, I was getting ready to get them out when my oatmeal started boiling over. I had to turn off the microwave, clean the mess up, and totally forgot about taking my meds.

Only when my numbers weren't where they should be, and I could feel the acid reflux coming up, did I realize... Fri, 20 May 2011 16:16:23 EST Entering Week 3 - Routines Make It Easy! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4245000 Today is the start of week three of my anti-insulin plan. So far I have good results. There were a few days where I slipped and had to partake of something I shouldn't have, and really noticed the difference.

This moment of weakness was on the ride home from camp last Sunday. It was close to 2:30 and we had breakfast around 10 so it was time for lunch. Problem was, not much to choose from on the road so we pulled into a McDonalds. Mind you, this was the first time I had eat... Fri, 20 May 2011 09:31:40 EST So Far So Good, two weeks and 4 pounds later! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4243129 I had every intention of doing a daily blog but that didn't happen.
Ending the second week of my weight and glucose control plan and seeing some amazing results. Glucose readings have gone down immensely from what they were, and this I can attribute to a drastic change in my diet. Weight has gone down 4 pounds, and I can fit into my size 18 jeans again...without laying on the bed to zip them up!!! That in itself is a big achievement!

There are some new pictures in my galler... Thu, 19 May 2011 11:09:04 EST Anti-Insulin Day 7 & 8 May 12/13, 2011 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4230434 Learned the hard way not to eat Chinese food anymore. Hubby talked me into having it last night, and this morning I woke up with a horrible stomach ache. Had to be the Chinese, shrimp fried rice and sweet & sour shrimp (minus the s&w sauce) seemed harmless enough but I think my body might be getting used to not consuming as much as in the past and I just upset the normal scheme of things. I just hope I don't put back the 2 pounds I just lost!

This afternoon I had cottage cheese,... Fri, 13 May 2011 13:54:24 EST Anti-Insulin Plan Day 6 May 11, 2011 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4224918 24 Having a lot of pain today, all joints are throbbing. We have some storms coming in so that is probably what is causing it. Took two Tylenol extra strength, now waiting for them to kick in. I really need a hottub and/or massage, but that won't happen here at work LOL

Wed, 11 May 2011 08:46:01 EST Anti-Insulin Plan - Day 5 May 10, 2011 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4223348 So far so good. Keeping myself under 1500 calories a day, even though the doc wants me to stay under 1300. Tried that over the weekend and it made me too weak. I'll slowly work myself down to that but have to do it one step at a time.

Glucose numbers are a bit erratic, but seem to be stabilizing now. They are much better than they have been so that is a good thing.

Well, back to work! Tue, 10 May 2011 14:42:50 EST Anti-Insulin Plan - Day 4 May 9, 2011 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4220298 I lost one pound!!!

Even with the pizza I had last night at my mom's and the piece of pound cake with strawberries, I still lost one pound.

I wonder if I would have lost more had I not had what I did over the weekend? Only time will tell. I will see on Friday if sticking to my diet will work out. The weekends are difficult to remain true since we are camping and tend to party a bit. Already had our showers and did the internet surfing thing, but stomach is telling me it's time for breakfast.

Plan on leaving about noon to get to Mom's for Mother's Day and her birthday.

I did go over my planned calories yesterday, but it was the personal size Home Run Inn pizza that we made before going up to the clubhouse for the dance. I knew I wo... Might have gone over my 1300 calorie goal, but then what’s a good pool game without a few beers? I only had 3, light, 64 calories each, so that isn’t TOO bad! Tonight I plan on doing a lot of dancing to burn off the calories, and will allow myself one or two Seagram’s & Diet Coke cocktails. Seagram’s 7 is 97 calories for 1.5 oz, and I barely use one ounce in a 16 ounce glass of diet ... Sat, 7 May 2011 17:13:30 EST
