I'll always be good money for some chiropractor with that deformed vertebrate. So I see my chiropractor regularly, I know how to roll and stretch my neck and shoulder I think pretty well, but it hurts.

It's ramped up to me icing a couple... Tue, 31 Jul 2012 22:06:52 EST Planning this weight loss thing http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4993880 Okay, I don't get to just crash and lose a bunch a lot of weight fast. Because I'm having too much fun doing this athlete thing now. That makes the approach different. I need to fuel for my physical exertions and not to pull too many calories out so I don't bonk and I also don't want to lose muscle mass.

Ideally I'd lose this during my off-season, but you know if I can pull some pounds off now, that will improve my season currently. Just gotta go gentle on it.

Goal: Los... Good!

Bike pace, don't really have something to compare to, so good!

Run; well, could have gone faster for sure, so time to figure out how to be an athlete who lose... Mon, 30 Jul 2012 10:54:06 EST 2nd Triathlon Report http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4992299 I did my 2nd sprint triathlon yesterday. First one was a year ago June. Yesterday was a sprint course which means 800m swim, 14 mile bike ride, and a 5K. I've had a series of shorter distances in the last couple months which set me up really well for yesterday. I've been doing a swim/run event monthly over the summer (and good grief, the last one is this Thursday, so I'd better get my wetsuit soaking and then drying to be ready for its next adventure); that's been great for getting me really ... Sun, 29 Jul 2012 22:06:56 EST New Spark Trophy in Sight! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4988112 Less than 900 points until my next Spark Trophy. No idea why I am excited about it, but I am. This is my present one.

This will be my new one.

My present one is much more impressive to me. And the next one I'll have for about a year I figure because it's for 20,000 points. That's assuming I get 55 points every day for the next year. At th... Thu, 26 Jul 2012 16:19:14 EST Sparking 4 Years Today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4985119 "I really enjoyed hanging out with you- you are simply glowing with life!" That was part of an email from a friend today. Lovely timing since today marks 4 years into my Spark journey.

My life is radically different from 4 years ago. Back then I was just learning how to be a physically active person. Walking around the block counted as exercise.

<img src="http://photos-ak.sparkpeople.com/nw/2/5/l257... Tue, 24 Jul 2012 16:39:37 EST Thinking about my 2013 Racing Goals http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4983851 It takes my brain awhile to figure out what I want, so I've started noodling on what races/events I want to join in for 2013. Downside of starting now is most races aren't officially public for their 2013 dates, so I'm just having to make guesses based on which weekend they fell in a month this year.

Currently, the plan:
Half marathon late January/early February
Considering joining in the Wildflower triathlon, maybe as a relay, early May
a sprint triathlon late May ... Mon, 23 Jul 2012 20:27:05 EST Training is Making Me Faster! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4982502 I'm at a pretty cool place physically right now. My body is suddenly capable of going faster for longer times than it used to be able to do.

I ran a 5K at under 10 minute/mile pace (after a 1500m swim) earlier this month, and yesterday I had my fastest open water swim pace 00:02:42/100 yd -- slow per a lot of people, but I'm comparing me to me, not to the speedies around me.

Honestly yesterday was such an impressive day in a number of ways. The race was about 25 miles fr... Tue, 17 Jul 2012 19:48:15 EST My Fastest 3 Mile Ever! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4973174 Saturday I rode my bike 18 miles and ran a 5K afterwards. My fastest 5K with me staying under 10:30 min/mile the whole way.

Today I did an easier shorter ride, only a little over 10 miles, and again I followed up with the same 5K distance run. Since Saturday's run had gone so well, I wanted to just push myself the whole time to see what pace I could achieve today. At mile one my Iphone told me I was at a 9:50 pace! That definitely motivated me to keep pushing hard for the rest of t... Mon, 16 Jul 2012 16:49:58 EST
