I joined to loose 13 pounds. I've lost 4. That's about a half a pound a week. Am I disappointed? No, absolutely not. I wanted to lose weight because I had such a lack of energy. I have 438 fitness points for the Month of May. With a 3 day weekend ahead and a raised bed garden crying out to be sorted out, I have set a goal for myself to skootch that number up to 555 minutes over the weekend. Sat, 25 May 2013 10:34:37 EST Day 41 - Canning low-fat corned beef today I prepared brine and cut up a 10 pound round roast last weekend. I've been brining and flipping the meat all week. Today I'll be canning it. <BR> <BR> We love corned beef and this will be a low fat alternative to the fatty canned corned beef I buy in the store. As an added bonus, it will cost about half of what I pay for a can of corned beef. <BR> <BR> It will be so nice to have this stocked in my pantry when the corned beef and cabbage cravings hit us! I've lost some pounds, traded some fat for muscle, lost an inch around my waist, increased my energy, improved my attitude, gotten better sleep, and made some new friends. <BR> <BR> I came here to LOSE, but I found that I have GAINED far more than I've lost. Funny thing, I didn't even consider food as a reward option. I didn't realize that until this morning. That is a definite shift of things. Probably because all of the healthy food choices I am making now are really satisfying. Wed, 17 Apr 2013 08:40:08 EST 15 Day Streak - Breaking away from Fast Break Today is day 15. I've tracked my food and exercise and learned a lot about my habits and inclinations in the process. I've noticed that I will refrain from popping something into my mouth if it means I have to stop and go to my tracker. <BR> <BR> Tracking has not only helped me to reduce my intake, but to make wiser choice of what I do eat. I'm motivated, I'm tracking, I'm measuring, I'm drinking a half a gallon of water a day, I'm intentionally taking stairs, I'm spending a couple of hours on SP looking up foods, keying in recipes, racking up my daily points... but for the past two days, I haven't gotten but 10 minutes of extra movement into my day. I have hypothyroidism and weight gain and energy are a constant struggle for me. I've gotten into the habit of getting up every morning, spinning the wheel and doing 25 points worth of sparks so that I can spin the second time before I go to work. I do this while I eat my breakfast. Eating breakfast is a key to success for me. A good breakfast of about 250 calories lets me start my day feeling powerful.
