It was so cold and icy. I had to be very careful and stare at the ground almost the entire time. I went to the middle school and ran laps around the parking lot because it was less icy than the sidewalks. It made for a pretty boring time outside. I ran pretty slowly. A lot of the is due to needing to build back up my stamina and fitness level. But a lot of it was due to worrying about the icy conditions. This winter is killing me. I can't wait for ... Mon, 24 Feb 2014 11:55:30 EST Game Night http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5630483 I almost failed to write today.

Last night did not go as well as I had hoped. I did not meet my step goal. And I really really tried. I did so many basement laps. And I still fell short by 2000 steps.

At least the games were fun. Fri, 21 Feb 2014 22:31:02 EST First Run of 2014 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5629206 Yep. I went out for my first run of the year last night. I had to take advantage of the nice evening. I'm glad I did; it's thundersnowing today.

A nice byproduct of going out for the run was that I actually hit my step goal for the day. I never hit my step goal anymore unless I do laps around my kitchen. When it's nice out, I usually hit my step goal without trying. In the winter, I rarely hit my step goal, even when I'm trying.

Last night's run was wimpy, and I still ha... Thu, 20 Feb 2014 12:28:34 EST Monster http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5628527 I'm so hungry all the time! WHY?! Wed, 19 Feb 2014 17:04:34 EST New Year Streak http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5627548 I feel like I should get back to blogging. Maybe doing so will help me find a healthier path than the one I've been on for the past several months.

I have nothing healthy to report. Well, except that my New Year streak is still alive.

Every year for the new year, I start a streak instead of making a resolution I know I won't keep. I usually give up going out to eat. In the past, I've made exceptions for going out when someone else is buying. This year I had to alter the ... Tue, 18 Feb 2014 17:03:39 EST Mostly work http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5541105 Last night I skipped my run and didn't make my step goal. I made plans to visit a friends and watch a movie and drink beer instead. So instead of running, I made a batch of homemade soft pretzels to go with the beer.

I'm happy with my decision. It's bitter cold out there and my pretzel making skills are improving. Tonight will be just as cold, but I'm going to leave work on time and hopefully be able to run while there's still a bit of light out. I should probably be staying late, ... Thu, 14 Nov 2013 12:46:54 EST Sticking with the running http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5539400 Last night I ran in the snow. It was cold, and I didn't want to do it, and I ran pretty poorly. But I did it. And I made my step goal. And I ended up with a tummy ache by the end of the night. But I feel better today.

I'm having company over tonight, so there isn't much time for a workout. I'd like to play Just Dance again for a while, but I don't want to get all sweaty. So I don't know what I'm going to do. Maybe I'll just go for a walk when I get home. But it's cold. And walking... Tue, 12 Nov 2013 16:47:40 EST Thinking about it. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5538453 It's cold and wet out there. I'm not looking forward to running.

But I am looking forward to being able to say I did it. And making my step goal for the day.

I've been having a bit of difficulty reaching my step goal lately. I put my bike away for the winter already and didn't come close to my mileage goal for the year, but I knew that was going to happen because I've been busy with other things that make me happy. And really, what's the point of being healthy and in sha... Mon, 11 Nov 2013 17:10:10 EST Week 4 of Zombie 5K training is so boring. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5517159 I started running again and this was my 3rd week since my "reset". I'm scheduled to run Monday Wednesday Friday, with the option of pushing back a day if things get hectic. And of course, things got hectic this week. I'm working on a project at work and I was at work until 7 almost every day this week, except Wednesday (I had a dentist appointment) and Friday (eff that noise, I'm partying). I ran on Monday, but on Wednesday, Mom offered to help me clean and I couldn't say no. By the time she ... Fri, 18 Oct 2013 16:22:49 EST Enough messing around. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5446700 I fell off track around the end of April. I have a plethora of excuses: I started dating someone new, I went on vacation, I lost interest. The bottom line, eating right - or NOT eating crap - is time consuming and takes effort. Salad isn't nearly as fun to eat as pizza or tacos. And when I get off track, I forget that food that is good for me DOES taste good too. I just need to put forth the effort to prep my food and clean my dishes. I have to remind myself that I like the results, and it do... Tue, 6 Aug 2013 16:48:17 EST 5 to 10K http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5366877 Last night I started a 5 to 10K program with a new app. The zombie one was fun, but now that I'm done with the 5K training, it's all free form. Run when you want or walk. I'm not so good with that. I'll end up running a 5K every time and I don't want to do that. I really liked the extra exercises they threw in there for the 5K training (heel lifts, knee lifts and skipping). I think I may just use the new program as a guide and figure out a way to incorporate those extras. I'm also considering... Fri, 24 May 2013 16:23:54 EST Yes, I'm twitterpated. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5355595 I've been so busy lately. But it's been good.

And yes, I'm pretty flipping twitterpated. Just when I think I can be cool, he does something adorable.

Today there was a postcard in the mail from his trip to Seattle. Totally unexpected. And incredibly sweet.

He got home from his 2-week trip on Friday evening. He had plans to go straight to his friend's house from the airport. I was antsy to see him, but we had plans for Saturday, and I could wait. Still, he chat... Mon, 13 May 2013 20:37:19 EST Blah blah blah guy stuff http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5349315 Tuesday down. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to go before I can see him again. It should be pretty easy. Work is slow and boring but I have stuff keeping me busy every night.

Tonight I met up with my friend and we had dinner and ice cream and a happy walk around Ferndale. The great thing about hanging out with Jen is that she GETS IT. She's the one that convinced me to join eHarmony. We'd swap awful dating stories. And about a month ago she met a guy outside of eHarmony - a friend... Wed, 8 May 2013 00:57:37 EST Back from vacation http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5348134 So, I'm back from vacation and jumped right into a full week of new system training at work. It makes for long, slow work days. The morning today wasn't too bad, but I started dozing in the afternoon.

Speaking of dozing in the afternoon, I'm still kinda on California time and I should have gone to bed hours ago. So I'm going to to go do that. The trip was good. Things are going well with S. I'll elaborate some more when I get a chance. But who knows when that could be. Tue, 7 May 2013 01:33:17 EST The bad and the good. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5338884 I took last week off of my meal plan. I ran out of groceries and spent my free time having fun instead of taking care of business. I also took the week off from strength training. Partially because I didn't want to do my current workout anymore, and partially because I was busy having fun. Due to the lack of groceries, I ended up eating out for lunch. Every. Day. I was awful. Not to mention that I also had a donut or a bagel almost every day of the week too. I went out to dinner on Monday wit... Sun, 28 Apr 2013 23:59:07 EST Time is crawling. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5336420 Trivia last night was not as fun as I had expected. When I got there, Dad was in a huff about the mug that the waitress had brought him to drink his beer when he specifically requested no mug. That kind of set the tone for Dad’s attitude for the night and when he’s cranky, he ruins it for everyone else.

Mom asked me how my date on Monday went. And while I was talking about it, Dad interrupted me to talk about something else. And then Mom asked me again, and that’s how the night wen... Fri, 26 Apr 2013 13:27:54 EST Yesterday's Post http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5336375 I wrote this up yesterday, but never posted it. So here's yesterday's post:

Hooray for trivia tonight! I feel like I'm going through withdrawals. I miss my family fun time. Missing one week wasn't so bad, but 2 weeks in a row has been kind of tough! It all worked out for the best, though. At least, so far so good.

So plans have been made for tomorrow night's date and I'm excited.

But I was completely unprepared for it and now I don't know what to do; he offere... Fri, 26 Apr 2013 12:40:53 EST Mondate http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5334767 The date on Monday went well. He talks a LOT. Which worked out well for me because I was nervous and quiet. I don't know why I was nervous. Maybe it was because he talked so much. When I have to do all the talking, I usually don't feel nervous at all. That doesn't make much sense, I know.

Anyway, we had a good time. He asked me out again for Friday night. And then he'll be out of town for 3 weeks. I like that. At least, right now I like the concept. I probably won't like it when i... Wed, 24 Apr 2013 23:46:03 EST Work rant http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5331162 Okay. Excellent weekend. Lots of Beechnut. Finished my first 100 miles on my bike. Got to hang with my brother AND my sister, and my parents, of course. And started chatting with a new guy.

Things I'm looking forward to this week: Unsupervised visit with said new guy on Monday night. Trivia with my parents and sister on Thursday. My brother coming home from school for the summer on Thursday which means that I'll probably have more fun with him over the weekend. Hopefully, more bike... Sun, 21 Apr 2013 23:51:03 EST A good night. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5328184 OK, World. I had a pretty good day. Maybe not nutritionally, since i had pizza for lunch and beer and a pretzel for dinner. But emotionally, I got what I haven't had in a long time. A good time with good people! I felt connected for once - not like a wallflower. I actually had FUN in a social setting with people I wasn't completely familiar with! Thank you Beechnut! I had a great time because of you!

Tomorrow is Friday and I'm grateful for that. I'm ready for the weekend. Originall... Thu, 18 Apr 2013 23:41:17 EST Back on the bike http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5327046 This week has just flown right by me. I can't believe tomorrow is already Thursday. My California trip is coming up quick. Today I chatted with my friend about eating arrangements. I sent her a copy of the meal plan I've been following and asked her if she could pick up some groceries for me while I'm there so I can stick to it. She loved the idea, so I'm hoping that will be easy.

I've been fitting in some bike rides this week between the rain. Yesterday I rode 18 miles after work ... Wed, 17 Apr 2013 23:28:52 EST Been busy http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5325842 I've been so busy with work that I haven't made time to track my food or post blogs for the past week and a half.

I've been reading The New Rules of Lifting for Women and it kind of irritates me. All the stuff about lifting is actually at the end of the book. There's a ton of crap about nutrition in the middle. And the author spends a lot of time comparing other diets. I'm bored with it. I want the info about lifting. I've skipped ahead and looked at the pictures. But I still don't... Tue, 16 Apr 2013 23:39:27 EST Something New http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5314255 I can't help it. I'm kind of cracking up right now.

Dealing with eHarmony is an experience. I guess dating, in general, is an experience. But eHarmony... it always seems to throw me for a loop.

I reactivated my notifications today and almost immediately started up communication with a new guy.

When I first started talking to Dan, we plowed through all the startup stuff in one night and were texting each other by the end of the night. The second night, we were... Sun, 7 Apr 2013 02:43:54 EST Seeing Jurassic Park 3D http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5313634 Today is one of those days that I would normally consider a "special occasion". I'm going to the theater with a group of friends which is something I don't do very often. And every time I go to the theater, I get the pretzel bite combo at the concession stand. It's expensive but they give you a ton and I simply adore soft pretzels with liquid cheese to dip them in. So every time I go, I tell myself "I don't go to the theater often at all and this is a special treat." But I treat myself to it ... Sat, 6 Apr 2013 12:21:28 EST Special occasions http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5313116 I can't believe how supportive you all have been! Thank you so much. I really appreciate all of the kind things you've had to say. Is it odd that complete strangers are able to make me feel better than long-time friends? Everyone's different, I guess. I just love the camaraderie of the people on this site. I don't even know how you found my blog or why you choose to read it, but thank you again for all of your kindness!

I'm doing better today. Trivia night went exactly as planned f... Fri, 5 Apr 2013 22:26:58 EST 2 breakups in 1 day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5311648 I'm so out of it today. I'm sleepy and I keep forgetting that I actually have plans to be around people tonight. It's Thursday, which means Trivia night. I have to pull myself together and make myself sociable and polite. It also means pizza and french onion soup. Last week we planned on not going, so I ate dinner, and then my parents went up for the second round and I went up too just to hang out, but I didn't eat anything and just drank a bunch of water. There was a really good looking piec... Thu, 4 Apr 2013 16:13:32 EST Everything is difficult in one way or another. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5310800 At least I got a good night's sleep on Monday. After my phone call with Dan, I felt really good. But on Tuesday morning I had an email from him saying his goodbye. I didn't sleep last night. Just laid there and waited for the time to tick by.

And after all the worrying I did over telling him I love him, he chooses his break-up letter to return the words to me. You're never supposed to say I love you when you're breaking up with someone. And you certainly should never say it for the... Wed, 3 Apr 2013 23:11:05 EST I'm falling asleep as I type this. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5308203 Today, when I looked in the mirror at the gym, I thought that maybe I look a little different. Like maybe my butt is a bit smaller. And my belly seems a little smaller. I think my boobs might be too. Eh. You take the good, you take the bad.

So here are some numbers. Since March 12, I am down 4.5 pounds, I have gone from 39% fat to 37%. I've lost 2 inches in my waist, and 1.5 inches my my hips. I haven't been measuring my chest, but I think I might start doing that. I'm starting to ... Mon, 1 Apr 2013 22:56:36 EST Easter's over http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5306873 Time to get back on track! I didn't fall off track too badly, but I did spend a lot of time in the car today, and went far too long without eating. And then I made the mistake of allowing my mother to put together a plate for dinner.

In the morning, I did well. I had my normal breakfast, and my normal morning snack. Then we had Easter dinner as a family at 1. Because we had to take my brother back to school and he wanted to get on the road around 2. So dinner was my lunch and I was... Sun, 31 Mar 2013 23:58:14 EST Easter eggs http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5305672 Yesterday was such an excellent say to have half a day off. It was so nice out. I went to the gym and did my strength training and then I went out bike riding. While I was out, I decided to stop at the bike shop and have them reset my odometer. Part of me would like to keep my total miles on it, but the part of me that would like to see my yearly total miles easily won out. So last year I rode my bike 1640 miles. This year I need to beat it. 23 isn't a bad start considering it's not even Apri... Sat, 30 Mar 2013 19:47:07 EST Chicken success http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5304300 I decided to keep the larger pair of shoes and I ran in them last night. A size 9! The shoes I wear for work are an 8. But I'm happier with the extra space in my running shoes, because I also wear heavier socks and my feet get hot and swell when I'm running. So these are probably good for me. My work shoes are probably technically too small for me, but I don't want them flopping off my heels. My new running shoes did not flop off my heels and I did not trip on the extra space in the toe area.... Fri, 29 Mar 2013 12:04:10 EST Which size? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5303519 I ordered some new running shoes from Zappos because they were on sale. I actually bought 2 pair - one in the size I think I wear, and one a half size up because some of the reviews said they run small. I tried them both one last night and they both feel good. I have more toe room in the larger pair which actually feels kind of nice, and I know that feet have a tendency to swell a bit when running. The reason I got these is because the pair I have definitely feel too small. But I can't tell, ... Thu, 28 Mar 2013 17:24:25 EST Crappy Birthday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5302092 So, yeah. My birthday was crappy. i tried not to think of it that way, or admit it, but it was. But a lot of the crappiness had to do with my state of mind. I mentioned that I just wanted to go home and cook and clean and relax in front of the tube, but the truth is, I think I really just wanted to go home and cry.

I feel a little better today. Visiting my aunt and uncle last night didn't help, though. I knew they were just going to complain, and that's what they did. But whatever.... Wed, 27 Mar 2013 13:53:05 EST Heartache http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5300772 Last night I went out to dinner with my family for my birthday. Oddly enough, I didn't want to go. I didn't even want to hang out with them. I just wanted to go home and be left alone. I wanted to try cooking some chicken in my new skillet. I wanted to get some more cleaning done. I wanted to just chill and read a book or play a video game or watch a movie...

But my family wanted to celebrate my birthday, probably because that's what they thought I wanted. I tried to keep my spirit... Tue, 26 Mar 2013 12:28:17 EST Chicken lesson http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5297405 Last night was pretty cool. I was shown how to cook chicken breasts in a skillet. Now I want a cast iron skillet! But I know it's not necessary. They turned out so tasty and tender. And they don't take long to cook at all. The trick I missed was mashing them down before cooking them, so they're nice and uniformly thin. Can't wait to go home and try it for myself. 4 Sat, 23 Mar 2013 16:42:54 EST Friday! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5296453 I attempted pan frying some chicken last night. I threw some away, but as I kept trying, it got a little better and I salvaged at least enough for lunch and dinner today. I ate it for lunch and it was pretty good. Still probably overcooked, but at least I could swallow it without taking a big swig of water at the same time. (Incidentally, that was the only way I could swallow my pork. Hence why I was so tired of super dried out meat.)

Tonight I'm visiting my coach and he's going to... Fri, 22 Mar 2013 17:09:44 EST Cooking = my nemesis http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5295207 I hit my first big disappointment last night, and boy, did it hit hard.

I tried to cook chicken breast in my slow cooker. I had pretty good instructions so I felt good about it. When I got home, it had been cooking on low for 7 hours and it looked good! So I stuck my thermometer in it - 120*. Boo. So I closed it back up and left it in there for another hour. Still 120*. THEN, I turned it up to high and left it in there ANOTHER hour. Still 120*.

I know my thermometer goes... Thu, 21 Mar 2013 15:48:04 EST Down 5 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5293892 Much thanks to Beechnut for the fantastic tip on the Aldi Artisan lettuce. I had my first Aldi salad for lunch today and I loved it. It's a bit more work than a bag from Kroger, but totally worth it.

Today I'm attempting chicken in the CrockPot. I went home for lunch to start it, since I'm usually gone for almost 12 hours a day, and I think that would be too long to cook. Especially since I'm trying to avoid it getting too dried out.

I'll have to try the salmon filets to... Wed, 20 Mar 2013 15:33:39 EST So far so good. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5292631 I love the tips you gave me, Beechnut. I always forget about Aldi's. As I get used to this plan it will be easier to go grocery shopping - especially since I'm eating mostly the same stuff every day. To most people, that sounds like a nightmare. But the truth is, I like eating the same stuff every day. I like not having to put a lot of thought into deciding what to eat. So this could work out.

The toughest part is figuring out how to cook everything. Once I get that down, I'll be m... Tue, 19 Mar 2013 15:59:14 EST New Meal Plan http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5291729 Today I started my new meal plan. It's a lot of food - high protein. I had to force myself to eat a good deal of my dinner and my evening snack because I wasn't remotely hungry. And it all came out to under 1400 calories. Most of the food I wouldn't eat by choice. I'm hoping I can acquire a taste for celery, somehow? Oddly enough, my favorite food of the day was my eggs for breakfast. The protein shake was tastier than I expected too. Thanks for the BodyLogix suggestion, Beechnut. I dig it. <... Mon, 18 Mar 2013 22:35:17 EST The bike is back http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5287758 Last night I rode my bike for the first time this year. I started at 1640 miles - which means I have to ride more than 1640 miles before I put it away for the winter. 10 miles down, 1630 to go. Ha!

It was nice to be out on my bike again, but I didn't head home until after 10, and by then, it was really pretty cold out. I survived, though. And my bike is officially upstairs and ready to use.

I didn't go to the gym yesterday because I don't want to get burned out and I don... Fri, 15 Mar 2013 13:06:20 EST New strength plan http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5286804 So my meal-plan cheerleader has stepped up and is now acting as my personal trainer as well. Last night he gave me the following workout:

Rows with a 25lb barbell.
Flat situps while holding a medicine ball, and bring my toes up to touch the medicine ball in the air.
Pushups
5 minutes on the treadmill with the incline pumped up and running as fast as I can.

Do a set of 15 each, then 12, then 9, then 6, then 3. With 5 minutes of the treadmill in between each... Thu, 14 Mar 2013 17:08:36 EST Making Progress http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5284206 So, the scale was nice to me this morning, in spite of my tortilla-chip-dinner last night. I ate right all day long and when I got home from work, I felt famished and noshed almost a whole bag of tortilla chips. So I spent 45 minutes on the elliptical (watching an episode of X-Files). And lo! Wouldn't you know this morning the scale gave me the number I was hoping to make by Thursday. Now I just have to maintain it today and tomorrow. I think doing so will be easy, especially since I'm going ... Tue, 12 Mar 2013 17:05:43 EST Good weekend http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5282700 So, I went over this meal plan that my friend suggested over the weekend. It seems pretty doable. I'll have to learn how to cook a few things, but I should do that, anyway. The idea of protein shakes kind of scares me, though. But first, I have to buy them.

I'm not quite prepared to start the plan. I have a bunch of food in my house that will go to waste if I do. I'll just try to stick to my calorie range for a while with the foods I have and perhaps slowly integrate the meal plan,... Mon, 11 Mar 2013 14:55:00 EST The evils of work. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5277485 2 days in a row, someone brought in bagels to work and I was able to abstain. So incredibly tough! I adore bagels.

Today, the warehouse manager brought in a pizza from Costco as a thank you to our department for helping to fix his computer. I wanted to skip it, but it was a work thing and I felt obligated to participate as my department consists of me, my boss, and now, our intern.

To add insult to injury, I ate 3 pieces. Basically out of boredom.

I'm not goin... Thu, 7 Mar 2013 13:31:50 EST New goals. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5275196 I'm back too. I don't know how into writing entries I'll be, but I wanted to write one today. I went to the gym with them intention of burning 1,000 calories, but I didn't quite make it. Instead, I burned 603 calories in an hour. I think maybe that's a better goal. See if I can't burn more in an hour next time I go. the machine basically stopped keeping track of my workout once I hit the 1-hour mark and said "END". So I gave it up. And I was happy to do so. I was tired.

I'm going t... Tue, 5 Mar 2013 23:41:44 EST Jacket is mine! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5076078 I got my jacket last night and it is the very pretty cobalt color. It's deep purple/dark blue. I would have preferred a brighter color, but my only other option was the magenta, which was brighter, but not by enough to make me choose it over the prettier blue.

I did not ride my bike. Instead I picked up Dan and we had an adventure night. He came with me to the store, then we looked for the polar bear on Lakeshore. We didn't find it, but it was pretty dark. Then he showed me a creep... Wed, 26 Sep 2012 17:10:11 EST nice dream http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5074468 I'm really hoping that jacket comes in today because that would give me the excuse to bike ride back to Grosse Pointe tonight. And, now that I have my mind set on getting a new jacket, my patience with wearing my winter coat because it's too cold or windy to not have a jacket at all is wearing thin. I wore my winter coat to work yesterday morning and then carried it home. I didn't realize it when I left the house, but it was 39* yesterday morning. Today was a much more moderate 50*. I was loo... Tue, 25 Sep 2012 13:28:17 EST Weekend http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5072276 It got pretty cold pretty quick.

I went to Hanson's Running Shop and checked out their jackets. They're getting the new line now so all the stuff from this year is on sale for 30% off. I think I'm going to get the Brooks Silver Bullet. It's ridiculous expensive for a jacket, but it supposed to be suitable for running in 40* and below. It was the most wind resistant jacket which is important to me because I plan to wear it on my bike too.

They didn't have my size so they... Sun, 23 Sep 2012 23:59:57 EST Need a new jacket http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5070221 I feel better today. House-cleaning and enjoying the day. I screwed up my 10K training plan this week, but I'm back on it now. I read an article about half marathons and it came with a training plan and now I kinda want to do that. Maybe that can keep me going through the winter.

I decided last night that I need a jacket for running/bike riding. Something that will break the wind and I'd like it to be waterproof too, or at least resistant so I can still go out in the rain. I know t... Sat, 22 Sep 2012 10:46:19 EST
