Been busy unpacking, laundry, laundry, and more laundry as well as sorting through mail and making out bills!!! Hate that job!! Put on 4,500 - 5,000 miles by the time we return home!! Can't wait!! I'm tired of motel living, restaurant food etc etc etc. I'm missing not being on SP much since we've been gone. Almost afraid to get on the scale - - no, I AM afraid to get on the scale!! Should be back on board the beginning of the week!!

Judy Fri, 19 Jul 2013 23:14:32 EST QUICK SUPPER http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5378155 Dealing with injured ribs this week so tonight for supper we're having a portion controlled chicken patty on a whole wheat bun with a slice of FF cheese and DeJon creamy mustard (zero calories) and a side salad with added raisins and a glass of milk. Been feeling tired for the last 3-4 days since injuring my ribs so I'm making this a simple supper. Sounds like a winner to me!! Tue, 4 Jun 2013 16:07:23 EST Joined the Spark Solution!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5364634 I decided to start The Spark Solution because I was at such a stand still with my weight. It had seemed like no matter what or how I ate, the weight was going no where. Since starting The Spark Solution, I have been more active (not so much sitting on my rump), lost 1.6#, feel slimmer etc. I have been making healthy breakfasts and loving them. I'm not eating raw spinach which I wouldn't normally do, ok - rarely did , ok - - did only once before!!! I eat it almost everyday now with my egg beat... Sun, 24 Mar 2013 23:51:51 EST UPDATE ON SHOULDER http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5228063 Been having physical therapy (PT) 3 times a week since the end of December. Friday they over stretched my shoulder(went from 140 degree ROM to 160 ROM from Wed to Fri) and I have been in lots of pain since. Went to PT today and there was a huge knot next to and going under my shoulder blade on the surgical shoulder. After examining me they massaged the muscle at my shoulder blade after hot packs and mild stretching and had to follow the muscle partially under my shoulder blade to get it a... Mon, 28 Jan 2013 23:58:50 EST SHOULDER UPDATE - January 14, 2013 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5207039 It's been a while since I've done an update. Shoulder surgery was on the 20th of December. The damage to my shoulder was much worse than the MRI or surgeon had shown/suspected it would be. There was a lot of damage to the rotator cuff area itself. On the 22nd of December I undid part of the repair work. I've since started physical therapy (PT) also known as pain and torture!! PT has been quite painful - more so than the surgery itself I think. It's a slower process than usual accordi... Mon, 14 Jan 2013 16:21:27 EST SURGERY http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5171751 My shoulder surgery day has finally arrived. I have to be at the hospital at 7:30 a.m. I will be leaving here in about 20 minutes for the trip to Harlingen Medical. Don't know how long it will be before I get back on-line but when I do, I'm sure I will probably only be typing with one hand for a little while. Will check in when I can.

In the meantime, be sure to do you nutrition/fitness tracking and have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!

Judy Thu, 20 Dec 2012 07:08:21 EST December 1, 2012 - SAD DAY http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5153129 My Mother came down to get my Dad today to bring him back up to Heaven to spend eternity with her. I'm sure my Dad sang songs while my mother hummed and they danced their way to Heaven. My father was 91 3/4 years old when he died. He had a stroke on the 29th which left him paralyzed on his left side. He had always been extremely active with gardening, carpentry, square dancing, round dancing, rumba and any other type of dance that you can think of including giving dancing lessons to group... They took an x-ray to see how the foot/toes were healing. The second metatarsal has a Freidberg's Afracture which means the joint is dying and I will be needing another surgery to do an implant in place of the bad joint. I am to return in one month for another x-ray to see how the joint of the next toe is doing which also looked like it was dying also but no as quickly. I told him I'd be waiting on the surgery until both toe join... Tue, 27 Nov 2012 19:31:08 EST UPDATE http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5133408 Saw the ortho regarding my shoulder again. The physical therapy hasn't really helped that much. One exercise made the shoulder worse. E-stems helps for about 15-30 minutes after it shuts off but that's about it. At least it gives me a little reprieve from the aching/pain. Dr has me scheduled for a scope on my shoulder in hopes that he will be able to repair the tears, remove the arthritis and do a total once over of my left shoulder. If he can't repair it all then he'll have to do an op... Mon, 12 Nov 2012 22:50:57 EST FINALLY!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5113014 What a relief!! These things are really hurting!!!! I'm still in a cast from my fall 2 1/2 weeks ago. My ribs were starting to heal until this last fall. Had x-rays of lower back and showed no fractured but there were degenerative changes again. The day after the fall I found a swollen and very painful spot about mid-back and I am very sore on part of my ribs again and goes around to and includes my abdomen. WOW! Was he right!!! I think it felt better when the swelling was there!!!

For fitness, I'm using pushups for transporting from wheelchair to chair, toilet etc. For wheeling myself around in the wheelchair I'm using low-impact cardio. I can't think of anything else that would resemble those activities any closer. Anyone else got any ideas what I could use? I'd rather be walking the dogs like I ... My regular beautician wasn't there but another lady took me. They always have to sit you in front of this big mirror when they do your hair. I always purposely tried not to look in the mirror at myself because I didn't like what I saw. I always saw this "fat person" who seemed to fail at just about everything - or so I thought.

You see, I grew up not knowing if my name was Jesus Christ, God Dam It for Half Ass (sorry for the language Lord). My husband, myself, and several others in our Mobile Home Park searched for 40 minutes today looking for one of our 10 1/2 month old toy poodle in 98 degree heat. She was out in back with my husband and snuck out the gate while he was working in the shed. It's the usual for here in Weslaco. When it tells us we have a 0% to 10% chance of rain that's usually when we might see a little rain. Strange.

It's been a blah day today but did better on my food. Walked the puppies again for 30 minutes tonight but not much breeze and lots of humidity. Walked our two puppies (25 minutes) tonight.

L3-S1 are acting up a lot. Was hoping the walking would help but doesn't seem to be doing much. Pain most of today went down to my ankles. Feeling under the weather again for the most part of the day. I did, however, go with my husband to walk the dogs for 25 minutes. When I got back to the house, my sugar had taken a drop so had to eat a sandwich and some milk. Feeling better now that I ate. We had breakfast and lunch while driving and then had a bigger meal for supper after checking into the motel. So far we've seen a car on fire and then a little bit later we saw a small fire along the side of the road. We're alm... Tue, 26 Jun 2012 22:14:22 EST
