Tue, 5 Jun 2012 22:21:14 EST 12 weeks down ~ Non-scale victories... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4910089 I did it! Made it through 12-weeks of sparking, LiveFit and more. This blog entry is dedicated to the non-scale victories. The numbers are to follow and although I am happy with them, these far outweigh them for me. My heart is full thinking of the changes that have occurred in only 3 months. <BR> <BR> I started SP at a difficult time in my life, both emotionally and physically. The body was turning on itself, went to the doctor, was okay, but needed to make changes. Came home and it hit me... Sun, 3 Jun 2012 14:26:41 EST Mother's Day Reflections... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4879373 Mom has been on my mind even more than usual lately. I realized a couple of weeks ago that, at the end of the month, it will be 20 years since my mom passed away in a automobile accident. Although not a day goes by that I don’t think about her, lately I have been bombarded by thoughts of her, really since starting this journey on SP. Usually it is the holidays, like Mother’s Day where I can’t push it aside. Whether it is in the Hallmark store with the boyfriend picking out cards for his mom... Today was a rotten day for me. Walked in the house tonight and said "I am pissy today" I was irritated all day. Nothing went right and was in a downward spiral. Didn't want to eat all the dang food, but did. Didn¡¦t want to work out, let alone do shoulders which I am a weakling at. Bad rotator cuff, joints that pop out of socket a... It was tough tonight. I did lower weights, but they were pretty much ending at failure anyways. I love biceps, but triceps is another story. Am finding it is evident in my arms. I need to work them harder. Ended up staying with the same weights for the whole workout. Felt good to not shift back and forth so much. Today was a “let’s get through it” day. I miss t... I am frustrated with my metal ankle. Feel like I could go up in weight, but just can’t risk it. I can’t do much with walking moves and weight. It hurts and am finding the barbell is a little difficult with my balance. I am okay if I am stationary, but not when I move. Not sure that will change with the limitations of it. May have to stick with dumbbells where I have more control. Needless to say calf raises are a no with weight. I ... Tue, 10 Apr 2012 22:06:30 EST Dear Diet Pop, We need to see other people… http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4820694 My love affair with pop (pronounced PAHHHP in these parts) started young. My need for the bottle started much younger. Mom said I always had a bottle hanging out of my mouth. Empty or full, didn’t matter, I just NEEDED it. There is a picture of me around here somewhere as a chubby toddler (should say fat), stuffed into white tights, grinning from ear to ear, with a bottle hanging out of my mouth. <BR> <BR> I believe it was around the summer after 5th grade when I discovered diet pop, spec... Wed, 4 Apr 2012 18:13:22 EST The difference a day makes... (a long-winded, first blog) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4819037 I have wanted to start blogging. Thing is, I have been waiting for….the great AHA moment, clever, humorous anecdotes, something inspirational, clear thought, strong writing skills… The list goes on and on. What I’m figuring out is that the waiting list may never come to fruition. Why? Because it isn’t me. I’m scattered, haven’t figured it out and definitely haven’t had some major epiphany. I do know I have been struggling with this crap for longer than I can remember. This might just help:)... Tue, 3 Apr 2012 18:38:43 EST
