Tue, 15 Jul 2014 17:32:09 EST Starting A New Streak Today Well, it;s not really new; I had a 6 minute morning abs routine that I did for YEARS, then I added in some fitness ball exercises, then later some yoga, then topped it off with pushups and it was no longer and easy 10 minutes it had become a daunting 45 minutes that became a chore and I just stopped! I tend to do that, didn't cut back; just gave it up. Lesson learned.

Returning to yoga last week and buying a T shirt dress for a cool alternative at home yesterday both were wake up... Mon, 14 Jul 2014 11:02:24 EST July Garden Picture Blog or How I Get My Fitness Minutes! First, I want to thank CAZ for asking for some updated garden pictures. I have a tendency to look at my garden with an eye for work to be done! After walking Sugar and Bear this morning I decided to see if, in spite of the lack of rain, there was enough to do this. Pleasant surprise! Some plants are past their prime but others taking their place. I've really enjoyed my garden this year! Both photographing it and working in it. Good day to blog about it as it's in the high 90's now, cri... Sat, 12 Jul 2014 14:55:59 EST Dog Days of Summer Generally speaking July and August in Central KY are hot, hot, hot. For me and mine that means outdoor time is in the morning and evening. Errands and house activities mid afternoon. Today, after sparking with my morning coffee I walked Sugar and Bear then worked in the garden for 2 hours. All 3 of my housemates were in the yard with me.

I just now got back from my grocery shopping. This was my greeting (handiest camera was my phone, not good indoors; not that I should worry. ... Thu, 10 Jul 2014 15:32:32 EST Summer Fun - survival reminder I had a wonderful family day today.

DD is in from Maryland with two of my preteen grandkids (one is in my 2001 picture on my page with me). It will be a busy week but also one that will be hard to fit in my fitness activity. Extra housework is going to have to count for something. But maintenance really is more in the kitchen than in the gym. I'm lucky that this family eats a lot like I do; only some "extras" to tempt me.

Today we had a family gathering at a local ... Sun, 29 Jun 2014 23:26:11 EST Sugar and Bear are NOT Wimps! Well, OK; Sugar is a wimp. But, she's a very sweet wimp that survives very well with her sister Xena Warrior princess.

Bear is NOT a wimp by any means. Fri, 6 Jun 2014 11:40:58 EST May a great month for roses and furry friends. Pics, no story. We'll start with my fur balls first: Sugar had gotten really shaggy; I don't think her coat would stop growing if just left alone. So she got a bath and a good grooming that included a major haircut. I must have taken a bucket of hair off her and she looked and I'm sure felt better. I won't let it get that long again. Maybe 2 major haircuts a year.

Fluffy Sugar only lasts a few days; then her hair crimps u... He goes up just fine, but to come down; he needs a little help! If he lived here, he would have to learn how. As is, I'm not going to add to his stress by trying to teach him something he'll only need for the short time he's here. I'm also getting a little exercise carrying him back d... Sun, 4 May 2014 20:49:43 EST Duds and Double Mulching After the last blog about Sugar's Landscape design there were some questions about double mulching. Then a fun chat in my Maintainer's Team about what we wear gardening. Seems anything goes from bikinis to full coverage. Depending on the day and the job I have a wide range too. But for serious digging, planting or mulching. The down and dirty jobs, I suit up in my Down and Dirty Duds! I just returned from a Spring Break trip with one of my daughters and her family. What a fun family and what a fun get away; thought I'd share. She found us a wonderful, welcoming cabin in Sevierville, TN. Near to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlingburg all fun vacation destinations. But very touristy, busy and high traffic. Relax! It's not me, I got through the holidays just fine. It's my girl 239 . Xena has been really leary of going outside since the tree removal; both the changes in the yard and memories of all the noise and equipment, I'm sure. Then there's the weather and I'm not gardening now. I knew she'd need an upgrade on her harness as it's getting ragged.
