I signed up for my first 5k race at my daughter's school where the proceeds go to scholarships. This is my first official race, I do the SP virtual races every so often. I used the weekend as a small break. I did exercise Friday night, Sunday morning and Monday night. I want to keep up with my c25k. I started week 6. Not so bad. Tue, 21 Aug 2012 10:10:30 EST 8/17/2012-Still going strong I have been at this for about 15 weeks. I have lost 24 pounds and I have about 14 more pounds to go. I found that I can still eat what I want, within reason. I have found that something have good substitutes. Instead of Dairy Queen blizzards I have a reduced fat ice cream cone from McDonalds. Wednesday I felt a slight headache and really had to talk myself into doing it. Did it with no problem. Forgot about the headache and started doing my normal routine. Did the half hour routine in less than 2 miles so I walked to the 2 mile marker and then turned around and walked back. I think it is because running/ walking intervals I do with my couch to 5k training isn't burning the calories like the elliptical did. I have lost 19 pounds. I went from a tight 12 to a loose 10. I could have done better but I have gained 2 pounds back at vacation and some weekends put me at a stand still. I had put on 2 lb. but I lost it and one more which puts me down 17 pounds. I took a walk on the walking trial yesterday. I have been trying to do the 5k your way program that trains you on running. I didn't do so well because of the heat. I was soaked after my 3 mile walk. I even waited until 7:30 p.m. to go out. When I was done I guzzled down 16oz of water and still felt thirsty. Tue, 19 Jun 2012 07:44:23 EST 6/12/2012 WOW! The scale is rapidly moving now. I was told that it takes a good 6-8 weeks for your body to get used to the calorie change before you loose the weight. I have more energy. I even have my 17 year old daughter walking 3 miles with me 3x a week. It is also a good chat time. The kids have been good about trying the recipes I have cooked from SP.
