Still. But not as much as I was. Which I'm thankful for.

For me, exercise has never been the big issue. I like to exercise. Usually. Lately? Not so much. I think I am searching for the fun again.

So, in search of fun, I signed up for adult swim lessons. Yep, me. And while I was excited, I quickly got discouraged because my class is full of kids. As in 20 yr old kids. Who are afraid of the water. So I'm still go... Tue, 21 Jul 2015 11:36:16 EST New PR today 5-4-15! Trapbar deadlift at 335# - a new PR! Tue, 5 May 2015 03:18:49 EST Body Fat Test Results On Wednesday they had a health fair at my work. One of the things they offered was a dunk tank to measure your body fat. This is something I've always wanted to do, but could never justify the expense. But they were offering a substantial discount, so I signed up.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Body fat testing is not equivalent to weight loss. Body fat testing measures how much of your total body weight is composed of fat. Body fat takes up much more room than lean muscle. So while a poun... Those of you who have been here for the long haul know that I've finally found success with a new nutrition plan and working my tushy off in the gym.

About a month ago I felt a twinge in my right arm, and attributed it to overwork on the computer. The twinge kept getting worse, and pain started to work it's way up my arm, into my elbow, upper arm, and landing in my shoulder and neck.

This situation didn't impede my lifting at the gym, or any of my workouts - it wasn't b... Mon, 16 Jun 2014 21:10:46 EST Memorial Day, 2014 Today I remember my two grandfathers - both served lifetime careers in the Army. Both saw combat. Fortunately for me, they both survived the wars they served in. I got to know them as a little girl (and thought the world revolved around them), as a teenager (when I thought they were "boring") and for a short time, as an adult (when I truly learned to appreciate them).

Both have passed on, hopefully to greater things depending upon one's beliefs, but I still remember them with p... Last Friday I was working out at the gym at the college - this gym is full of 18-25 yr olds, usually young men, who are working to get (ok, STAY) "buff" and (most) have an ego to match their accomplishments in the gym. No one really pays attention to a middle aged woman in the gym, unless it's to look annoyed because I'm using a piece of equipment they need.

I was sitting on a bench, finished with my workout, drenched in sweat, packing my things. Today is the end of week one on my new nutrition plan.

Background -

I meet with Trainer #7 (see previous blog) and we went over my nutrition. Big surprise, I wasn't eating enough calories (sarcasm- insert eye roll here) and those that I did consume were crappy from a nutritional standpoint for my goals. That surprised me - I thought I made fairly good choices, but apparently I made choices that were crappy for what I want to accomplish. I have been talking about goi... Sat, 3 May 2014 13:28:20 EST End of the Leprechaun - and bring on the Sailor So my last workout with Trainer #13 - aka the leprechaun - was on April 7th. We both didn't know it was going to be the last day, however, so we had a standard workout - and it was good.

The next day, April 8th, Head Trainer Guy called me and said he had a new trainer for me - and that we would meet on Thursday, April 10th.
