I really need to learn how to do double unders! The upside is 600+ calories burned according to my fitness watch. There is no way I wasn't going to finish that workout. I was the only one in the class who didn't know how to do double unders, so I was the only one going through burpee hell. I am not going to listen to the little negative voice in my head telling me how overweight I am or how I am so much older than everyone else at this... Wed, 5 Dec 2012 12:47:34 EST happy thanksgiving!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5143553 This year I am pretracking my food. I may not know all of the calories but I am giving it my best guess. I am sticking to my ranges and having pumpkin pie! Thu, 22 Nov 2012 14:54:36 EST two months in http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5139331 Well... two months in and 7 pounds gone. More importantly, I added exercise to the mix two weeks ago. No weight loss for the last ten days. That fact is hard to take. The exercise added includes lots of strength training. I know the scale is not supposed to be the only measure, but I'm working so hard!!! My jeans are looser. My face looks thinner. I am getting stronger. I will continue to perservere. The tipping point will come, and the pounds will be shed. Inches come off so slowly. Scale n... Sun, 18 Nov 2012 13:05:49 EST REALLY late lunch http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5103988 Right now, all I want to do is eat. My normal breakfast time is 6am. That's ok. BUT today I had to drive my parents to the airport which left me eating lunch around 2pm. I had a big salad with lean chicken and no dressing, also ok. The problem comes from waiting 8 hrs to eat. All my body is telling me is that I need to keep eating because I must be starving myself. Food must not be readily available if I have to wait that long between meals! Strategy: Drink water and distract myself until di... Thu, 18 Oct 2012 16:32:37 EST First five gone! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5101883 I weighed myself this morning with no expectations, and woohoo! first five gone! I couldn't be happier! Tue, 16 Oct 2012 22:00:10 EST three weeks, three days http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5098653 Feeling good and eating right. I'm going to do the crossfit ramp up and join a crossfit gym the first week of November. I should probably get a few workouts in before then. Need to get the exercise thing going again. Sun, 14 Oct 2012 13:37:12 EST Well deserved date night http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5097094 Went to dinner and the movies with my husband. I logged everything in and was less than 100 calories over for the day! I felt really good about that because most days I'm under the max calories for the day. Seven psycopaths was really funny. Fri, 12 Oct 2012 23:53:48 EST steady now ... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5094528 Well I weighed my self after week three of weighing everything, measuring everything, and sticking within the sp parameters and lost 0 pounds. In the past, I would eat, but today I did not. Winner, winner had grilled, skinless chicken breast for dinner!!!! I will not view this as a set back. My body is just rebelling a little. It will come around, and I will remain vigillant and persist in all efforts. My face looks thinner, and I feel good. Nuff said. Wed, 10 Oct 2012 21:11:55 EST Eureeka!!! I figured out how to kill the night time snacking! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5093102 Tracking food is magic! I noticed that on some days I was hungry and wanted to snack at night and on other days, I barely took in the minimum calories, but I wasn't hungry at night. Yesss! There is a trend for me. If I stacked my carbs in the morning and decreased them throughout the day in each meal and did the opposite with protien, No hunger at night! Each meal has a mix of carbs protein and fat with more carbs in the am than pm and more protein in the pm than am. There are a lot of ways ... Tue, 9 Oct 2012 19:25:12 EST Recovery day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5091952 This past weekend was exhausting!! Tough workout Friday evening, followed by a weekend of physical work at the hospital, capped by a 12 hour shift on Sunday. Today I recover by running the kids to all of their activities. I made time this morning to plan my meals and even found time to take a nap to help recover the sore muscles. Some how (don't ask me how this happened), I'm under my calorie goal! Not by much but I get a bonus cheese stick snack while I unwind with Monday night football! Wo... Mon, 8 Oct 2012 22:04:26 EST 12 hour shift http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5090586 Very tired today .. long shift on a very busy unit. I am soo tired, but I'm not going to let the I feel tired munching to start. Sun, 7 Oct 2012 22:22:00 EST Crossfit Rocks! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5088368 Today I went to the crossfit gym my husband joined as a friends and family participant. I went Monday, but it was an atypical workout. I learned how to clean and jerk and burned a lot of calories on Monday which was fun. Be aware though that I said all the way to the gym that I wasn't going to pick up a weight bar. Todays workout was brutal!! I made sure to increase my protein intake for muscle repair, and I actually feel good. I'm a little sore here and there, but again I burned over 500 cal... Fri, 5 Oct 2012 21:29:43 EST Rollercoaster of a day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5087127 Technology has not been working for me today. I spent a frustrating day at the computer with web sites working against me and my computer locking up. At least SP is working! Stress drives me to eat. Today I did a couple of things to combat the urge. First I stopped before I ate anything and planned my meals. Then, I had a snack of carrots which I counted and tracked and hummus in a portioned 2 oz pack. A few hours later, I was still hungry. Fortunately, it was almost dinner time. I put the... Thu, 4 Oct 2012 21:45:08 EST 2 weeks = habit? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5086389 Two weeks in and 3.2 pound lighter, I attribute the success to avoiding the dreaded night time munchies. In the past, I would snack at night. After much thought and analysis, I noticed that I wasn't really hungry, I was tired. I admit that I don't get enough sleep and have been trying to get more of those elusive ZZZ's. When I'm drawn to the pantry, I think about my energy level. If it's during the day, I'll drink water and reevaluate, or find something to keep me busy or get something done ... Thu, 4 Oct 2012 10:17:19 EST strategy http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5085973 I feel like eating right now. Fatigue is a trigger. I will conquer this!!! I'm going to bed instead of eating. It's late and I don't get enough sleep anyway. <em>41</em> Wed, 3 Oct 2012 23:59:39 EST Fitness fun? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5083846 Soooo .. yesterday I finally gave in and went to a free session at crossfit fire with my husband. He has been going faithfully for months now with great results. I never thought it would be for me because they lift weights and do gymnastics type moves and "I don't lift weights". The entire drive there my husband and I discussed what the workout might be. We figured it would be something simple in order to be friends and family friendly, right? Wrong! It was an olympic style lifting move cal... Tue, 2 Oct 2012 13:37:49 EST turn around http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5081235 Today was a better day. I decided to have a half cup of oberweis ice cream instead of my yogurt and granola snack after dinner. Right move!!! I no longer feel deprived, and I am still within my calories and other nutrition goals for the day. Still losing weight and feeling good from eating quality calories. Sun, 30 Sep 2012 21:41:00 EST first ten days http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5079733 Arrrghh! I am so hungry! A friend was diagnosed with pre-diabetes and told to drop to 1200 calories per day to lose weight. I said I would try to hold to 1500 calories per day in solidarity. I also decided those calories had to be sugar free and low carb. What was I thinking!!! Ten days in and I'm 2.5 pounds lighter, but very hungry. My food choices are high quality, nutritious food, but not high volume. I may need to rethink that one. Sat, 29 Sep 2012 16:09:31 EST
