Life has been so busy, I have not tracked and exercised like I should. I've been maintaining (which is good) but not losing. I am recommitting myself to tracking and exercising as of right now! Time to get out of the 190's. Mon, 25 Feb 2013 10:07:32 EST Time to put my new habits to the test http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5240929 We'll be leaving Friday night to go on a four day trip to Washington DC. We'll be with a group of people from my children's school. Most of our meals will be included in the tour price, so I'm not sure what my options will be. I will just try to make the best choices I can and watch the portion sizes. We will be doing a tremendous of walking, so I won't have to worry about exercise. I will have my phone and iPad with me, so tracking won't be a problem.

I know I can keep it und... Wed, 6 Feb 2013 23:18:41 EST Day 52 - Still Moving Forward http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5218797 Got on the scale this morning. I am down 15 pounds in 7 weeks - a little ahead of schedule. My goal is to lose 1-2 pounds per week. I love how I feel these days. This has been the most positive experience. It really helps to interact with others. For those lurkers out there - I used to be you! Get involved with SP - everyone is so supportive. Everyone is going through the same things. It helps to know you aren't the only one. I used to get frustrated because weight loss was slow - w... Tue, 22 Jan 2013 14:55:33 EST 20 minutes on the elliptical! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5212342 I got an elliptical for Christmas and could only do 2 minutes on it the first day. Last night I was able to do 20 minutes! I have been adding a little at a time - my goal is to get to 30 mins. I never expected to progress this quickly. What a difference a few weeks makes!! Thu, 17 Jan 2013 23:49:24 EST Still going strong after six weeks http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5207601 Hard to believe it's been six weeks already. I haven't lasted this long in years! I feel great about myself. It has been years since I have felt this motivated. Scratch that. I have never felt this motivated. Could this actually be the lifestyle change everyone is always talking about? I have to give so much credit to SP. It has been a lifesaver! Mon, 14 Jan 2013 23:03:16 EST Still Going Strong! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5199682 Had a weigh in with the wellness coach provided by our insurance company yesterday. She was impressed that I was able to lose 10 pounds through the holidays. I don't think I've ever maintained my weight through the holidays much less lost weight! Not sure what's working so well this time around - guess I'm just in a different place mentally. Tracking my food is so easy with SP. I find that I am having a hard time getting all of my calories in for the day. I'm drinking my water and getti... Wed, 9 Jan 2013 23:08:14 EST Day 37 - Onderland...oh how I have missed you... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5195972 Yay - 199 this morning. Haven't been here in a while. Now to hit the 180's.
Mon, 7 Jan 2013 22:31:00 EST I'm proud to say I weigh 200 lbs!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5191259 Never thought that would come out of my mouth. Proud to weigh 200 lbs at 5'2" tall? When it means i've worked hard to get down to that - you bet I'm proud. I was 216 at my heaviest - 211 a month ago when I became active on SP. I haven't been this weight in a while. My state of mind is so much better than ever before. My hubby and I are working together, so we feed off of each other. It makes it soooo much easier when you're both on the same journey.

Reached first goal - now ca... Sat, 5 Jan 2013 09:21:48 EST Day 33 - First 10 lbs gone for good!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5188804 I lost my first 10 lbs and it feels great! I've been active on spark for a month now. I'm faithfully tracking my eating - even when I go over a little. I now have a good workout routine (which I will continue to improve). I haven't felt this good in a really long time. Looking forward to the next 10 coming off! Thu, 3 Jan 2013 19:45:00 EST Welcome 2013! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5184265 A new year, a fresh new start. I started SparkPeople a month ago and I feel great. It feels good to know I was able to lose 9 lbs even during the holidays. I am regularly exercising now and tracking everything I eat. I have made some really positive changes and really feel like they will stick. My husband and I are in this together, so it makes it a lot easier. My hope is that the healthy lifestyle will trickle down to the kids so they never have to struggle the way we have. Tue, 1 Jan 2013 16:02:40 EST Never thought I'd actually want exercise equipment for Christmas! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5181143 When my husband asked me what I wanted for Christmas this year, I told him I wanted exercise equipment. He didn't think that would go over too well! I told him I was serious, I want to get healthy. Walking is great, but the weather this time of year makes it very hard. He surprised me Christmas morning with an awesome elliptical trainer (he also bought me a beautiful opal bracelet and earrings just to be sure). I was so excited! I am still struggling to do more than 5 minutes at a time,... Sun, 30 Dec 2012 17:20:38 EST Day 20 - Kicked the Diet Coke habit http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5173210 Never thought I could kick the diet coke habit. I used to drink around 5 to 6 per day. I now limit myself to 1 per day. It's sort of my treat for the day. I find that I drink much more water when I don't drink the diet sodas. This is a major accomplishment for me! Fri, 21 Dec 2012 20:51:58 EST Getting started with exercise http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5163635 I'm now consistently getting in 30 minutes of exercise a day. I either go walking in the neighborhood or do wii fit. Next week I think I'll try some of the videos on this site. Tue, 11 Dec 2012 20:38:56 EST Went on a trip an stayed on track! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5162325 I'm so proud of myself. We took a little trip to a christmas festival this weekend. I was able to stay on track the whole time! We walked a lot, so I got my exercise in. I brought food along, but when I did have to buy food, I made smart choices. The only thing I didn't get enough of was water. I'll work on that in the future. The best part is - it was easy to stay on track!! Mon, 10 Dec 2012 15:43:56 EST Day 7 - the weekend is here! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5160039 Wow! This first week flew by. Lost 5 lbs! I know not to expect that every week, but it's a great start. We are going to Natitoches, LA today to look at Christmas lights. It will be an all day trip. It will be interesting to see how I handle being on the road all day. Going to bring food with us so we can make smart choices. I can do this!! Sat, 8 Dec 2012 09:48:19 EST Day 4 - Glad I decided not to wait until the first of the year http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5156946 I always start my "new lifestyle" at the first of the year, but it never sticks. Something finally clicked in my head a couple of days ago, and I decided not to wait. I feel very different than I have in the past - this is the time I do this for good!

Last night was significant - I went to my daughter's basketball game and didn't get anything from the concession stand. This is a major accomplishment - our school has awesome burgers and fries (people come to the games just to eat... Wed, 5 Dec 2012 10:06:56 EST Day 3 Going Great http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5156157 Today has been an easy day so far. It helps to keep busy. I'm the researcher type, so I've spent a great deal of time reading today. I think I can get the eating under control, but it's the exercise I seem to have trouble with. I have to work it in there somewhere - seem to always "run out of time".

I will do it!! Tue, 4 Dec 2012 16:17:59 EST
