To anyone who is thinking of taking a break and taking their foot off the gas for a while, my advice is have a SHORT break and a re-start date in mind BEFORE you slack off, and a good friend who will kick your ass back in gear leading up to that date! I had the friend, but not the date LOL! Plan for this, people!

I last tracked my food on Oct. 24th, so my little break was about 5 weeks off tracking. Sorry I haven't popped in til now, but I know you will understand things have been rough here. My block and neighborhood actually HAVE power, but as I was chatting on webcam to a friend in Finland and showing him the storm live, a MASSIVE old tree in my front yard went down and his last image of me was a frightened face and me saying OH SH*T! ( I texted I was ok but he didn't get it, and I mailed him the next day when I found someone who had power and wifi).

Anyway, si... I had a lot going on in my life. My sons went off to college, leaving me feeling temporarily bereft, and I don't like sharing misery. But they settled in nicely, they've kept in touch and even phoned (without prompting), and I'm happy they are loving college and life. And now, I need to get one of my own. Wed, 5 Sep 2012 12:27:54 EST My Babies Are Gone http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5036259 My sons left for college an hour ago. I was fine in front of them apart from one teary hug with my older son about 45 minutes before they left. I only cried after they'd pulled away, and somehow managed to pull out of it in under 10 minutes. I didn't want to look like an alien for a few days, all puffy-eyed and such. To help myself stop crying, I'd vowed to bring some potted impatiens from the backyard to plant in the 20" pot on my front stoop, to replace what squirrels killed. Not sure ... I also got a call from a girl who runs a darts team out of the place where I left my number back in May, when they were already 2 weeks into the season at the time I inquired about openings. My new captain's name is Tina and she offered me 2 leagues, one a very laid back Tuesday night league in which you play 3, possibly 4 games a night, or... But first, I get the joy of another root canal, on the tooth next to the first one. I came out of the oral surgeon's office today feeling very light-headed. I used the electric trimmer and cut down 1 small and 3 massive grass clumps in the pool area and trimmed the hedge of burning bushes behind the diving board. I feel like I'm on a roll now!

*** HAHAHAH! Not. Next month then.

2) Complete a goals list in the next 2 days for a project Kent is helping me with

*** Done, done and done again! I have actually completed many goals lists thanks to the Tree Killers and I have another little project to add to my growing list as well. I kind of wish I didn't have so many "challenges" (yep, that's what I'm going to call them LOL!), but I do and... Sat, 30 Jun 2012 16:47:34 EST Busy, Busy, Busy! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4947031 Where did the week go? Probably the way of my blog streak, but hey, I've been super busy! I have been measuring, calculating, sketching, taking pics and video, visiting nurseries, researching things online, and enjoying the pretty pictures Kent makes for me adding thujas/arborvitae into pics he had from B.M. (before the Massacre). Here is one sample of his beautiful work, wherein the giant shrub is a bit symbolic (LMAO!):

<img src="http://photos-ak.sparkpeople.com/nw/7/8/l78814... I have been quite bedise myself and fighting it for 8 days since my ahole neighbours decided cutting the lower 15 or so feet of branches off a 30+ year privacy barrier in their yard would be a good idea.

IT'S

FRIGGIN'

NOT!!!!!!!!!!!

DUMBASSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been ho... Wed, 27 Jun 2012 00:00:30 EST Thunderstorms Galore! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4942495 I lost cable tv and internet service this evening and it was so BORING! LOL! I did some extra work on my project despite my head still spinning a bit from tons of counting and math. I don't enjoy doing a lot of math but it's a necessary evil.

I had service 2.5 hours later which I suppose isn't terrible but initially, they told me they'd send someone over on Wed. and I was like, "Sorry, but that is completely unaccceptable. I'm up late at night so tonight would be best." LOL! ... Mon, 25 Jun 2012 23:35:25 EST Sunday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4940602 Aunt Flo arrived a day early and the good news is my weight hadn't really increased beforehand! Granted, I gained back 2 pounds I thought I'd lost (or weighed in dehydrated, possibly? over a week ago, days after recording the loss), but if I lose the usual 5-6 of bloat, I should be below where I was by 2-3 pounds. Guess I'll find out next week.

I don't seem to be able to swim without someone from behind my fence smoking and having it blow in my face. It hasn't mattered what time... Sat, 23 Jun 2012 16:40:32 EST Graduation http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4938268 As many of us who had to suffer through graduation two years ago hoped, it poured and thunderstorms hit on and off all afternoon! 244 We wanted this because so many people felt sick from the heat we experienced sitting in the burning sun on the high school's track and field bleachers. This year, it would have been even hotter (pre-storms) after 2 days of record breaking heat here in NY and on Long Island, with temps hitting 95F and the heat index at 100F. 198
<B...
