Life has been crazy and busy, but that's no excuse. Three weeks marks the beginning of summer vacation, changing of routine, and the threat of weight gain. I haven't gained any weight back in my absence from Spark People, but I'm still not at my goal. I need the extra motivation and incentives to get me the rest of the way! Fri, 21 May 2010 19:29:24 EST Back from Hiatus http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2204455 So...I lost 10 pounds as of the end of May. I was feeling pretty great. Very proud of myself...perhaps a little too proud because I decided that I didn't need to track my eating or exercise on sparkpeople anymore....hmm, that was a mistake because here I am a little over a month later and 5 pounds heavier :( With the start of summer and vacations and visitors my eating habits went south. It's time to get back on the wagon and recommit to my self-improvement. It feels great to lose weight, I j... Sun, 5 Jul 2009 17:30:06 EST Sweet Tooth http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1850329 494 I have come to the realization that I eat way too much sugar (mainly in the form of chocolate). Our pantry and refrigerator are full of healthy snacks, but it's the dark chocolate hershey kisses in the freezer that I seem to always grab for. For as long as I have been living on my own, I have had hershey kisses in the freezer...I'm taking a big step today and NOT replacing the bag that just ran out today. No more chocolate kisses. The next step...no more buying sugar cereal. Lu... Wed, 4 Mar 2009 15:46:31 EST Back from a Bug http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1827306 Having a cold sucks...but it feels good to actually run tonight after a week of not being able to breath out of my nose! While I feel well enough to get back to running, a part of me is a little upset that I have been set back a whole week...no exercise for a whole week...I know that it wasn't my fault, that I was sick, but I'm finding it a little hard to jump back on the wagon. I was just hitting my stride, my routine, and then boom, a cold :( I just need to force myself back into my routine... Tue, 24 Feb 2009 21:56:56 EST 1st Attempt http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1777015 182 I've been running pretty consistantly for the last month or so and I've been really surprised and excited about how fast I have built up my endurance. Tonight I attempted to run a 5k on my treadmill for the first time. I wasn't able to run the whole time, but I ran a good chunk of it and finished in 40 minutes!! My goal is to run it in under 30, so I think I'm well on my way. I'm so excited that I am able to run this fast/long. I couldn't even run a full mile in high school and... Fri, 6 Feb 2009 23:02:27 EST Venting then Moving On http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1714227 234
I was doing great this week...eating well, staying within my desired caloric range, running 30 mins/day...and today I fell off the nutrition wagon. It all started to crumble when I split a scone with my husband...a scone! And I know how terrible those are for you! Argh! Then, instead of wanting to cook dinner, we bought a frozen pizza...for cryin' out loud, I'm so mad at myself. To top it all off, I made myself a shake (ice, milk, banana, PB) for a snack after dinner. The ... Sun, 18 Jan 2009 21:49:47 EST
