Thu, 30 May 2013 11:43:46 EST Last year http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5189837 Well, last year was eventful. I was tired of my skin tight clothes and avoiding mirrors so I made some changes. I started by changing my eating habbits. I replaced my morning Pop tarts with oatmeal and my frozen lunches, I replaced with a salad. I was looking for low calorie and low fat recipes and stumbled upon Sparkpeople. After joining and spending my free time on the SP site, I learned I was missing out on my protein intake and what goal nutrients I should aim for. This has been a very us... I have been busy getting the house ready for the family holiday party. Never have enough time. I even stunk at my nutrition. For the most part I stick to it. It seems though that there is someone telling me Merry Christmas every day and handing me baked goods. I have not gained or lost weight which is a small accomplishment. <BR> <BR> This week I ran 3.5M on Monday and that was the extent of it. Will be... I am trying to get them through college without any loans or without digging into their inheritence from their father. This makes money tight at times. When I started this weight loss journey I found a love for running. As the fall grew near I started going to garage sales to look for a treadmill. I had no luck. I traveled this week so I varied from the goals. Luckily the hotel had a fitness center. I wished the remnants from Hurricane Sandy wasn't in Chicago because I would have loved to run the streets of Chicago for a workout. I did stick to my nutrition plan and lost 2 pounds. I tried a new spark recipe, sweet potato black bean burrito. It was very good, a new favorite. It kept me full for a good amount of time. I haven't been getting my water on the weekends but it is easy to drink it through the week with a 32oz bottle I keep filled up on my desk. I lose a pound and gain 2 back. This weekend I got down to 147 pounds and then gained 3 back to 150 pounds again. AAAHHH! I do stick to my usual nutrition that I preplan but lately there has been a lot of weddings I have went to and had a piece of cake and a few glasses of wine. I used the weekend as a small break. I did exercise Friday night, Sunday morning and Monday night. I want to keep up with my c25k. I started week 6. Not so bad. The 20 minute run in week 5 was a challenge, but I did it. The yoga does help keep the muscles from feeling as tired. I seem to be missing my sweets, especially my pop tarts. I am hoping it will pass. I am not sure if it is a thing of knowing I can't have it or if my body is just craving the sweets and salt. No appetite and really, really tired with a headache. I have kept up on my c25k running but haven't cross trained on the off days. I have made myself eat to make sure I atleast have something on my stomach. I actually lost 3 lbs in 3 days but gained 1 back today because the only thing i could eat yesterday was ice cream. Wednesday I felt a slight headache and really had to talk myself into doing it. Did it with no problem. Forgot about the headache and started doing my normal routine. Did the half hour routine in less than 2 miles so I walked to the 2 mile marker and then turned around and walked back. Starting this week I am going to do the elliptical in the mornings that I don't run. The days I run I will start stretching and exercising and yes....starting my kettlebells. I went from a tight 12 to a loose 10. I could have done better but I have gained 2 pounds back at vacation and some weekends put me at a stand still. It took me a while to figure out the nutrition to where I was hitting my goals. When I started I could not even ride the elliptical but for 10 minutes and it wore me out. I didn't do so well because of the heat. I was soaked after my 3 mile walk. I even waited until 7:30 p.m. to go out. When I was done I guzzled down 16oz of water and still felt thirsty. I went partying with friends and had a few margaritas Friday night. I have felt bloated every sense. I even gained 2 pounds, but I think that was from the bloating. Not sure if I am going to win because there is some heavy people enetered and I think it might be a bigger difference for them if they can stick to a plan. I am excited about my weight loss so far. I still have 24 lbs to go though. Fri, 22 Jun 2012 08:25:17 EST 6/19/2012 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4932656 WEW! I had been offline for a few days. My kids father passed away and I spent all my time with them. I didn't gain weight though. In fact I figure I will loose some more after I get back into the routine. Sense I didn't log all my food I just ate the protein. Been walking alot with the kids. They seem to like that. Walking the nature trails seems to help the soul and make things peaceful. I was told that it takes a good 6-8 weeks for your body to get used to the calorie change before you loose the weight. I have more energy. I even have my 17 year old daughter walking 3 miles with me 3x a week. It is also a good chat time. The kids have been good about trying the recipes I have cooked from SP. I am going to add 10 minutes to it to see what happens. I need to be more consistant on my kettlebell lin the mornings. I am getting alittle more patient now that I am seeing results. I care more about what I think makes me comfortable instead of the scale, but I just can't get away from that darn scale. I have noticed a big difference in my skin looking softer after I started drinking the water. Today was the first ... I got to keep reminding myself that I didn't put it on overnight. I have lost 5 lbs sense I started SP and 8 lbs over all. Weekends are really hard for following the nutrition. I can double up on exercise though. I only do 30 minutes of elliptical a day. I am wondering what to add to it or just increase it. I need to get more consistant with my kettlebells. My energy level is a lot better and I have noticed that my tummy doesn't look as bloated. I can tell how my clothes fit different. The scale still says I haven't lost weight though. I have been riding the elliptical trainer for 30 minutes a day starting Friday. I hope this makes a ... Mon, 14 May 2012 11:05:33 EST
