Between losing my job (and trying to find a new one), unexpected other loss, having to commute to a job again....the stars are not in alignment. Further, I really do not know what I want to do regarding fitness. I wake each morning with my caloric range in my head, and I am making good choices based on what I know. I respect the range and I am grateful for that. I am not motivated to sign up for a specific race, and right now I feel like th... Tue, 21 Aug 2012 22:35:01 EST Make It Good http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5010827 Gosh life sure seems busy and demanding these days. There is a lot of good that comes from it, and that is where I like to keep my focus. I helped with coordination and fundraising for a Women's Distance Festival that was held today. I loved seeing the gym full of Moms of all ages, daughters, sisters, and all the men who marshaled the course for us. This is about the loss of a person who I would have so loved to meet in person...but did not. However our friendship was strong. I am sure we can all attest to how strong we develop bonds here on SP. This is about a wonderful woman named Teresa. She was the quiet type. Not quick to jump on a bandwagon or say the popular thing. Very much centered on her family, and not spending so much time wishing for different family. She maybe, if I talk to her one ... I weighed in this morning, and the news was not good. The last few weigh ins, the number just goes up instead of down. I really didn't think I'd be sitting here, having to lose 10 lbs. Not 5, but 10, to get back to goal weight. If I float a few lbs away from my goal weight...it doesn't bother me. But 10 lbs changes how my clothes fit. Who are we kidding...it's a mind game and our tummies are confused! <em... Mon, 7 Nov 2011 16:54:13 EST Week 1, Day 1, 13 minutes http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4550575 In the upper 40s this morning. Enough to make me want to cover my arms, which wasn't a big deal since I wouldn't be out too long.

As much as I appreciate how fast my dog makes me run...it isn't a sustainable pace and it causes a very mixed result on my pacing. I put her in the back yard so she wouldn't stand at the front window...barking at me 200

While I was taping the knees, I heard a fave One Republic song of mine. So I decided to put the album on instead ... Mon, 24 Oct 2011 11:00:12 EST PT Complete - Now What? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4543636 So I had been on my own all of the MWF's in October for PT due to sick kids or my PT doc out of the country. I only missed one day due to my own illness.

I got in and explained everything I had been doing. I know I had been cautious by keeping to my 10 minutes of running...but I wanted to be certain all was well and wanted today's assessment behind me before I took it up a notch.

Would you believe she had the nerve to have me run a 10 minute pace? LOL. I can hang at a 1... Wed, 19 Oct 2011 15:52:56 EST Something I'm Pondering During PT http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4528420 So here is a revelation...okay maybe not. You know we (folks who enjoy the run/jog/walk/etc) tend to advise eager new faces to get good shoes and that a great start is a couch to 5k. Okay, agreed. But something that has really been on my mind is this...why not really nail that 1 mile I am allowed...get to the target pace I want to be at, and then slowly increase my distance? (Note: PT doc said do not extend distance and set a pace goal at the same time. if focusing on pace...keep to same numb... Mon, 10 Oct 2011 12:28:58 EST PT Progress Report http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4504994 It's been nearly 20 days since my last update, so I wanted to post a blog on my PT. Since my last blog, I've gone from 2 PT sessions/week (with 1 session at home), to 1 PT session/wk (with 2 sessions at home).

I am regularly taping my own knees thanks to Amazon's goodness. 250 I do have my knee brace, but it definitely changes my gait and leaves me a little uncomfortable. If I tape my knees and do my stretches then all is fine. Zero discomfort.

Three challeng... Mon, 26 Sep 2011 14:07:58 EST PT Progress Report http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4473688 So this week it was mixed up a little with the holiday. Had PT on Tuesday and Thursday. Added some ribbons and sideways run drills, as well as upping the pace on the TM. The PT doc didn't like me taking walk breaks because she couldn't get a feel for how the constant running would bother the knee. So this week there were no walk breaks.

On Tuesday, I got up to 4.5 on the TM with 0 incline. Today, I got up to 5.0 with 0 incline.

I will have an eval next Wednesday to see ... Thu, 8 Sep 2011 13:27:10 EST Back to school, back to routine, back to...running? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4462697 What a busy week this has been...but we are falling back into school, signing agendas, homework for the two oldest, and going to bed nice and early so each day is as successful as it can be. 250

I was happy to walk into PT on Monday morning with zero discomforts to share. I do think that the elliptical plus the treadmill was too much...so when we backed off elliptical and stuck to treadmill I did recoup just fine.

We did decide to go with taping to see if the ... Fri, 2 Sep 2011 13:40:09 EST Scuffled Into PT Today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4442932 Yeah I was crabby. What of it? 211 I mean...I was all excited and I have been in PT all Summer...and I suddenly had soreness above my kneecap on Friday morning...and I recalled why I was in PT...for that soreness...and here I was...with that same soreness...made me want to 225

I distracted myself of the poor me feelings by doing some decluttering. Although it wasn't laden with the best choices...taking ~8 or 9 boxes to Goodwill plus a TV. Yeah that TV was a be... Mon, 22 Aug 2011 23:12:27 EST Took a Walk In My Shoes http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4433553 First...I haven't blogged this week. So the very first thing on my mind is my spark friend, NINJALINDA, who lost her husband this week. I have a very heavy heart about it and I am praying for her and her family. I am asking anyone reading to please say a prayer for her and her family too.

Second, I have been continuing this week with PT. A good bit of my PT has been lying on a table, doing reps that strengthen my quads (as well as work on improving the alignment of the kneecaps......
