So yeah, this is new. I am trying to comment on someone's blog and the site won't allow me to and keeps asking me to remove any cursing. I haven't curse and I, for the life of me, can't figure out what's wrong or what word might be prompting it. Does anyone have any clues or suggestions....are there any typical "innocent" words or characters that kick warning into effect? I wish it would at least highlight for me the problematic word(s)! Fri, 14 Nov 2014 13:20:13 EST Time to pay the piper http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5815647 Thanks for the warm welcome yesterday. It was very touching and made me feel back "home" again.

I reset my weight tracker and added some updated photos. Accountability, yadda yadda. I tell you what. Tue, 11 Nov 2014 16:00:52 EST Ups and downs http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5594611 Well, today is the first day of my classes. I finally received the syllabus for one of them and it looks completely do-able. Not too bad. Just have to wait and see how the other one shapes up.

I had a rough start to the morning which has had me down. I got mad and yelled at my daughter because I caught her lying to me. I've gained back some weight, but so what. I'm back on track again and eager to see how this year pans out for me. I have a friend's wedding at the end of May and a cruise in July so I have some firm mini-goals/deadlines for weight loss already.

After being off exercise due to my leg, I decided to re-start the C25K program to slowly build back up my... Wed, 4 Dec 2013 09:54:45 EST Craziness http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5546974 So I haven’t blogged in what feels like forever! Things have been nutty…or at least it feels as though it’s been nutty. When I try to think about what actually has been going on, it seems like most of the crazy has been in my mind.

First off, things at home have been ok. My daughter’s schedule since starting middle school has been way hectic. She wants to be involved in so much but it requires her to be at school early and late most days of the week so it’s been ver... Thu, 21 Nov 2013 13:20:03 EST Small hiatus http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5533344 I am taking a small break from Spark. I have a bad situation going on with some family members so won't be around for maybe a week or two. Don't worry, I'll be back! Just want to let people know so they don't think the worst! Thanks for all the support you guys give to me! You can't keep me from this place for too long. Isn't that crazy?

I had a friend come and check my scale to verify that it was still working this morning. I have noticed a steady decline over the course of the week but this morning alone was a whole 2 lb drop from yesterday. 5lbs of fat loss in a week is impossible, let's just face it.

First off, I have been eating pristinely. I have kept intake at 1300 cals/day. My water intake has been good. I've eaten a ton of veggies this week and one... Apparently I have a "stress reaction" that luckily has not evolved into a fracture. This was explained to me as a fluid overload in my tibia. The doc said my body "is trying to break the bone." I'm not sure if that's how I'd phrase it but that's what she said. She said I didn't have to have crutches but that I need "to completely shut down." She said the only exercise I was allowed to do... Wed, 16 Oct 2013 11:21:59 EST Ready to get back in the saddle http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5510635 I have felt so very "blah" these last few weeks. Once the 5% challenge was over, I also found myself less motivated. Pair that with dealing with this leg thing, I have not felt the drive to put forth any effort. In retrospect, I think that if I could have just hung in there, I might be down another 5-10 pounds. But whatever. I needed a break. The pitfall of that is the current struggle to regain my gung ho attitude.

The new Fall %5 Challenge starts on Saturday so now I will h... Wow.

Well, things are in a weird flux for me. Since school is now in swing for both my daughter and I, my exercise schedule has gone very irregular. Fortunately, I've still been able to swing about 3 sessions at the Y a week, and then I've tried to supplement at home, either by running outside or doing a exercise vid. Mon, 9 Sep 2013 21:30:09 EST A hard week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5471224 This has been a hard week. For myself, and also for others here on Spark. Apparently something is in the air...or maybe it's a testament to how all beings are connected. There are some days, or some weeks, on this journey to self improvement that you just feel like you've hit a wall, either with the diet, with the exercise, with maintaining a positive attitude, or with just plain hanging in there in general. It would waste time going into details of the hows and whys. Suffice it to say ... Here I am on the third day of this program and its luster has started to wear away. Last night I was hungrier than the night before but it was still manageable. As long as I could distract myself, I was fine. I woke up this morning, with not as much energy as yesterday, but still not bad. Thu, 11 Jul 2013 12:38:03 EST DAY 1 of juice cleanse (the start) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5416608 Last night, I ate a "transition meal" of all veggies for dinner and that is it for solid food for me until Saturday. The Juicery folks said it's better to eat a salad or steamed veggies for your last meal than it is to prepare for a fast by loading up on all the stuff you think you're going to miss out on during the 3 days. That was perfectly reasonable to me.

We had oven roasted carrots, broccoli, and turnips, as well as some sauteed cabbage that was great, and sliced tomatoes. ... Mon, 8 Jul 2013 09:26:01 EST Hiking-Quail Hollow at Shaker Village http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5401401 So I thought I'd document my hike on Saturday. In reviewing these photos, it looks like a very mild, picturesque, and enjoyable hike. Don't be fooled. I'm not being dramatic when I tell you that there have been times in my hiking history when I've been lost. There have been other times, well, only one time, actually, when I had the realization that I might actually die. This hike incorporated both of these ideas. I got lost. I thought I might die. She sees how I love going to my exercise classes. I've asked her before if she wanted to accompnay me and she always has said no. I mentioned to her that one of the songs we do is a song she really likes so she started getting curious and asking me after each class how it was, what... Thu, 6 Jun 2013 09:28:40 EST Regarding earlier blog http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5379292 My meeting finished an HOUR earlier than expected. So hooray for that! That makes me happy. It went well, I did NOT eat the food, and I feel better because of it.

I am going to share a few thoughts here, while I enjoy my spinach, kefir, blueberry and flax seed smoothie.

I deleted my earlier, self-professed rant blog because I received some comments from a few people that I let overshadow the more positive and supportive comments and resulted in me feeling increasing... Wed, 5 Jun 2013 15:00:05 EST overdue accounting for http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5373598 OK, so I am finally ready to spill the beans about Memorial Day weekend.

I was bad. So bad. And I didn't care...well, that's not true. I did care, but not enough to beat myself up.

I had such good intentions heading into the weekend. Before I left for Atlanta, I scoped out the nearest YMCA to my friends' house. If you are a member locally, you can usually go to other locations not in your state and they will honor your membership. I called the Atlanta location u... Fri, 31 May 2013 11:47:12 EST Progress Report http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5364350 I've been laying low, trying to stay the course.

I weighed myself this morning and noted a loss but I am afraid to plug it into Spark people for fear of jinxing it and that I'll just fluctuate back up and have to plug in a higher weight on Friday, when I have to submit my weight to the 5% Challenge. I've been fluctuating a lot. I think will wait until Friday and just record then.

This week I had the realization of how very much I NEED and rely on exercise for the pur... Wed, 22 May 2013 09:17:59 EST blah--motivation is suffering http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5359339 Feeling kind of ambivalent right now. I haven't been participating on SP much this week. Part of the reason has been work. It's been extremely hectic and then I don't want to get online once I arrive home for the evening.

I started off the week positive, despite having felt ill over the weekend. I picked right back up into my routine. However, over the course of this week my weight has increased by 4 pounds...what in the world?!?! I am honestly, genuinely perplexed by this. ... Fri, 17 May 2013 13:03:57 EST Great googley moogley http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5356144 It seems as though, toward the end of last week, I had all kinds of things I was saving up for my blog post this week. Somehow they all got lost in the haze of whatever bug or food poisoning that took hold at about 1am Saturday morning. Good lord, it’s been a really long time since I’ve been that violently ill. I’m pretty sure at one point I experienced interdimensional travel via heaving.

So glad that’s over but my system still doesn’t feel quite right. Things aren’t digesting...
