We own our own business so it is a rare treat to be off especially during the work week. It is doubly awesome as it is a school day therefore no kids. I was able to sleep in and in doing so realized I am not getting enough sleep. After I woke up and had a nice breakfast I checked email.... My gym sent a note about the importance of sleep and weight loss. I've heard it before heck we all have heard it . I guess I just have dismissed it but now every... Thu, 30 Oct 2014 17:04:09 EST Workout inspiration http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5665117 I allow myself one to two skip or off days. Just knowing I can skip makes me feel less pressured. I also log my workouts so at the end of the week I can see if I beat my minutes or was at least equal. Plus knowing how many minutes I have yet to do motivates me to get out there and do stuff. If I don't go to the gym I find something to do like rake or take 40 trips upstairs with laundry I refuse to let myself off the hook Sat, 5 Apr 2014 15:01:22 EST Setting some Streaks http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5297333 So for the next week I want to:
Excercise at least 10 minutes a day
Eat a fruit or veggie at each meal so thats at least 3
Drink and track 8 8oz of water
Check in with my spark page at least once a day
No wine after 9:45 (I will be adjusting this time if I can make this streak)
Sat, 23 Mar 2013 15:08:41 EST Reflections of the last month and my kids somtimes surprise me http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5240787 Since the first of the year I have lost 7lbs. The spark coach has been really helpful. I had not really noticed a change myself other than on the scale but apparently others have. We went to dinner last friday at my favorite french restuarant and the owner who we know well both asked if I had been tanning or what I have done to make my hair and skin look so great. I was caught off guard and mumbled that I have started excercising and changed my diet habits. In short I made a life change. ... Wed, 6 Feb 2013 21:30:37 EST Excited about adding in extra veggies. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5205613 I went to the store yesterday after planning the dinner menu for the next 2 weeks. I took my oldest with me and had her read the shopping list to me as I grabbed what we needed. About halfay around the produce department for the second or third lap she asked if all we were shopping for was veggies. I said nope we need chicken and a few condiments. She asked about fruit but I reminded her that I already had bought a bunch of pre chopped fruit from Fred Meyers.

Emily just shrugged... Sun, 13 Jan 2013 20:17:09 EST Encourgement for others who are starting again.... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5202575 I've been thinking about the first time I started spark and when I fell off of it about a year later. We had many changes in that year... We bough a new house and moved so I was too busy for it.... (just another excuse).

However even though I quit sparking I kept of few of the habits I learned the first time around. Like eating breakfast before I joined spark I never ate breakfast except on saturday when I make pancakes, eggs, and bacon for the kids. Thanks to spark I stated ... Fri, 11 Jan 2013 18:31:02 EST A week ago today I rekindled the spark http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5196260 Day 7 and I'm still going strong. Getting the water down, taking my multi viatimin, doing more than 10 min of excercise... Which is amazing since I hated it and was not sure how I'd fit it in. Only still struggling with cutting the wine calories but I am slowly inching it down. I lost 2 pouns so far so that is something to clebrate. Hang in there fellow sparkers we can do it together. 381 Tue, 8 Jan 2013 03:02:28 EST Day 2 & I almost blew it. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5187154 Yesterday being January one seemed like the perfect day to rekindle my spark. I did so good all day yesterday. If I had only gone to bed at 10:30 with my hubby instead of readng a little bit longer I would have avoided the late night snack of toast and the rest of the bottle of wine in the fridge. Instead of letting this added snacks set me back I just added it into my yesterdays food count ( One of my goals is to track everything I eat and do it honestly) and start over fresh this morning.... Wed, 2 Jan 2013 22:23:55 EST A bad day that gave me some insight http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4914831 Yesterday started off so good. I had finally lost a pound and was on track for my weight loss goal after having had to spend a week getting back to that point. Then I went to work... We own a car repair business and yesterday was crazy busy and people were crabby. I think it is because the weather went from 70 to 40 and pouring rain. Got to love North Idaho weather. Crabby people make me crabby and I was cold and irritated by the weather too. My husband seeing I was crabby suggested ... Wed, 6 Jun 2012 13:42:15 EST A little over a year since I started Sparking. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4904788 It is hard to believe I've been sparking for over a year. I started off good and moved into stage 2. Then in August we went through the process of buying a much needed larger home. I guess they are right when they say moving is one of those stressful things. I did not think of it as stressful at the time as I was so excited to move. Looking back I see that I literally lost my spark. No tracking, lying to myself about how much I was eating/ drinking, not excercising. In fact the only th... Wed, 30 May 2012 18:57:28 EST Finally feeling better... Today is my kick off day... Lets do it. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4630288 I've had the flu/cold since Thanksgiving. I'm pretty sure I had strep throat at one point. The soar throat was a killer especially since I have four kids and talk on the phone/ or to customers all day long. Antibiotics was not kicking it but finally found a homeopathic website that suggested 1/4c apple cider vinegar in a 16oz glass topped off with hot/warm water. Garggle till you can't stand to gargle anymore. It was yucky but worked I finally have some energy. So today I'm going to deep ... Sun, 18 Dec 2011 15:03:56 EST Still too sick to get back on the excercise track. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4615583 I've been sick since the 31st of November. I so wanted a big kick off to my restart and here I am still sick. Soar throat mild fever, stuffy nose and so so tired. With four kids I have little time to be sick. Plus Hubby has been sick so it is really like having five kids. Work all day, cook, clean. The darn tree is not even up because I lack the motivation after working all day to do it. This weekend was so fun and now the work week is sucking it out of.

On the up side I p... Tue, 6 Dec 2011 22:12:01 EST What a wonderful weekend http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4612341 I know I got lots of excise in this weekend. Helped my super awesome hubby hang vinyl windows in all but three of the windows in our upstairs. Helping my hubby install the dishwasher. Yeah for no more handwashing dishes. With six people in our house it was becoming a real chore. This afternoon I tromped through a tree farm with our four darlings to pick the most perfect tree that we all agreed on. I'm super exacted because our new house has normal height ceilings & I got my way with the ext... Sun, 4 Dec 2011 20:38:52 EST Trying not to let the holiday crazies make me crazier... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4610898 It seems like this time of year everyone is so busy. With all the rush to get to Christmas I think we loose sight of what matters. For me it is spending time with those I love and care about. This year I am going to try and avoid having to go to the mall for christmas shopping. I wish I had got my shopping done earlier. I think if I do most of my shopping online and break it up into small shopping sprees I'll feel less stressed. I'm not going to let my compulsive have to have everything d... Sat, 3 Dec 2011 18:14:28 EST Plodding on after being semi defeated on my big restart http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4607003 Yesterday I was all systems go for my grand restart. Halfway through the day I started coming down with a cold. Today I feel yucky and unmotivated. I did manage to drink my eight glasses of water and ate healthy lunch and dinner. Yesterday I ate three healthy meals and drank my water. Unfortuanately this cold is making me unmotivated for doing any excercise. Hopefully I get over this one soon Thu, 1 Dec 2011 00:34:44 EST Starting over http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4604307 I had been doing very well with my spark plan and then in August we bought a new house and went through that whole process of getting financing, closing, and moving 16years worth of stuff. It was worth it but some where along the line I put my spark weightloss and other goals on the back burner. I don't think I could have handled the move and keeping up with my spark. I allowed myself to set it to the side without guilt. Now however we are fairly settled in and it is time to get back to i... Tue, 29 Nov 2011 11:36:10 EST Sparkers who feel like giving up hang in there. Even I Finally lost one pound http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4405564 Whew!!!!. I almost gave up but with many spark encouragers I have plodded on. I am on day five of meeting my water intake goal. I am finding it much easier to make good food choices. Now that I actually saw the scale move I am more motivated to keep up the good fight. I even plan on getting back to doing my 10 minutes of strength training. Keep plodding on my spark friends. 104 Wed, 3 Aug 2011 21:23:17 EST Peace created from taming of chaos http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4398827 My goal for the weekend was to clean and organize the main part of the house. I accomplished this... Mind you I have four kiddos oldest is 10, next 8, next 7 then 3. They went to a sitter so I got much done without new messes amen. I spent some quality time with the hubby we both needed this. I burned over 1500 cal cleaning that was the upside. I did not get meals planned and shopping done but I did drink 8 glasses of h20 and made healthy choices at every meal. PS. Im trying to decide I... Mon, 1 Aug 2011 02:56:51 EST Out of Chaos I will create peace. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4396252 This weekend I got a babysitter for the four munchkins with the plan to get things cleaned, organized and some time with hubby. I hope to get the house back into some sembelance of organization and I am going to create a schedule so I can pre plan some work out time. I am also going to plan the meals out for the week including lunch for me. I will let you know how it goes. But for now I have a messy house calling my name. Out of chaos I shall create peace. Sat, 30 Jul 2011 17:25:52 EST Wanting to get back on track but just not getting there. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4392977 So many stressful things going on right now and it is so hard to make the right food choices. Drink those 8 glasses of water and even workout for 10 minutes. Two nights ago my husband thinking he is helpful told me as I was pouring a glass of wine that wine after nine makes you have a big behind. GRRRR!!!! It made me mad and I followed it up with another glass of wine. Look out behind here comes some more wine. I need to find my motivation back. Thu, 28 Jul 2011 22:13:08 EST Regrouping http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4358955 Last night was a huge low. But with some perspective and well placed words from my aunt I will endevor on. I really feel like maybe Satan is out to get me. He is throwing in my face all my self doubts and using those closest to me to make it harder for me to meet my goals. So even though I worked all day and gave in and said we could just eat out tonight I am going to do my 10 minute work out right now. I want to do more but today I know I can suck it up for 10 minute so Coach Nicole ge... Tue, 12 Jul 2011 21:59:01 EST Tonight seems to be just to mutch... The story of me and other such things. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4356988 I sit here wanting to write and yet holding back. I have such a big story to tell and yet I feel so not worthy of telling. I want to loose about 10 to 15 pounds but greater than that I want to have energy to chase after my four kiddo's oldest is 10, then 8, then 7, then 3. Not all are biologically mine. The two oldest are mine and the two littlest my sisters. I piled on the weight well at least in terms for me. My highest weight was 178. Not huge in comparison to others very heroic st...
