My gym manager is even encouraging ME to become an instructor! 244
Here I am at 58 years young and possibly becoming a Body Pump instructor. Amazing!
Sometimes I think I might work out longer than I should, however it is usually only on Saturdays. I normally get about 30 minutes of cardio and about 15-20 minutes of resistance training 4 days a week. I love it! Though somedays are hard to get motivated, I almost never gi... Mon, 11 Mar 2013 20:37:12 EST Surgery Wednesday I had minor outpatient surgery on my right wrist. I had a ganglion cyst removed from under an artery. No I'm just bruised and a bit sore. Of course no lifting for a few weeks and I probably shouldn't do Spinning either.
I will do other aerobics, such as Zumba or work out on the elliptical machine. I will find a way!! I suppose I can also add Pilates as long as I don't use my wrist.
282 Fri, 25 Feb 2011 21:43:02 EST Quick Blog Boy did I have a rough week! Tuesday was highly emotional, bringing to mind the first 40 years of my life...The good, the bad and the ugly!. I also wasn't able to get to my spin class as often as I needed to. This coming week I will be in NJ visiting with my sister and two brothers. I can't wait!! My knee (arthritis, meniscus tear and Bakers cyst) is feeling so much better.

I go see my primary care Doc tomorrow. My cholesterol has dropped and I know that my blood pressure has gone down. I can't wait to see what he says!

Staying committed to worki... Even when I don't do as well as I should I know that it's just one meal or just one day. I try not to let it get to me.

Tue, 13 Oct 2009 22:57:41 EST Accountability? I came home from work and DID NOT want to workout . Even though I had chenged from my work clothes to my work-out clothes I sat atound, watched TV, played games on the computor and making all kinds of excuses to myself.

DH and Jean are both out of town, so who was going to encourage me to exercise tonite?

Just ME, MYSELF and I....That's who!!
Fri, 9 Oct 2009 23:59:43 EST Lack of Sleep I have such a hard time going to sleep. Oh well...Tomorrow is another day.

247

Good night and God Bless Wed, 7 Oct 2009 22:33:13 EST Bakers Cyst!! Well it's back...My knee is swollen and so is the cyst. Thankfully it's just uncomfortable and isn't painful;!

Today was a great day of exercise! I did Level 3 of Jillian's 30 Day Shred and walked for 3.2 miles. I was able to log all my food and stayed within my calorie range. It really helps when I pre-plan my lunch and snacks for work, otherwise I hit the snack machine and get something at that cafeteria which is usually too salty and high in fat!

Good night for now a... Tue, 6 Oct 2009 22:29:11 EST Crazy day at work! We were completely bogged down at work and I did not have time to log any of my food. On the other hand my workout was great. I did 35 minutes on the treadmill and went 2.5 miles, and 30 Day Shred I did Level 2 and then Level 1!! 85

I actually feel really good!

It's late, but I wrote down my food for the day and will log it in tomorrow.

Good Night and God Bless!!

Mon, 5 Oct 2009 23:01:56 EST Made Up for Yesterday Today I did all three levels on Jillian Micheals 30 Day Shred! All in all I don't feel to bad. Of course tomorrow I may be extremely stiff, but that's the price to pay for beauty 246 !!

I kept track of my food and did well. I was in the high range for my calories but still OK.

DH is doing better today. It was a soldier who he had trained many years ago. He still takes these very hard. Needless to say it's been an extremely rough day.
No exercise and I did not track any food. Sat, 3 Oct 2009 23:34:43 EST October 1st I followed my food plan fairly well. I ended with fewer calories but I mad a quick dessert with an organic flax seed waffle and some ice cream, Yum that hit the spot!
I logged all my food and my exercise. So that is going well.

I walked around my neighborhood just once tonight for 1.6 miles. It was a beautiful evening, a slight breeze and not hot and muggy!

I'm trying to do the Falling Leaves challenges and so far it is fun (however I am sore today). I'm also going ... Thu, 1 Oct 2009 23:26:39 EST Hump Day! WooHoo! Exercised a little, ate alot! Well not really. DH took me out for chinese food. Of course it would have to be a buffet!!! I ended up over my calories by approx 300. Not all is lost, it was just one glitch in an otherwise good day!

Good Night and God Bless
213 Wed, 30 Sep 2009 23:09:38 EST Just Keep on Pluggin' Took a 10 minute walk at work today. I needed to wake up, get that circulation moving!

Walked at home did 1.6 miles in 20 minutes, I did run a little. Then I did a pilate/yoga ball workout. It lasted just over 20 minutes. It felt good and was relaxing but I find I prefer a tougher workout. I will try to do the workout at least once a week as a wind down

I have been logging my food. It will work if I stay consistent. I'm not very good with numbers and will either go over ... Tue, 29 Sep 2009 23:16:59 EST Just me again! 213 Day three and I'm doing OK. I logged all of my food...and I walked/ran a 5k. Actually twice around my nieghborhood is 3.21 miles, just over a 5k. One of my neighbors was very surprised I was on my second lap. He knows the distance and my age (or close enough).

I'm finishing my wine, (Yes I added it to my dinner before I poured it.)

Good night and God Bless 186 Mon, 28 Sep 2009 22:22:54 EST The Truth Hurts! Sun, 27 Sep 2009 20:20:37 EST Starting Over (Oh no,,,not again!) Here I go again. Unfortunately my weight has sneaked up on me again. Time to take control again and become responsible for myself. I will no make excuses for not exercising. If I do have to miss a day than I will exercise on one of my rest days. I will use my pedometer everyday and make sure that I get at least 10,000 steps each day.

My diet...well I promise to use my food tracker. I will write in my food journal at work and use my tracker at night. I have got to be accountable for... Sat, 26 Sep 2009 21:59:11 EST Update and Back on Track I had been trying to run more and enter in some local 5K races. Before my second 5k on July 4th my right knee had become swollen. It turned out that I have a Bakers Cyst, extremely bad arthritis and a meniscus tear which is feeding the cyst. My orthopedist told me there isn't much I can do for it, just wait til the pain is bad enough and then have knee replacement surgery! I can exercise, he just said not to do much high impact stuff.

I'm now walking more (about 3-5 miles a day). I... Thu, 10 Sep 2009 23:00:15 EST Better Today! Thanks for all the encouragement!! Ate well, except I didn't get enough calories! Did my 30 Day Shred DVD, SSB video this morning and the QuickFire Challenge!
I'm sort of leary of adding carbs to my breakfast or lunch because then I have a tendency to over do them. I will try to get in more calories tomorrow.
I have a treadmill test at my MD's in the morning. No reason, just to get an idea of how much I can raise my heart rate. Thu, 7 May 2009 23:13:14 EST Glad today is over Didn't sleep well last night. Ate all the wrong foods. Didn't do my QuickFire challenge. I did do my Sweatsuit to Swimsuit Bootcamp challenge. I was hardly on Sparkpeople today. Just a bad day. Tomorrow is Another Day. I WIll be better! (for me, not anyone else!) Wed, 6 May 2009 22:45:41 EST Pete's leaving for Iraq tonight... This is Pete, my son, who is a Sgt. in the Army. He's leaving for Iraq tonight and it's breaking my heart. He'll be gone for one year, so far..the Army has a tendency to keep them longer. All I can do is put him in God's hands and keep him in prayer.
Exercise will help keep me in balance. Prayer will keep me from feeling lost.
652 Tue, 5 May 2009 22:34:44 EST 1st day of Bootcamp I'm doing the bootcamp because I want to start exercising in the morning and this would fit into my morning routine.

My scale hasn't changed I'm still at 144 lbs. The good news is that my waist measurement is at 33 3/4 inches. What a surprise that was!! I had to measure my waist 3 more times just to be sure.
My arm measurement is 11 inches, my hips are at 38 inches and my thigh is 19 inches.

I'm also doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred and just started level 3. It... Sun, 3 May 2009 21:47:01 EST Back on Line; End of week 1 I'm back! We had no phone, cable or internet for a full week! I've been following South Beach fairly well. I did have a few cocktails though. Exercise has been good also.
I did my stats on Sunday, april 5th.
Weight........149
Bust.............35 1/2
Waist............38
Hips...............37 1/2
Thigh............19 3/4
Arm...............11
Calf...............Forgot this one!

I will do this again this Sunday morning...

Fri, 10 Apr 2009 21:39:39 EST Day 4 Day 4 of the Flat Belly diet is over. It really is more anti-bloat, very easy on the digestive system. The "Sassy water" they have you drink is fine but 4 days of it got to be too much. I'm looking forward to South Beach. My husband and I did it several years ago and we both did quite well on it.

As far as drinking all that water, I try to drink 64 to 80 ozs per day. I also include the veggie juice as part of my fluids and my coffee. Although with the coffee I only count 1/2 of it... Wed, 1 Apr 2009 23:16:51 EST Day 3 So far so good. This is making me realize (again!) what real hunger is and just wanting to have a snack because I "feel" hungry. Tomorrow is my last day on this part of my plan and Thursday I will start the South Beach Diet. Tue, 31 Mar 2009 22:44:09 EST Day 2 Back to work and it was harder today because I eat at my desk all the time. Mostly healthy stuff except for a Hershey Bar w/almonds or 3 chocolate chip cookies. I'm eating when I get anxious and today I noticed that I wasn't hungry, I just thought I was!!

My husband and I mowed the yard tonight. I was out there for about 30 minutes or so. Then I came in and ran on the treadmill. I was on it for 15 minutes and did 1.2 miles. Not bad for an old girl. Next I want to run for 2 miles! Mon, 30 Mar 2009 22:45:45 EST End of Day 1 Day went well. I never did get hungry, in fact I stayed full most of the day.

I also started Level 2 of Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. I stared out with lighter weights than I normally use so that I could get used to the routine. I'm glad I did, it was definitely a step up from Level 1. I will probably go up to heavier weights by the third day of Level 2. Sun, 29 Mar 2009 23:17:09 EST Day 1 Stats Here Comes the Ugly Truth!

Weight: 153 lbs

Bust: 43"

Waist: 36.5"

Hips: 39"

Upper Arm: 11"

Thigh: 20"

Calf: 14"

I logged my first meal and am completely shocked at the amount of calories. I am feeling stuffed right now.

As you can see, my waist measurement is not at all in proportion... Sun, 29 Mar 2009 11:17:33 EST Changing My Diet Tomorrow, Sunday 3/29/09, I am going to start a regimented diet. I'm exercising regularly now (with the exception of injury or illness). However my weight has not changed at all! It probably has to so with a few things, 1) I'm on HRT and I can tell they have wrecked havoc on my system, 2) I drink too much alcohol when we go out and 3) I really do not get enough sleep during the week.

So tomorrow I will do the first four days of the "Flat Belly Diet" (Prevention) and then move on to... Sat, 28 Mar 2009 23:39:46 EST Week 4 Bonus Challenge I really like the work outs. They are just challenging enough so that I'm able to tell that they are getting easier each time. I'll also include them in my work outs after the Bootcamp is over.

I have written down my food, but still have to log the last two days. This is an improvement for me, since I find it difficult to write it all down when I eat. I'm unable to access most sites on my computer at work so I have to log it all in at night.

I'm looking forward to seein... Thu, 22 Jan 2009 22:10:21 EST New You Boot Camp Week 3 Made it through week 2 just fine. My weight is not going down but I have a tendancy to lose weight all of a sudden, Hopefully next week my weight will follow. I'm also going to try harder to log what I eat and bring healthy snacks to work.

1) Motivation better this week. Going strong!

2) B/P 125/84

3) Waist measured at 35.25
291 Sun, 18 Jan 2009 21:48:07 EST New You Boot Camp Week 2 Week one has gone by and I am happy with my progress. I had a slight problem with my motivation on Saturday. I wasn't just the exercise it was everything else too. All I wanted to do was sit and read or nap! Forced myself onto the treadmill and once I got going it was OK, then did the video.

1) Motivation OK, could have been better!

2) B/P 127/82

3) Waist measured at 35.5

Let's go Week 2!!!

182 Mon, 12 Jan 2009 22:30:32 EST New You Boot camp Challenge Coach Nicole would like us to begin the Challenge with a blog entry...So here goes! To start I have to go to the end first, I will be 54 on 1/29/09. I know that 54 is just a number, my real age is really based on how healthy I am, how I feel and how I look and act. For most of my adult life I have battled 25-50 pounds, the just come and go almost as they please. I have found through the years that no matter how much I may diet (hate that term) if I don't exercise I just won't lose what I wan... Sun, 4 Jan 2009 20:53:51 EST
