Wed, 9 Feb 2011 17:26:26 EST Accountability, Accountability, Accountability..... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3984847 So we are now in week 5 of BLC#15 and this week it is all about accountability. This fits right into what I have been trying to do so I am psyched. My accountability with my former dragon team mate Nan has been working great. I did not have any soda pop during the work week last week and I am off to a good start for this week 104

I still need some accountability in the exercise department. When reviewing my last blog, I realized I missed 3 days of exercise. It has been h... Wed, 2 Feb 2011 18:25:45 EST Even baby steps make for good progress.... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3963728 I did not have perfect week but I did take some baby steps. It seems those baby steps are leading more towards progress on the scale.

I have a pesky dragon ( I say this with 26 Nan) who is helping me keep accountable with my soda pop consumption. I really owe her. She checks in with me and/or I have to post to my status. Therefore, there has been a drastic reduction in my pop consumption over the week 334 I was also more consistent with my exercise. I still did... Wed, 26 Jan 2011 18:24:56 EST I'm Still Trying..... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3944632 Well last week was not perfect. I did not get in as much exercise as I wanted. Although if I am being honest, I probably exercised the amount that my body could handle. The legs are still tight from running Goofy. I am trying hard to just listen to my body about whether it feels good enough to exercise. I also did eat nearly as well as I wanted. I was not perfect but I am still trying.

I noticed some trends in my eating. I am now often going back for second portions which I never ... For me though this first week was a whirlwind. As most of you know, I did the Goofy Race and Half Challenge this weekend in Orlando. We actually left the first day of the competition. We were told we could rent a modem at the condo for the week but when we checked in, they were all out of modems....WHAT 38 How could they not have enough modems?

Anyway, between the races, no internet, vacation, etc it made staying on track tha... I have been making excuses for overeating for the last 6 months.

I am frustrated but more than that, I am disappointed in myself 39 . I knew I was gaining weight and I made a promise to myself that no matter what, I would take the weight off by the time I went to Orland to participate in the Goofy Challenge. Not only have I not lost the weight, I have put on additional weight 15 .

I KNOW I am exhausted. ... I know this will have consequences when it comes to weighing in on Wednesday for the BLC. I have been doing really well since I started blogging my weekly plans. In fact, we have had a challenge in our BLC#13 competition this week to stay off the scale. When I get on tomorrow, I am HOPING for a gain 15 Yes, you heard me right....I am hoping for a gain. I don't want the false security that I feel like I have had over the last few weeks with a loss on the scale. I KNOW I am overeating. I KNOW it is going to catch up with me. As most of you know my work has been crazy and it was uncertain as to whether or not I was going to be getting the day off before my marathon. Well I did. So we left bright and early Friday morning and headed for Champaigne Illinois.

I should first start by explaining that for whatever reason, when I registered I did not book my hotel. Sun, 2 May 2010 19:28:10 EST Marathon week is finally here...... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3158069 So I have been a little complacent for the last two weeks and really have not blogged about my weekly plan. Overall I have been doing okay and still continued to track my food everyday but one. This is an important week for me. This is marathon week. So for that reason, I need to be disciplined.

Here is my plan for the week. Just for fun I will also update the weather forecast for race day with each new day. Lets see if out of all the predictions, the meteorologist can get it right... I am saddened to say that today is the official end to BLC#12. I have accomplished more than I wanted. I did a little more ST than I have in the past, although I have a long way to go. My goal was to lose 10 pounds and I officially lost 10.8 244 . I think I was really struggling with my running and now I feel like I am hitting my stride. All of this makes me extremely excited for the next round.

THANK YOU TO ALL MY SISTER SPIES <em... I am sure there is no easy solution.

I am committing to keeping a weekly plan, even if I don't follow it precisely. There have been lots of social events and several opportunities to eat 480 which I just can't seem to show any will power against. However, I have continued to lose weight. I know I cannot continue this pattern and still expect to lose but I do think I have found the key to what might be helping me.....TRACKING!

In the past, I have often decided not to track my food on a cheat day. Wed, 17 Mar 2010 20:16:56 EST Another week, Another plan...... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2984282 So it is a new week for BLC#12. Last week was a big challenge for me and unfortunately I did not follow my revised plan. I completely overate. However, nobody puts it better than my sister spy Yolanda who says "if you eat it, negate it." I had 3 really bad days of eating. I tracked my food and was able to see how much I needed to burn off to hopefully break even. I have spent the last three days, restricting my calories (don't worry, I still consumed over the recommended 1200) and working out... Wed, 10 Mar 2010 19:56:46 EST A slight revision and I hope it is okay...... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2955126 So this week will be a little more challenging for me. Starting this week, my marathon training is really ramping up. During the month of March I will be doing a 16, 18 and 20 mile long run.

There are also several social events on my calendar. I am organizing a luncheon for a co-worker who is leaving on Friday. On Sunday, I am taking my nieces out to brunch followed by the broadway show 101 dalmatians. This is really hard for me. I have really tried to teach myself to take each pound as it comes and to not get caught up in looking too far into the future with regards to my weight loss.

If I were to lose #15 pounds from my BLC #12 starting weight, I would be at my lowest weight since college. I can't believe we are almost a 1/3 of the way through this journey. Although I didn't lose any weight this week, I have other noticeable changes taking place. Now don't get me wrong, it is frustrating. I have been eating in my range, exercising almost daily and still nothing. I can't focus on that. Instead I am choosing to focus on the other positive changes that I am seeing.

When I started the competition, I would have to say that I was... Wed, 3 Feb 2010 18:22:26 EST The Power of the Spies.... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2806207 So we are now starting week 3 of BLC #12 and I must say that I am no longer feeling sorry for myself. It is not just because I had a successful weigh in this week. I know that success measured by the scale can be short lived. The change in attitude is related to "the power of the spies."

My team is made up of 25 great women. Each of us are different but we are all trying to reach the same goals. After coming back from my marathon and a nice long vacation, I wasn't completely shocked when the scale said that my weight was up 10lbs. There were other changes as well. My skin was beginning to break out again (I attribute this to my poor dietary choices and my neglect in taking my daily vitamins).

I followed the plan that I laid out in my blog last week, with the exception of one day. All the heartache and pain of trying to get this eating this under control.

This morning when I weighed in, I was outside of my 5 lb comfort range that I was allowing myself. I am back up over 130. How did I let this happen? I have actually gained about 6 lbs since my marathon. In reality I know how it happened....inconsistent exercise and eating.

I am hopeful as I start training for a fall marathon tomorrow howev... All the news stations were wrapping things up but there were a few little blurbs about the slick roads. I then went outside. The sidewalk was not as bad as I expected. I could tell there was a thin layer of ice over the snow as I crunched along. I inspected my car and it was covered in ice. I turned around and walked back inside.

I am explainin... Sat, 10 Jan 2009 13:27:02 EST Busy in January http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1651645 Well January is starting off a busy month. My work is actually slowly down but my fitness minutes should be reaching an all time high for me this month.

In December I joined MIT (marathon in training). I have had four weeks now with my group doing Saturday morning runs. I am also responsible for doing individual runs or cross training throughout the week. For the month of January, I am to log 150 miles. Just thinking about all those miles is exhausting. We are not even one week i... Sun, 4 Jan 2009 10:34:42 EST MIT http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1609248 I joined MIT (marathon in training) this morning. I never would have pictured me doing a marathon when I started running 8 months ago but here I am. I feel like it is the next logical step for me in this incredible journey that SPARK is leading me on.

The day started with an information session which outlined the program. We then put ourselves into pace groups. This was a little tough for me because my running pace varies between short and long distances. I decided to try and go w... On Sunday October 19, 2008 I ran (okay jogged) my first half marathon.
The weather was freezing . 32 degrees to be exact at the start and unfortunately not much better at the finish line. I had never run in the cold as I much prefer to run inside on the treadmill.
Ipod players are prohibited even though I saw several people wearing them. I ALWAYS wear my ipod when I run so this made it a little harder as I didn't have my favorite songs pushing me on.
I had a sm... Thu, 23 Oct 2008 19:22:19 EST
