What is there to say? I am trying not to use the words "epic fail," but that would about sum it up. I finished the first 8 minute run and figured the second 8 would be easy now that I had completed the initial round; of course, that was not to be. My second run went something like run 3 minutes, stop for about 30 seconds, run 3 minutes, walk for 2 minutes, run 3 minutes, walk/hobble home (I estimated these times based on the music on my ipod). I wasn't in pain, but I... Sun, 4 Jul 2010 12:06:08 EST Vacation http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3382751 Eating healthy and staying properly hydrated while traveling is quite the challenge. I planned extensively for last week’s trip and packed plenty of healthy snacks, but I did not stay on track as much as I had hoped. Still, I feel it was far from failure and I had a wonderful time, so I am considering it a good trip.

I did keep up with the C25K running program. I ran all three days of week 4 and I really enjoyed the change of scenery offered by running city streets as opposed to... Tue, 29 Jun 2010 13:53:55 EST C25K http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3302498 The C25K running program is working wonderfully for me! I am surprised at how much I like running! I hope to keep this momentum going.

312 311 312 311 312 311 312 311 Sat, 5 Jun 2010 07:40:38 EST We're worth it! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3300504 I have mostly moved into the “maintenance” phase. I may lose about 10 more pounds, but at this point I know that weight will come off much more slowly than my previous weight loss. Honestly, if I weigh as much this time next year as I do today I will be very pleased.

I am finding that maintenance is a constant struggle with numerous ups and downs. Perhaps losing huge amounts of weight was enough to motivate me before, while now, I struggle all the time to keep my eye on the pri... Fri, 4 Jun 2010 13:20:07 EST Day2, Wk 1 C25K http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3269401 Today was difficult. Day 2 of the C25K was harder than Day 1. I hope it gets easier. I hope I get stronger.

Last night while the family made sundaes, I ate this...

Fake Out Sundae

1/2 Frozen banana
1/4 cup vanilla yogurt
5 ice cubes

Fake Out Chocolate Syrup

1 TBS unsweetened Cocoa powder
1 tsp Stevia or other sweetener
Enough water to make into a syrup

Add banana, yogurt and ice to food processor or blend... Wed, 26 May 2010 09:27:16 EST Sweet! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3266852 Life is pretty sweet right now! Finals are finished and my Achilles tendon lets me know it exists sometimes, but mostly seems healed. Yesterday was the first day of the first week of my C25K running program and all went well.

When I began losing weight I did so because my doctor was going to put me on medication to control my cholesterol. I requested that she give me a few months to lose weight and control my cholesterol myself, and she hesitantly did so. I figured I would lose... Tue, 25 May 2010 14:08:18 EST Spice Cake in a Coffee Mug http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3253141 This is quick and easy. The cake is somewhat dense, but it is tasty for a snack. This morning, it's what's for breakfast.

Spice Cake in a Mug

2 TBS Whole Wheat Flour
2 TBS raw, whole oats
1/8 tsp Baking Powder
3 TBS Stevia or other sweetener
1 1/2 TBS Cinnamon
1/2 TBS Nutmeg
2 TBS egg whites
3 TBS Skim Milk or water
2 TBS Canned Pumpkin (original recipe calls for applesauce)
Splash of pure vanilla (optional)

Add d... Fri, 21 May 2010 09:16:29 EST Creative Avoidance http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3249531 I suspect that I am blogging to avoid writing term papers. Still, I cannot wait to put these classes away.

I have not started exercising the way I usually do, but I am ready to begin next week focusing on fitness. My body feels stronger now. I am eating well and feeling rested. I don’t think I realized how worn out I had become. When I begin exercising again, I don’t think I will try to do a full hour every day. I was exercising so much that I was hungry all the time. I th... Thu, 20 May 2010 09:33:30 EST Victory? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3245848 I am a bit disappointed in myself, but I am trying to stay positive and focus on the good choices that I am making. This all began last week…

Last Tuesday was my last normal, hour-long workout. At some point around Monday or Tuesday my Achilles tendon began hurting. There are pains that I can work through, but I also want to respect my body and this pain was not the sort to just work out. I tried walking Wednesday and ended up crying around the end of the second mile due to pai... Wed, 19 May 2010 09:53:11 EST
