JPVALPO24's SparkPeople Blog JPVALPO24's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community week 6 and 3rd set of cortisone shots Well, I am praying that these injections in my feet were the last one's I have to get! Those are painful! I have my orthodic's, medicine, and have been given three sets of shots. I am praying that this is it and that I can get back into the gym finally. I have never had feet problems and it is so strange to me that all of a sudden my left foot hurt so bad that I thought I had a heel spur because I could barely walk. Turns out it is plantar facitis and it is in both feet. I had my first shot a... Fri, 20 Dec 2013 16:50:40 EST feet problems I am feeling a little discouraged right now because after the last year of working out 4-5 days a week I started having problems with my feet 24 I have been to the foot doctor and started getting cortisone shots in one heal and some medication, it is starting to feel better and I will need some arch supports and some more shots, but then the other foot started bothering me. I love to walk on the treadmill because I can't do the eliptical machine and how the heck can you exercise w... Wed, 27 Nov 2013 15:36:47 EST Yay it is finally Friday!! and I am feeling good! I woke up yesterday and today feeling super motivated and excited about going to work out. I have a great friend at the YMCA that keeps me in check, I don't want to let her down or myself. Fri, 11 Oct 2013 13:48:20 EST what is with the headaches after the eliptical machine? So when I started my exercise routine i was getting headaches every day. Some days it would last all day and a couple of times it lasted for a couple of days. After consulting my doctor she said to keep my heart rate at 150 or less. Well I am thinking based on my age and weight and such that I should be able to go up to 180, but I don't want the headaches.

So i have been walking on the treadmill and as long as I stay at 150 or less there is no headaches. I do have a very damaged ... Tue, 16 Jul 2013 13:28:08 EST hanging in there I recently have hurt my back working out. It started last thursday after walking and i have started lifting weights and i think that the machines just feel so much easier that i wasn't paying attention to my back. I walked slowly this morning and wore my back brace. I had a little pain, but i am sure it will get better. I had back surgery 3 yrs ago but sometimes my back still hurts. I have decided to lift hand weights manually and i can do the ab machine and leg press. I can probably do a cou... Tue, 2 Jul 2013 13:58:07 EST I am feeling very motivated right now! I am so happy that i have a workout buddy to go to the gym with! I have never been more motivated to stay on track and get healthy. I have been going to the gym 3 days a week to do cardio and usually i do 2 other days at home of yoga or resistance bands workout. I am thinking about going those 2 days to the gym now and lifting weights. I am a little leary because of my back problems but as long as i am careful i think that I will be fine. I am just feeling so good right now and I have been tr... Fri, 7 Jun 2013 10:27:15 EST As my friend put it: Put on the brakes!! I have been doing so good for the last 5 months and recently, in the last few days, i have been eating awful and over eating. I knew it every time i went to take a bite of something but i couldn't stop. So from now on I will just say no and if i am truly hungry i will grab some peanuts or something. I am so grateful to have found a workout buddy that holds me accountable and that i don't want to let down! So as of this moment i am back on track! No excuses for me now 381 Tue, 14 May 2013 20:26:01 EST is there a way to reset my nutrition goals to what spark says i need? I had changed my nutrition goals and I am trying to figure out if there is a way to reset it back to what spark has suggested. Does anyone know how to do that? I was doing 1200 calories a day, but i just can't make it on that. I was constantly hungry and had headaches. If you know please let me know. Thank you! Mon, 1 Apr 2013 13:17:43 EST time to renew my promise to myself Well i was doing great for about a month with my tracking and eating, until recently. I have slacked back into bad eating habits for the last week and a half or so. I have to stop doing that, vacation is not an excuse to eat whatever I want. I need to get my but back into gear. I have lost 6 lbs and that should be motivation enough to stay on track. I have recently found someone who lives by me and I am hoping we can buddy up and make a connection which will keep me accountable for what i do.... Tue, 19 Mar 2013 13:14:05 EST so i made it to another day, not starving as bad today Well i think my stomach is starting to get back on track with my new calorie restrictions but it is still growling loudly at me. Someone suggested eating some carbs with protein for snacks , i think that is what i will try. I know i will get past this, but it has been a hard two weeks. All of m y wonderful friends here continue to encourage me and give me support and that is extremely helpful! i am going to blow up my pilates ball today and start doing things while watching tv and also bring ... Fri, 18 Jan 2013 13:40:33 EST I hate feeling like i am starving when i am eating good I have been doing pretty good so far on my tracking and have gone over the calories a few times but not too bad. I have been feeling like i am starving though and my stomach growling loudly doesn't help. it is hard to go from eating whatever you want to a restricted calorie diet. I feel so dramatic saying this, but a few times i have felt like I was going to die if i didn't eat. I have been eating a good breakfast, lunch , dinner and snacks but it seems like it is not enough. All of my tracki... Thu, 17 Jan 2013 14:40:51 EST a promise to myself ok so it is a new year and i am making a promise to myself that i am going to stay on track for good now. No breaks or quitting. I have gained 30 lbs since my spinal fusion in 2010 and it is time to get rid of that weight. I have been tracking and eating right all week and now i need to start working out and burning this fat. So no 104 straying or binge eating at night. No excuses!!! Get off your fat butt and do this! Thu, 10 Jan 2013 14:03:27 EST does anyone use protein powder? does it give you gas? I have been contemplating getting protein powder to put in my fruit smoothies, but I dont know if it gives you gas or not. I have heard from people trying to bulk up with protein that it does. Does anyone Know?? Despite lingering nerve pain from spinal fusion a year ago I have been exercising as much as possible and tracking my food. I am doing really good so far, only lost 1lb this week, but I am happy about that and it motivates me to want to push myself so that I can lose more. Thanks for ... Wed, 14 Sep 2011 14:18:10 EST Proud of myself today I made it through the day and stuck to my meal plan. I am proud of myself for staying within my nutritional limits and exercised. I walked one mile today in 20 min and that is the most I have walked in about a year. It felt really good

I have also been reminding myself about how blessed I am. I have a great family, awesome friends, a great guy, and I am alive. Every day my feet hit the floor is a good day 224

I know I can stay on track now, it's those sugar c... Mon, 15 Aug 2011 22:32:45 EST Changing my thinking about life It is time for me to open my eyes each morning and realize just how much I am blessed to be alive today, have an awesome family, and great friends. Sometimes the obstacles that make life more challenging seem to take over and we forget how precious life is. I started this journey for me and sometimes I lose sight of my goals, but it is time to surround myself with more positive things and remind myself that this life is what I make it. Today I am reminding myself of these goals and facts: <... Fri, 29 Apr 2011 11:08:24 EST i keep saying this, but i am getting back on track again I feel like i keep blogging the same things. Getting back on the wagon. Since my spinal fusion have gained 10lbs that i can't seem to lose, I am still fusing though and that makes exercise difficult. I am considering joining the YMCA by me so that I can use the pool. Nutritionally, well I have been doing alot of emotional eating in the past few months, but these last 2 weeks I have been tracking, measuring, and just being aware of what i put in my mouth.
I made rasberry icetea yesterd... Wed, 20 Apr 2011 10:35:57 EST Does anyone know if those electric cigarettes work? I am trying to quit smoking, for the thousanth time, I am wondering if anyone else has tried them? my boyfriend got one, but he doesn't feel like it is enough and he still smokes some cigarettes. If it works I will buy one. I imagine that it is easier than gum or patches because it is just like a cigarette. You can step down in nicotine mg's and you don't get all the tar and stuff like you do from regular cigarettes. Feed back will be much appreciated and also any suggestions or advice anyone... Fri, 18 Feb 2011 12:13:47 EST I feel like this is a confessional, lol! I am back on spark to stay for good this time. I took a reprieve after back surgery and just went into a funk. Depressed because i was in pain, depressed because of the weight I have gained since my surgery, and depressed because I was not caring what I put in my mouth anymore.
My eye opener was when I had to go up a jean size which meant buying new jeans because i had gotten rid of all the clothes that were too big. I was up again last night late and found myself in the kitchen at leas... Sat, 5 Feb 2011 17:25:52 EST
