Sun, 23 Jun 2013 13:52:03 EST April/ May - goals http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5348521 April's warmer days helped me a lot. I've been pretty busy so this is the first I've had a chance to blog on April's results. I am glad to be able to say I've met 3/4 goals! May has started off to be trying but I look forward to taking positive healthy steps to my healthy life. I tried skating for the first time in my adult life this month. I was taken once as a teenager. I'm being brave or crazy (don't know yet) but I got out there instead of sitting on the sidelines watching others h... Tue, 7 May 2013 11:16:08 EST March/April - goals http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5309955 I was surprised by the tally results for March. I had a new high daily step count of 13272(progress yay!). I also earned a 250 lifetime miles badge. I met two out of four March goals. March had quite a few challenges, and rescheduled/canceled activities. I didn't like that I put myself last many days by skipping breakfast, extremely late nights, canceling things (because something else was more important) and lack of focus on food intake. These are all things that got me unhealthy in th... Mon, 4 Mar 2013 17:00:22 EST Happy start to a new week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5247108 I knew today was going to be an extremely busy day. My walking partner today canceled on me, so I was a little sad. So during my off hour I started off going to just walk around by myself and not let it get me down. Well, as I began my walking I was asked if this was my off hour and would I please consider teaching the physical education class. The teacher for that wasn't there (in hospital). The lady that asked me was off but in much better shape than me. I realized the negative part o... Mon, 11 Feb 2013 23:07:28 EST Monday was great! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5238354 Yesterday was just like the title great! I did not post yesterday because I knew I needed sleep. Sleep that's part of being healthy this night owl has a hard time doing. Guess what, I woke up in a great mood and feel very motivated this morning. Yesterday, I chose good food with a small splurge that was reasonable and ate them mindfully. I was awesome turning down snacks offered to but because I wasn't hungry. This was partly due to realizing I wasn't and making choices to do other thing... I didn't get everything accomplished that I wanted to, but that will be around tomorrow. I made great progress toward not putting myself last. I am listing the top three non-scale victories for a reminder to me, that the world didn't fall apart when everything wasn't done.

*I ate mindfully and 1/2 the way tracked.
* I got in my vitamins, water and breakfast for a two day streak. Tue, 29 Jan 2013 23:55:57 EST 10 Minutes http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5216330 I decided despite having a busy day, I was going to get in 10 minutes. After all I already felt like going to bed. Two hours go by before I head back! This is a wonderful non-scale victory to end the day. Sun, 20 Jan 2013 23:42:18 EST Progress! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5204350 So far for 2013, I've came close to 10,000 steps twice. Today, I got my 10,000 in along with a few hundred more steps! 104 Sat, 12 Jan 2013 23:16:55 EST Preparation for trying days http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5190851 I've been giving some thought about this year. I decide to work on a "safety net" for those less than ideal times, that comes throughout every year. I know those times will come but the difference is the rebound time. Here are my "safety nets" I have for now. Please feel free to share some of yours.

1) I've started keeping a list on non-scale victories. This will be a great help for the times that the scales refuse to budge or when I just feel down work whatever the reason.... I'm so proud with the results, effort and healthy choices that I made this year. I took Rice Krispy Treats, veggie tray and fat free dip, and an ice cream cake that was 1/2 of the sugar of norm. The veggie tray was brought despite being uninvited by the beloved hosting family member of the feast. The tray went over very well and we enjoyed it while the other foods where finis... Fri, 23 Nov 2012 16:07:14 EST Supermarket Shopping http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5116125 I've been thinking about my supermarket shopping trips.

*I'm realizing that alot of the things that I place or allow others to place in my cart have coupons. We shop like that to save money, but it's not really saving on the waistline. Does anyone here shop with coupons and save the waistline? Is it even possible?

*I've also been buying lean meats while on sale and precooking them for quicker fix meals during the week. This has helped out great so we dont end up ... Sun, 28 Oct 2012 22:17:33 EST Despite everything http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4389104 The last few weeks/months have been difficult. Mon, 1 Nov 2010 15:30:01 EST It's the weekend http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3627283 Weekends can be such a challenge for new lifestyle changes. It got me thinking. How do/can people continue their new lifestyle changes, during what seems like the most vulnerable days of the week? I find that's the time I'm the weakness at sticking to goals and eating like I should. I've not done to bad on them, but I know there's room for improvement. Yet, I'm always looking forward to when it comes. On the weekends, there is so much to do with parties, family, friends, shopping and co... Sat, 11 Sep 2010 09:01:44 EST A New Start http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3589814 It already feels like autumn is knocking at the door. It's still hot from time to time but not extremely hot now. This morning it was nice and cool. While sending off the dh to work, we opened the door and saw a double rainbow just outside. What a fantastic way to start the day off! It's a new day and the start of a new week. The trials, choices and decisions that come along with it are beginning. Isn't it awesome how a new start on anything new always seems so energizing and refreshin... Mon, 30 Aug 2010 16:24:50 EST
