But, I am going to start again. First with my exercise. My goal is to focus on getting stronger first and watch portion control on food intake, which I am actually not too bad at. Wed, 13 Jun 2012 12:52:21 EST Weigh in day Well, today was weigh in day. I forgot til after I ate breakfast and I had a few more clothes on than when I usually weigh but I managed to lose 1.3 pounds. Finally, the scale goes down just a bit. It is a slow process for me but little by little, I can tell I am getting stronger. I am hoping the coconut oil supplements help with my thryoid issue. Went to my mom's house for the weekend and brought the grandkids and my son home with me for a week. We have been swimming though and I have done a few of my workouts. I have already started reading the cookbook and look forward to learning how to make better, healthy food, in more variety. I really want to learn to make my own chicken and veggie stock for soups and stews. The cookbook is very interesting so far. I take a serving of meat (turkey, ham, chicken, etc) melt on a serving of cheese (colby, montery jack, swiss, etc) stuff it in and throw in a mixed table spoon or two of peppers (red, green, yellow, orange...all chopped in together...very pretty) and one teaspoon of Kraft Mayo made with olive oil...and you have the best tasting sandwich in the world! Monday we went shopping and to a movie and dinner since our anniversary is Thursday and we will be at the meeting. Yesterday we cleaned the whole apartment, cleaned curtains, washed rugs, cleaned windows, yes the whole nine yards. And today it was physicals, blood tests, mammogram, and I got a shot. It's actually been a few weeks. I have been adding a healthy portion of cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, carrots etc to my meals. I feel full longer and seem to be able to control my cravings better. I was awake til 4 am so I didn't really get out of bed til 11 am. I read my e-mails, worked out, did the dishes, then made breakfast. They are doing some test. She has congestive heart failure, enlarged heart and fluid around the heart, and she was sick and got bronchitis. She has been in there since Saturday night. I quit drinking sodas (again) a couple of months ago. Was feeling some pain. I ended up sleeping in until 10 am. So after I got up and worked out and did the dishes from last night, hubby was home for lunch. I still think I am doing things right. This is my first weigh in since I started logging and exercising less than two week ago. So I am not going to let it discourage me. I know I have been eating right and exercising for almost two weeks now. It takes time for changes to show up. On the positive side, my pants do feel a little baggier to me this am. I saw a quote from another person recently. When deciding what to eat she would ask herself "Do I really want to wear that?" I thought that might be another thing I could think of when I get ready to eat, or shop for that matter. I tried those Emerald Cocoa Roasted Almonds. Just enough cocoa to kill the need for chocolate. It is made with dark chocolate so it has the antioxidents and good potassium and protein. One ounce gives you 6 protein 3 dietary fiber and 1 sugar. Plus 210 potassium and only 25 sodium. Of coarse it has 13 g of fat but it is the healthy kind and only 150 calories. I don't know if it is the rain, weather change, or the workout I did yesterday, but my left hip and back are so bad right now I can hardly stand up. I really hate these days. After a good weekend visit with my parents (which I haven't been able to do for months) I came home and was sick for the next two days. After a few setbacks this winter I am finally trying to recoup and make some progress. I am still not feeling so good and am taking 2,000 mg of antibiotics a day. I have until Monday night to finish. I can still feel the infection in my left ear isn't completely gone. I finally broke down and went to hospital cause I started having trouble breathing. <BR> <BR> I was diagnosed with an inner ear infection (which needs antibiotics) and all the drainage caused bronchitis too. Hence the breathing issues. <BR> <BR> I got home from the hospital around 11 pm and started on the antibiotics. I have had to sleep in a chair for the last three days because every time I lay down I start coughing so hard that I can't hardly stop. I am coughing up stuff. (YUCKY!!) I have to take niquil capsules every six hours to keep from hurting and coughing so much. I am also using cough drops, and chicken broth, and hot lemon and honey water.
