It was SO HARD! I chose the Whitemud stairs which meant 261 steps. I went up only 3 times, and the last time I was just walking but I could still feel my quads burn! I've decided to do them at least twice a week and one day I'll be able to run all the way up without stopping!

So today: 261 X 3 = 783 going up, 783 going down, = Total of 1,566 steps.

I think I did it in about 25 or 30 minutes but next time I'll time myself. I think I'll... Mon, 17 Jun 2013 22:29:41 EST No new progress yet http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5384544 I'm not too bummed out about having no progress just yet, I know these things take time. I went for a run outside on Saturday (since I've just been doing the treadmill at lunch), and I wanted to see if I could do a 5k yet. Nope, not yet but I know I'll get there eventually. I have the Color Me Rad run in July so I still have three weeks to train and try and finish in 30min.

I'm lifting about 3-4X a week doing an Anterior/Posterior kind of split. I'm hoping the lunges and squats he... Mon, 10 Jun 2013 12:38:19 EST Where did the time go? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5369344 The last couple months have gone by in a blur! School was hard, but I pulled off my 4.0 GPA so I'm super proud of myself and happy to have the next couple months off! Sadly, with school I kind of let myself get off track with eating and working out. I'm back at 155 lbs, although it's a different 155 than my starting weight. I still have more muscle but also my jeans are getting pretty tight. =( Not happy! I've almost completely given up running and that really makes me sad. I used to be so go... Between studying, friends, family and the boyfriend, I have like zero time to be on Spark people anymore. Its kinda sad! I miss talking to everyone!

I'm proud to say though that even though I haven't been tracking my food or making it to the gym regularly I've still been watching what I eat and I'm at 151lbs still. (Yay!) It means I'm still doing something right!

I quit my gym yesterday. I don't have time to go to that one anymore, it's to... Tue, 18 Sep 2012 20:17:56 EST Progress Pics for August http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5031817 I weighed myself at the gym today and I'm at 151 !!! WOOO! This is exciting! Only ten more pounds to go! I've hardly done any cardio except maybe 20 minutes once a week on the treadmill or a 5 minute warm up. I've been focusing mainly on strength and eating properly. I've toned up quite a bit! When I was at my lowest last year at around 142 ish, I still wasn't happy with my body and I started to gain weight back. Cardio helped me lose weight but strength training has helped me get the body I'... Sun, 26 Aug 2012 14:44:36 EST Summer is wrapping up http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5028274 I had the most AMAZING time at Shambahla in Salmo, BC two weeks ago! It's this giant outdoor rave/music festival that goes on for 4 days and it was just such a fun, new experience! I'm definitely going next year.

Since I got back I've been going to the gym, still doing my workout splits between legs and upper body. Today was Back, Biceps, and Shoulders. I'm trying to get that nice muscle line that runs down the shoulder and across the upper arm. I think it looks sexy! So doing lot... Thu, 23 Aug 2012 18:04:54 EST Everything's coming together =) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4996285 So last Thursday Harley and I went on a date to get our palms read and to try the food festival that was going on. The initial plan was to try the deep fried pickles but once we got there, there were soooo many choices and we completely forgot haha. The green onion cake was sooo yummy though, and I got him to try the vegan "chicken" strips, which were also really good. Because the palm reading place and the event were both downtown, we walked the couple blocks in between. Honestly, it was the... Wed, 1 Aug 2012 11:46:48 EST Let Myself Induldge http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4986309 Well, last weekend was fun! I didn't think about tracking calories at all, I just let myself enjoy the fair and all the fun yummy foods that come with it. But let's start with Friday night. I went long boarding with Mark for two hours, and we pretty much talked the entire time. Even when we took a short break to sit in the park, we just never ran out of things to say. It was actually really nice, I enjoyed it a lot. It's too bad that he's gone to BC for two weeks now and when he gets back I'l... Wed, 25 Jul 2012 12:19:58 EST Dating, Weight, & Weights http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4979245 I've been going to the gym pretty much every lunch hour and doing my weight training, but cardio has seriously taken a hit. I hardly do it at all anymore. It started with me giving my leg time to heal from running and I think I just fell out of habit with it. So I'm trying to work that back in. Not that cutting out cardio has been THAT detrimental. I'm still around 155 and my clothes are fitting the same. Strength training has been pretty effective! I think this lunch hour I'm going to try bi... Fri, 20 Jul 2012 12:47:34 EST This crazy heat! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4963216 It is almost eleven at night and the low for tonight is 20 degrees celsius. Even my open window does little to cool me down! It was about 37 all day, I thought I was going to melt. Don't take this as complaining, I love this kind of weather! I much rather this than our minus 40 winters!

Anyway, enough about that, I want to make a quick progress blog. I've been sticking to my weight training during the week, I go every lunch hour. I usually split my days between back and chest, leg... I had a goal to beat my last years race time, but then my teammate ended up messing his ankle up in soccer and was told he could walk the 10k, but not run it. So I wasn't going to leave him behind so I decided to walk with him. It was so nice out, such a nice way to spend the evening! We even got dressed up in animal print. Sun, 17 Jun 2012 19:12:16 EST Lifting weights pushed me past my plateau http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4922061 Since I cut back on cardio (like waaaaaaay cut back!!) and started lifting more in the gym, I've noticed my weight has dropped. I went from 160 to 153 in only a few weeks, and even though I'm still higher than the 140 I was at a few years ago, I look WAY better. All the running I was doing helped me lose weight, but I still had fat. I was skinny fat. Now I can see my muscles while working out in the gym and they look good! I was stuck near 158/160 for so long, it was amazing to see that after... Mon, 11 Jun 2012 17:41:42 EST Weight went down..... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4913488 It seems like my weight finally caught up to how I looked haha. After posting my "160 lbs" blog, I thought I was gaining muscle and that maybe I was meant to be "heavier" even though I looked toned. Well I weighed myself at the gym at lunch and I'm at 153 now! My first goal weight! I was pretty surprised, but also happy. It's not like the weight matters much anymore, but I'm stoked cuz now I can have my first reward; a new workout piece.

I ran for 30 minutes at lunch today, and af... I mean, there was some awkwardness, but not as much as I was expecting and my nerves finally calmed down. We ended up going to see the Avengers since it was a week night and I'd eaten supper. Thu, 31 May 2012 11:34:42 EST Maybe some judgement free advice?? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4902801 So, putting fitness aside for a moment, I need to write about some personal stuff. I've got too many thoughts flying around my brain, keeping me up at night. So I'm going to try and sort it all out here...

Where to start? Well, It's been about a month since Tynan and I broke up. I haven't really thought about any one else, or really put myself out there because honestly, I don't want to date at all right now. I also couldn't help but to try out my new longboard this weekend, which didn't exactly help the shin splints but I was too excited not to do it! I've been icing my leg a lot though and I think it's helping. I also have an acupuncture appointment on Friday for my calves. Acupuncture helped my IT band sooo much, I'm eager to finally be rid of my tight calf muscles.

So I was following Courtney Prathers fitness pl... OBSTACLE! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4886087 So I'm pretty freakin discouraged right now. I'm not looking for sympathy, I just need to express myself because I feel like I could punch a wall right now. It always seems that every time I'm making progress, or gains or doing well in my running/fitness/weight loss journey, there's some twist of fate and all of a sudden I'm a few hundred steps behind again.

I have shin splints. It's really awesome, because I can tell she's sooo much happier leading boxing and fitness classes than when she managed Bootlegger and Le Chateau. Tue, 8 May 2012 10:32:32 EST Reflection of Self, changes, sad.... mix of things http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4863009 Last Thursday my boyfriend of over four years, Tynan, and I broke up. For the last week I've felt like a zombie...kind of numb, but mostly I'm just really sad. We started going out when we were barely 18, but we've known each other all our lives. The thing is, when you're 18, you have no clue who you are and you're still growing and learning things about the world, other people, and mostly yourself. Our twenties are a time of discovery and change, where we decide what road we want to take in ... Wed, 2 May 2012 12:03:47 EST new program http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4832470 Found a new program on bodybuilding.com that I'm going to follow for the next 12 weeks. I just did the legs/butt workout today and I'm already so sore! It doesn't help that my throat hurts and I've been stuffed up and coughing like mad. I'm going to chill tonight and drink some neocitrin and go to bed early.

Tomorrow I'm hoping I'll be ready to tackle day two which is a pull day, so it's exercises that use pull motions. Sooo excited to show you guys! I think what I noticed first were my ARMS...they look so toned, I'm so proud of my arms lol. I'm not very happy with my stomach I think I could have done a better job at getting that more toned/flatter. For the last 2 weeks we've been allowed to attended any number of other classes at the boxing club that we want. This morning I went to 10am boxing and then had my training session at 11. We did Tabata intervals, which are basically 20 or 30 seconds of exercises, as many as you can, with 10 or 20 seconds of rest. This is the second time we've done this workout and I ANNIHILATED my previous scores! Although... I'm also eating a lot of tuna and other fish. I have a really simple tuna recipe: add a bunch of curry to it and 1/2 spoon of dijon mustard and a spoonful of greek yogurt. mix it all up and YUM! I eat it as an after workout snack.

Today I pulled out one of my old workouts from two yea... It's part of my 12 weeks of fitness I've been doing with my personal trainer and friend Bobbi. It's extra motivation to eat well and stay on track so that I have the body I want for this photo shoot. I have 3 weeks to really buckle down and do this!!! I'm excited for it and I can't wait to put my Before and Afters up! Mon, 5 Mar 2012 19:37:13 EST Sorry I've been so absent http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4736618 I haven't really been in the "spark mood" you could say. I've only come on the site recently to track some food but even then, it's been pretty half a--. I guess I just really needed a break from everything and I needed to concentrate on my school and running. Ever since I took almost two months off of running I've been feeling pretty down and depressed. I did a lot of physio for my calf, but it seems it's still pretty tight. I don't know what's up with my feet! =(

So I'm sorry I h... Feel free to ignore haha.

So my friends and I are planning a snowboarding trip to Montana in February. We talked about for half the year and up until September NO ONE had taken the initiative to book a hotel room and get money from everyone. (there's 8 of us going). So I finally decided I would call everyone and start gathering money for the trip then once I had everyone's money I would book the hotel. A... Well, at least we can finally say goodbye to the creepy, hairy creatures growing on the upper lips of movember-men everywhere. I don't know about anyone else, my boyfriend's stache was getting out of control! lol!

I've been MAJORLY slacking in making time for the gym, or even just getting myself there when I have time. Fri, 2 Dec 2011 12:43:54 EST End of Round 3 (Sports Bra Sparkies) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4594509 I managed to lose about 1 pound, but I've gained a bit more muscle as well. Overall this round was pretty successful, I think I'm going to keep going with jillian's 6w6p DVD and see where I can get, then maybe I'll move onto something else. The lighting in my room really sucks so sometimes the pics turn out orange-ish. Anyway, here are the progress pics:

The very first week:

Week 6:
<img src="http://... Mon, 21 Nov 2011 20:48:05 EST Goal Outfit! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4584456 Next week I'm going to see Cosmic Gate (second time, I love their music!) so I bought myself a goal outfit to wear. It already fits but I can't wear it with the black jeans I want because it gives me a muffin top and also it would just fit a lot better if I lost five pounds. So this is my motivation to get to work, do 6W6P every day (even after round 3 is over!) and to stay within my calorie limit. I got the body suit from American Apparel, and here it is featured on the lovely megan fox: <BR... I didn't exactly stick to my workout schedule either, I've started picking up more cardio and doing less weights so I need to get back into the lifting again! I just love running so much I get to the gym and just want to put my ear buds in and run and run and run.

Now that it's the last week of sports bra sparkies I'm going to try and do the 6W6P DVD EVERY DAY! Gotta go out with a bang! So here are week 5's photos... SO there's not much progress to be noted in the abs HOWEVER I did notice my waist is getting, I dunno the word for it...tighter? I made a TON of alterations, like adding the dangly string pieces and the corset-like back and pretty much everything. Before the costume was basically just a brown sheet lol. It was really tight when I ran so I made sure to stretch it more after my workout. I stopped running and tried biking and the elliptical instead, which was fine, there was no pain from doing those. I thought ok, it might be shin splints, or maybe I need to stretch and warm up/cool down better. I know what shin splints feels like, I've had that. I've also had IT band syndrome. I know what both of those feel like when running and this was... Thanks everyone for the congrats! Now that I'm out of the 150's I feel sooo much better and more motivated to keep going and lose more weight! (and tone up of course!). This week was actually a REALLY GOOD week. I drank over 8 glasses of water every day and stayed within my calorie range 5/7 days this week. I've been doing the bike for cardio, Jillian's DVDs and some serious strength training. Here are the pics:

LAST WEEK: 149 ... Sat, 22 Oct 2011 15:59:46 EST Squash Fail http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4544019 So I was really excited this week to try something new for dinner that I've never had before. I looked up a good spaghetti squash recipe on spark and found one that looked delicious! I had all the ingredients except the squash so I decided to make a trip to the grocery store. Well, I've never made anything with squash before so when I was looking at this big box filled with different shapes/colours/sizes of squash I just picked the one that looked most like a squash to me. Hahaha, well little... Wed, 19 Oct 2011 21:26:09 EST Week 1 Progress Pics http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4538438 As expected, there's really no change this week, although I feel stronger and I've been eating better I knew the pictures wouldn't show much progress this week. NEXT WEEK though, there will be a difference!!! There's only two weeks left until Halloween and I want to look sooo HOT!

Here's the before: 150 lbs

Here are the week one progress pics: 149 lbs
<img src="http://photos-ak.sparkpeople.com... Sun, 16 Oct 2011 18:43:08 EST Excited for progress pics!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4535853 I'm excited to see everyone's 6W6P progress pics on Sat/Sun!!!! (You better all post or I'll be a sad panda!) hehe. I don't think mine will show much difference but this first week has really helped me get on track with drinking water, exercising every day and eating right 80% of the time. I'm sure week 2 will be THE week for me, as I plan on being 148 by then. Yes...I will lose ONE WHOLE POUND! lol, it's gotta happen, I've been working waaaay to hard for it not to! So week one will be good b... Fri, 14 Oct 2011 18:52:14 EST Day 15 to 140 lbs http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4524745 Dyed my hair!!! Blue/Black, which is a colour I've done before but I love it! It hides the haircut that I so miserably loathe. And my tanks finally came from Thailand! I had ordered them off Etsy two weeks ago, so that's pretty fast shipping!

I'm sitting around 149 - 151. It changes every day. Not the progress I was hoping for, but I know I'm getting smaller and building lean muscle mass. I've been going back to my FORCE classes at the gym, and I can already feel myself getting st... Fri, 7 Oct 2011 21:04:51 EST Day 12 Countdown to 140 lbs http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4519250 I saw 149 on the scale yesterday, but this was after a really good workout and only a few pieces of toast. So I'm back to 150 again. I don't think I'll be able to lose ten pounds by Halloween, it's going to get harder and harder and nobody can safely lose that much in only a few weeks. I might have to accept that my body just doesn't want to budge right now! (SO FREAKIN FRUSTRATING!!) I'll keep working towards my goal of course, but I'm not going to let myself be too disappointed if I don't r... Tue, 4 Oct 2011 15:51:13 EST Day 7 of Halloween Countdown to 140 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4511139 It's been a weeeeeek! And I'm still the same freakin weight!! I should start taking measurements like really, this is just discouraging! But alas, I knew my body wouldn't change that quickly it never has and never will. I should probably try and refine my diet a bit more and try to eat less carbs, but damn it if they aren't delicious!

I did a 30 min run at lunch, then an hour long FORCE class at the gym. (A strength class). I even tried a bit of Zumba because it was the class rig... Thu, 29 Sep 2011 22:16:48 EST Sports Bra Sparkies round 3 and other thoughts. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4504962 Thank you everyone for the encouragement and support! It really pushes me to get off my butt and DO THIS! So thanks again =)

The weekend wasn't too bad, except for the pizza I had Saturday night after the bar, but then I ate super well on Sunday. I went for a 6km run Saturday as well and did A LOT of dancing that night! My poor feet have band-aids covering up some painful blisters. Heels+dancing=flip flops for a week!

Today I have almost every meal planned, except dinner... Mon, 26 Sep 2011 13:50:38 EST Halloween Countdown to 140!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4500576 For the next five weeks leading up to Halloween, I'm losing weight for vanity reasons. Yup, that's pretty much it haha. I'm going as Pocahontas, the costume I'm using shows my stomach and so I want to look so hot and feel so confident at the Halloween party I'm going to! (I would also like to add that I'm using a Pocahontas costume from ten years ago lol, thus saving me money, but it's too short now so I cut it in half to make a skirt & a top).

I want a flat/toned stomach that eve...
